Engine Review Pass failed on #3554, #3553, #3547, #3530 and #3527 even with real REVIEW: PASS posts.

Root causes (from run logs):

Fix: add pi, deepseek and hermes to the allowlist (devops is not added; devops/ branches still fail as an invalid author engine); read issue comments through the same association, regex, sha and author rules; trigger on issue_comment (created, edited) for PRs.

#3554 is not affected by this: its codex PASS review on the head already produced a SUCCESS run (40065681857); the older failure is a stale run from the push.

CI Status Gate is a separate failure, not caused by Engine Review Pass: backend cancelled or failed (#3554, #3553) and PR Gate: Secrets failure (#3547, #3527).

Note

Low Risk
CI-only audit workflow changes; no application runtime or security-sensitive production paths.

Overview
Engine Review Pass now treats valid REVIEW: PASS markers in PR issue comments the same as formal reviews, and reruns when those comments are created or edited.

The workflow resolves the PR from issue_comment events (via pulls.get), extends concurrency grouping and adds issues: read. pi, deepseek, and hermes join the allowed reviewer/author engine set. Marker parsing requires a full 40-character commit SHA and exact equality with the PR head (no prefix matching).

…, deepseek, devops

Real PASS markers on #3553, #3547, #3530 and #3527 were ignored: pi was not an
allowed engine, issue comment markers were never read, and devops/ branches
failed as an invalid author engine. Also rerun on PR issue comments.

Walkthrough

The workflow now handles created and edited issue comments. It resolves comments to pull requests and skips comments on ordinary issues. It fetches pull-request issue comments, converts them to review-like records, and applies existing eligibility and marker-processing rules to comments and reviews. The allowed engine names now include pi, deepseek, and hermes. Marker SHAs must contain 40 hexadecimal characters and match the pull-request head SHA, ignoring case.

Priority: Low

Before / after behavior

  • observed — Modified behavior in .github/workflows/engine-review-pass.yml: Adds created and edited issue_comment events, groups runs by pull-request number or issue number, and grants issues: read; previously, grouping used only the pull-request number and issue reads were not granted.
  • observed — Modified behavior in .github/workflows/engine-review-pass.yml: Uses the payload pull request when available; otherwise, skips comments not attached to a pull request or fetches the pull request using the issue number.

  • observed — Modified behavior in .github/workflows/engine-review-pass.yml: Fetches pull-request issue comments, normalizes them as COMMENTED review-like records, and combines them with reviews before eligibility filtering; previously, only reviews were filtered.

Codex delta review of #3577 (Engine Review Pass via issue comments) at ab8252c.

REVIEW: FAIL codex ab8252c

Findings

  1. .github/workflows/engine-review-pass.yml:71: 'devops' was added to ALLOWED_ENGINES. devops is not a review engine. Any marker reading REVIEW: PASS devops <sha> now counts as a non-author pass, and a devops/ branch prefix counts as a valid author engine. Remove it.
  2. .github/workflows/engine-review-pass.yml:62-74: 'hermes' is missing from ALLOWED_ENGINES. hermes markers are dropped at :193, and hermes/ branches fail at :107. Add it.
  3. .github/workflows/engine-review-pass.yml:175,198: the marker SHA is [0-9a-f]{7,40} and is checked with headShaLower.startsWith(markerSha). A 7-char prefix therefore passes. The rule requires the full current head SHA. Use ([0-9a-f]{40}) and compare for equality (markerSha.toLowerCase() === headShaLower).

Checked, OK

  • Author engine comes from the head branch prefix (:102-105) and fails closed if unknown (:107-112). A PASS whose engine equals the author engine is skipped (:203-207 and :222-224), including markers in issue comments. Line 1 notes that all engines post from one shared account, so exclusion is by engine name in the marker, not by account. That is an accepted audit-trail limitation and not a new regression.
  • Security: there is no checkout and no PR-head code runs. All logic is in actions/github-script pinned by SHA (:31). Comment bodies are only parsed in JS and never interpolated into ${{ }} or a shell. Permissions are statuses:write plus read-only scopes; issues: read (:21) is needed for listComments.
  • Spoofing: issue comments go through the same eligibility filter (:151-163), which requires author_association OWNER/MEMBER/COLLABORATOR. Comments from forks or outsiders are ignored.
  • Concurrency key (:15) falls back to issue.number for issue_comment and does not cancel in-progress runs.
  • Nit: issue comments are editable (edited trigger), unlike submitted reviews. That is acceptable because edits re-run the gate, but the latest edit wins.

CI: Head SHA Check Guard and PR Blocker Checklist show fail after 1s with no steps (workflow startup failure, not a code result). Most other gates are still pending.

REVIEW: PASS grok 2cb1011

Scope: .github/workflows/engine-review-pass.yml only (CI audit workflow; no app code, no sample data added).

Checked:

  • issue_comment trigger + PR resolution via pulls.get, non-PR comments skipped; concurrency key falls back to issue.number; issues: read added. Correct.
  • Issue comments normalized into the same filter path (association OWNER/MEMBER/COLLABORATOR, non-empty body, marker regex, engine allowlist, non-author engine, SHA). No bypass: a comment still needs a trusted association and an exact head SHA.
  • Marker now requires a full 40-char SHA with exact equality (was prefix match on 7+). Stricter and safer; short-SHA markers will no longer count.
  • pi, deepseek, hermes added to ALLOWED_ENGINES; fixes the "unapproved reviewer engine pi" failures on #3553/#3547/#3530/#3527.
  • CI at this head: all required gates green (Backend, Frontend, Secrets, Workflow Contract, CodeQL, Semgrep, CI Status Gate). Engine Review Pass red is expected until a non-author PASS lands. visual-report (non-required) and PR Blocker Checklist red, unrelated.
  • No local tests: workflow-only change, nothing runnable locally.

