Main's Vercel production build has failed since e7ee4a7 (#3479) and 03903ee (#3471): tsc errors because #3475 and #3479 both defined ErrorState and the surviving props lacked requestId/retrying; a duplicate useQAHealth key in dashboard-dead-ends.test.tsx (TS1117); and NO_DATA_YET used without an import in suppliers/page.tsx. Production is still serving c7874cb (READY), so the site is up but new frontend changes are not shipping.

Changes (minimal, backward compatible):

  • ErrorState: optional requestId reference line, retrying disables Retry and shows a Retrying label, a support link, className kept on root
  • remove duplicate mock key
  • import NO_DATA_YET

Local: npx tsc --noEmit -p . clean; error-state, dashboard-dead-ends and dashboard-load-errors vitest suites pass (17 tests). No new data fixtures.

Opened by DevOps infra sweep (fix drafted with Codex CLI).

Note

Low Risk
Targeted compile fixes and backward-compatible ErrorState props; minor dashboard loading behavior change and CI-only supply-chain tweaks.

Overview
Unblocks the frontend production build by reconciling the shared ErrorState component with callers that already pass requestId / retrying: optional request ID line, disabled Retry with “Retrying…”, and a Contact support link, plus a dedicated unit test.

Fixes related TypeScript issues: import NO_DATA_YET on the suppliers dashboard and remove a duplicate useQAHealth key in dashboard-dead-ends.test.tsx. The main dashboard “Needs attention” table no longer ties its loading state to QA health fetch status. Tests are updated for QA health copy and supplier lot-code empty states.

CI / supply chain (bundled): pin copy-lint workflow actions to commit SHAs, add a secrets-scan allowlist pragma on the Vercel preview script, refresh .secrets.baseline, tighten check_supply_chain so permissions: lines are not mistaken for uses:, extend workflow_inventory.txt, and add knip entry points for visual Playwright configs.

…llision

#3475 and #3479 merged back to back and both defined ErrorState. The
surviving component lacked requestId/retrying used by #3479 callers, a
test mock had a duplicate useQAHealth key, and suppliers/page.tsx used
NO_DATA_YET without importing it. Vercel production builds for 03903ee
and e7ee4a7 failed type check; prod is still on c7874cb.

- ErrorState: optional requestId line, retrying disables Retry and shows
  Retrying..., support link, className kept on root
- drop duplicate useQAHealth mock key
- import NO_DATA_YET in suppliers page

📝 Walkthrough

ErrorState now accepts optional requestId and retrying props. It displays a provided request ID, disables Retry and shows “Retrying…” while retrying, and adds a Contact support link. Dashboard changes update a readiness fallback, QA loading status, a hook mock, and related assertions. CI changes update action pin detection, workflow references and inventory, Knip entries, and secret-scanner records.

Priority: ➖ Normal

Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~20 minutes

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 9cd13

The PR remains mergeable with bounded follow-up, but should correct the retrying button’s accessible name and the flow-mapping supply-chain checks.

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to 9cd13

The changes preserve existing authentication, tenant selection, and workflow permissions. No introduced architecture-level security concern was established. Remaining uncertainty concerns downstream dependency behavior and security coverage that was not verified end to end.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Security review details

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The action-reference matcher now requires a line-start, list-item, or flow-context boundary and permits whitespace before the key separator. Existing SHA validation and scan failure handling are unchanged. Earlier source inspection identified compact-flow delimiter and Docker-flow recognition limitations, but the base-to-head comparison shows those limitations predate this PR; they are not established regressions.

Full details: Title check

Explanation

The title names the main change: restoring the frontend build on main after an ErrorState collision, with ticket references. It is specific, follows the conventional commit style, and matches the ErrorState props, the duplicate mock key, and the NO_DATA_YET import described in the PR. It does not cover the CI and supply-chain changes, which the guidance allows.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description follows the template's main sections: Summary, a test status, and a related-issues reference. It explains the build failures, lists the changes, and reports local tsc and Vitest results. The Type of Change and Checklist sections are missing, and the Test Plan has no checkboxes ticked. The Related Issues section names no issue link, though the title cites SEL-410 and SEL-414. The description is mostly complete, so the check passes.

Expose retry progress in the button’s accessible name.

Button forwards aria-label to the native button. During retrying, this label overrides the visible “Retrying…” text, so screen readers announce retryLabel instead of the progress state. Remove the conditional aria-label and update the retrying-state assertions to expect “Retrying…”.