Notes (non-blocking):

  1. PR body says the fix adds "devops" to the allowlist; the diff adds hermes, not devops. #3530 (devops/sel-420-node-align) will still fail "Invalid author engine". Fix the body or add devops.
  2. issue_comment workflows run from the default branch, so comment-based PASS only takes effect after this merges; existing PRs need a new comment/edit or re-run to refresh status.
  3. Every PR comment (bots included) now triggers a run; harmless (concurrency, no cancel) but noisy.

* feat(suppliers): agreed sending hours per facility and live late CTE metric

Adds supplier_facilities.agreed_sending_hours (nullable, positive) with Alembic and Supabase migrations and downgrades, a tenant scoped PUT route and dashboard control, and computes the late CTE metric against the agreed sending time.

Signed-off-by: Christopher <131207452+PetrefiedThunder@users.noreply.github.com>

* test(security): count the agreed sending hours PUT as a dual session CSRF mutation

* fix(copy): real-data follow-up to #3471 (v3) (#3544)

* fix(dashboard): drop fabricated demo data from recall report page

Remove the hardcoded demo investigation stats and affected-lot rows
(invented suppliers, lot codes, consumer counts). Demo mode now renders
the same No data yet empty state with a link to import records.

* feat(copy): label every EPCIS intake and export mention as (Preview)

EPCIS is preview on both paths, so feature-name mentions across app and
marketing copy now carry the (Preview) marker. The integrations eyebrow
now reads CSV upload, JSON events API, EPCIS (Preview). The FDA sortable
export stays unlabeled. Stored keys and option values are unchanged.

* fix(copy): keep typed EPCIS format value unlabeled in customer-readiness

The format field is a string union used for logic; the (Preview) marker
stays on the display name only.

* feat(pricing): show honest unavailable state when billing is unreachable

Drop the hardcoded tier prices and the silent fallback. Prices now come
only from the billing service; when it cannot be reached the page renders
a Pricing is temporarily unavailable state with signup and contact links
instead of invented figures. Hardcoded dollar amounts in the pricing copy
and metadata are removed as well. EPCIS 2.0 export carries the (Preview)
label; the FDA sortable export stays unlabeled.

* fix(app): remove sample and sandbox banners and the simulated ingest walkthrough

Dashboard shell and DemoBanner now say No data yet with a link to connect
real data on the Ingest page. The ingest page no longer fakes a job for
the first example URL; it submits for real. The Sample: Daily FDA package
archive entry is removed from the archive jobs list. Test assertions
updated for the EPCIS (Preview) status labels.

* fix(data-import): remove synthetic sample dataset simulation

Delete SAMPLE_EVENTS, the handleLoadSample flow with its state and types,
and the Load Sample Dataset / Run Simulation card. A regression test
asserts the control is not rendered. Real CSV upload and the API guide
are unchanged.

* test(copy): assert csv-sftp display text never renders SFTP

Display labels were already clean (CSV Import); this locks the invariant
for the csv-sftp registry entry name, customer copy, and the
csv_sftp_import delivery-mode label. Stored keys and ids are unchanged.

* fix(receiving): use a comma in generated Receiving Dock location names

New receiving submissions name the location 'Receiving Dock, <supplier>'
instead of using a dash. No existing records are touched.

* fix(inflow-lab): hide Inflow Lab links from dashboard, docs, ingest, integrations and product

* fix(tools): remove Inflow Lab simulator, walkthrough sample payloads and recall drill demo data

Drops tools/inflow-lab components, lib/api-samples ingest walkthrough JSON, synthetic tools/ask and tools/export copy, and invented proof/recall-drill numbers. Recall report shows the #3536 no_data empty state.

fix(ci): Engine Review Pass follow-ups from #3577 review threads

- rerun on deleted issue comments so a removed marker updates the status
- order comment markers by updated_at so an edit takes effect when made
- accept uppercase hex in the marker SHA (compared case-insensitively)

* feat(suppliers): agreed sending hours per facility and live late CTE metric

Adds supplier_facilities.agreed_sending_hours (nullable, positive) with Alembic and Supabase migrations and downgrades, a tenant scoped PUT route and dashboard control, and computes the late CTE metric against the agreed sending time.

Signed-off-by: Christopher <131207452+PetrefiedThunder@users.noreply.github.com>

* feat(epcis): record a receipt for every EPCIS document and live failure metric

Adds fsma.epcis_document_receipts with forced RLS and tenant policies (Alembic and Supabase migrations with downgrades), writes an accepted or rejected receipt with a sanitized error summary from the EPCIS ingest routes, and computes the EPCIS failure metric.

Signed-off-by: Christopher <131207452+PetrefiedThunder@users.noreply.github.com>

* test(epcis): size receipt batches from MIN_RECORDS and check partial counts are ints

Signed-off-by: Christopher <131207452+PetrefiedThunder@users.noreply.github.com>

* test(security): count the agreed sending hours PUT as a dual session CSRF mutation

Signed-off-by: Christopher <131207452+PetrefiedThunder@users.noreply.github.com>

* fix(copy): real-data follow-up to #3471 (v3) (#3544)

* feat(suppliers): track data gap time to fix per supplier

Open one gap event per flagged missing KDE or failed CTE validation, close it only when a passing record for the same lot and CTE arrives, and store a receipt hash of the closing record. Adds a per supplier view with open gaps, median time to fix, oldest open gap and a 24 hour at risk flag citing 21 CFR 1.1455(c)(1). Migration included but not applied.