Claude CLI review of head 7b58a3a (author engine: codex). Minor non-blocking follow-ups: Retrying… aria-label mismatch (WCAG 2.5.3); plain vs next/link. Earlier blocking concern (support link scope) withdrawn: /settings/support exists and dashboard-load-errors tests require it.

REVIEW: PASS grok 9b4d11a

Headless review on a fresh SSD worktree at 9b4d11a.

  • Frontend: npx tsc --noEmit -p . passed (exit 0) and npm run build passed (exit 0). I ran both at 51fa80a. frontend/ hasn't changed between 51fa80a and 9b4d11a. Vercel passes.
  • ErrorState, the dashboard-dead-ends mock and the suppliers NO_DATA_YET import fix main's broken build. The new error-state.test.tsx uses UI copy only, so no sample data is added.
  • copy-lint.yml pins checkout@3d3c42e5… and setup-node@949feb24…. The same SHAs are already used in qa-pipeline, supply-chain, public-api-surface and sentinel.
  • All 9 workflows added to workflow_inventory.txt exist under .github/workflows. PR Gate: Workflow Contract passes.
  • Knip entries: playwright.visual.config.ts and tests/visual/*.ts exist and are Playwright entry points. src/lib/capabilities.ts is read by path in scripts/copy-lint/check-copy.mjs:199 and check-copy.test.mjs:10. It is outside knip's import graph, so the entry is justified.
  • vercel-preview-guard.yml:113: the pragma is on the script: | line. The only secret there is ${{ secrets.VERCEL_AUTOMATION_BYPASS_SECRET }} via env, masked with core.setSecret. There's no literal value, so this is a false positive.
  • .secrets.baseline: it only shifts line numbers and drops 2 stale entries (test_epcis_gln_check_digit.py, test_qa4_webhook_inbound.py). It adds no new hashes. PR Gate: Secrets passes.
  • No required check is renamed.

CI: PR Gate: Frontend and Frontend CI Status Gate fail on 3 Unit Tests: dashboard-qa-agreement, qa-health error state, and suppliers-metrics "No data yet". All 3 also fail on main's latest Unit Tests run, along with 7 more that this PR fixes. The Ingestion, Tenant Isolation, Repo-root RLS and Test ingestion failures are also on main. Pinned supply chain flags engine-review-pass, head-sha-check-guard and vercel-preview-guard statuses: permissions, which this PR didn't introduce. PR Blocker Checklist and Engine Review Pass fail on every PR. PR Gate: Backend is still pending.

No merge (merge freeze).

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Stop the reference match at flow-mapping delimiters.

([^"'#\s]+) also consumes ] and }. Therefore steps: [{uses: actions/checkout@<40-char-sha>}] captures the closing delimiters as part of ref and fails SHA40. The supply-chain gate reports a pinned action as unpinned. Exclude flow delimiters from ref, or require a YAML token boundary after the reference.

Match Docker flow-mapping steps to the Docker exemption.

DOCKER_USES_RE is anchored to a line-leading uses:, so it does not match steps: [{ uses: docker://alpine:3.20 }]. check_action_pin then falls through to USES_RE, which captures docker with no @ref and reports action-pin. The same happens to a digest-pinned flow step such as docker://alpine@sha256:…. check_image_digest_workflow uses the same anchored matcher, so flow-form Docker steps are never checked by image-digest.

Use a Docker matcher that accepts flow mappings, and call search at both sites that use it.

REVIEW: PASS grok 9cd1357

Delta review from 9b4d11a to 9cd1357 (278e85a and 9cd1357), headless on a fresh SSD worktree.

  • suppliers-metrics: the test is now scoped to the Lot Codes tile with within(getByText('Lot Codes Tracked').parentElement). That removes the multiple-match failure.
  • check_supply_chain.py USES_RE is now anchored to line start, an optional - , or a flow [/{/,. I probed it with these cases:
    • statuses: read|write: no match.
    • uses: at column 0, indented, - uses:, "uses": "…" and 'uses': '…': all match.
    • # uses: comments and run: echo uses: …: no match.
    • tests/scripts/test_check_supply_chain.py: 101 passed, including the new statuses and flow-mapping tests.
    • Nit (non-blocking): in a flow mapping like [{uses: a/b@v1}] the ref captures as v1}]. A SHA-pinned flow mapping would be flagged even though it's pinned. The repo uses no flow-mapping steps today.
  • dashboard/page.tsx:304, traced through deriveQASignal:
    • Loading: the QA status is loading with passing: false, so attentionRows always gets the "Checking QA signal" row (in-progress). The table is idle with that row. It never shows the empty state, and attentionCount leaves the row out.
    • Error: the status is failed with passing: false, so the "QA signal failed" row shows.
    • Empty: "Nothing needs attention" shows only when QA is disabled (not a sysadmin) or passing and there are no other rows. "No data yet" isn't used in this table.
    • Pre-existing, unchanged by this PR: useSystemStatus, workbench readiness and metrics loading were never gated. While those load (or for a non-sysadmin), the empty state can still flash.
  • qa-health: the test now expects the shared ErrorState sentence "We could not load this page."
  • Local: tsc --noEmit exit 0 and npm run build exit 0. The 5 affected test files (dashboard-qa-agreement, qa-health, suppliers-metrics, dashboard-dead-ends, error-state) pass, 16 tests in all. No sample data is added. No required check is renamed.

CI at 9cd1357: most checks are still pending. Engine Review Pass and PR Blocker Checklist fail on every PR.

No merge (merge freeze).

#3475 and #3479 merged back to back and both defined ErrorState. The
surviving component lacked requestId/retrying used by #3479 callers, a
test mock had a duplicate useQAHealth key, and suppliers/page.tsx used
NO_DATA_YET without importing it. Vercel production builds for 03903ee
and e7ee4a7 failed type check; prod is still on c7874cb.

- ErrorState: optional requestId line, retrying disables Retry and shows
  Retrying..., support link, className kept on root
- drop duplicate useQAHealth mock key
- import NO_DATA_YET in suppliers page

* test(epcis): drop SAMPLE_EPCIS_EVENTS patches; data-free empty-state and header-only FDA CSV assertions

* ci: fix required gates on #3524 (pin copy-lint actions, inventory new workflows, allowlist false-positive secret, declare visual/capabilities knip entries)

* chore(secrets): refresh .secrets.baseline (detect-secrets 1.5.0)

* test(ingestion): make #2868 error-logging tests data-free to fix collection

test_ingest_error_logging_2868.py imported _FakePersistence, _FakeSession, _client and _make_shipping_event from test_webhook_router_v2_1342.py, which the real-data-only cleanup removed, so collection failed on main. Drop the ingest-batch route cases that needed a fabricated event, test _failure_diagnostics directly with no payload, and keep the chain-verify case using MagicMock and a local app builder. Remove the stale detect-secrets baseline entry.

* fix(ci): scope suppliers no-data test; match uses: as YAML key in supply-chain checker

* test(ingestion): restore data-free ingest_batch_failed route coverage for #2868

Mint TENANT_ID and KEY_ID with uuid4 at runtime. Re-add a POST /api/v1/webhooks/ingest failure test that uses caplog to check the traceback, tenant_id, event_count, source, error_type and correlation_id, and that the uuid4 canary lot code, product text and location never reach the log. A MagicMock persistence store raises to reach the handler's except block.

* fix(frontend): show QA-signal loading row on dashboard; align qa-health test with ErrorState copy

* fix(tenant): update route manifest expectations for two new tenant-scoped routes

* ci: list 9 missing workflows in inventory; stop action-pin matching 'statuses:' permissions

* ci(frontend): allowlist visual regression files in Knip unused file guard

* test(ingestion): fix-forward email_ingest principal stub and sel409 admin DB env

* fix(deps): bump pypdf to 6.21.2 for CVE-2026-115572/115585/115580

* test(ingestion): fix suite A collection (2868 persistence import) and drop SAMPLE_EPCIS_EVENTS expectations

* fix(ci): stop Head SHA Check Guard failing main on check_suite/workflow_run events

Those events run in the default-branch context, so failed PR verdicts were
attributed to main. Keep the failure commit status on the PR head SHA; only
fail the job for pull_request events.

* ci: clear detect-secrets false positive in vercel-preview-guard

* test(ingestion): make 944/945 envelope test data-free after #3500 fixture removal

* ci: refresh .secrets.baseline line numbers (detect-secrets 1.5.0, no new findings)

* test(ingestion): capture ingest_batch_failed via dedicated logger; bump factory-local pypdf floor

* ci: refresh .secrets.baseline after test change (drop stale entry)

* fix: address CodeRabbit review on #3552 (checkout creds, retry a11y name, EDI envelope literals, duplicate test name)
