fix(ingestion): expand EPCIS export KDE joins (Phase B) - #3721
Local: kde joins + second-format map + TestQueryTenantEvents (19 passed)
CI on this PR
Out of scope
Wiring joined KDEs into ObjectEvent fields (C2) or FDA sortable headers (C3)
Partner files / SEL-549 partner runs
Railway / production
Note
Medium Risk
Changes export data-loading SQL and tenant scoping on KDE joins; incorrect joins could leak or omit KDE values across tenants, though export response formats are unchanged.
Overview Phase B prerequisite for ingestion export: _query_tenant_events now pulls additional shipping and harvest KDEs (reference_document, tlc_source_reference, immediate_previous_source, field_id, and harvester contact fields) and returns them on each row dict.
Every tenant_kdes LEFT JOIN now includes tenant_id = e.tenant_id, including ship/carrier/temp joins that previously matched only on cte_event_id and kde_key. That tightens multi-tenant isolation when KDE rows are joined.
EPCIS JSON-LD and FDA CSV output are unchanged in this PR—the new columns are loaded for follow-on work (C2/C3). Tests lock the SQL shape (test_epcis_export_kde_joins.py) and document second-format shipping KDE mapping cases T1–T5 against synthetic fixtures (test_second_format_kde_map.py).

Join reference_document, tlc_source_reference, immediate_previous_source,
and harvester KDEs in _query_tenant_events. Put tenant_id = e.tenant_id on
every tenant_kdes LEFT JOIN. Lock second-format map cases T1 to T5 against
synthetic fixtures only (A-2165). Prerequisite for C3/C2; no event shape
change yet.

Walkthrough
The EPCIS export query now selects additional reference, source, field, and harvester KDE values. Its KDE joins match rows to the event tenant. New tests check query aliases, tenant predicates, session closure, and row mapping. Additional tests cover ASN and synthetic shipping-row mapping, required KDE gaps, TLC validation, value conversion, and unmapped fields.
No merge-blocking regression was identified. The mapping test can better assert the copied values.
Security architecture risk: Low · up to c7621
The change is limited to tenant-scoped export reads and fixture tests. Existing tenant filters remain, and the newly selected fields are not added to downloadable responses. No introduced security issue was established, but live-database behavior and deployment conditions were not verified.
Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The directly affected security scope is the existing tenant-context export path reading the shared FSMA event store. Harvester and reference data become available internally, but the inspected serializers do not expose those newly selected values or grant additional authority.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — The existing export controls retain tenant-context dependency injection, context-derived tenant selection, bound input filters, tenant-filtered KDEs, and tenant-filtered events. No new request route or replacement identity source appears in the compared production change.

Add result-level coverage for distinct KDE values and tenant isolation.
The fake sessions and SQL-string assertions cannot detect swapped KDE aliases or prove cross-tenant exclusion. Add a database-backed test with distinct values for the new aliases and a mismatched-tenant KDE row, then assert the returned values and that the near-match is absent. The schema permits this fixture because its foreign key covers only cte_event_id; seed the mismatched row through an appropriately privileged test fixture because fsma.cte_kdes uses tenant RLS.

Assert the nine required SHIPPING KDEs independently.
SHIPPING_REQUIRED uses the declaration that these tests are meant to protect. If that declaration loses reference_document, _gaps() stops checking it and T1–T5 can still pass. Add an explicit assertion for the nine required keys so the tests detect a removed KDE. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Derive the shipping date from the spreadsheet row.
T4 sets ship_date to "2026-03-12" without reading row["Shipping Date (mm/dd/yyyy)"]. The test still passes if the input date changes or its conversion is wrong. Parse the row value and assert the expected result separately. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

PASS — Phase B KDE join expansion is correct and improves tenant isolation.
Why
_query_tenant_events selects the seven new KDE aliases and puts tenant_id = e.tenant_id on every tenant_kdes LEFT JOIN (including ship/carrier/temp that previously matched only event_id+key).
CTE tenant_kdes already filters k.tenant_id = :tenant_id; join predicate is defense in depth.
Tests use synthetic fixtures only (01_harvesting.csv, asn_856.expected.json). test_second_format_kde_map.py locks the future map helper (disclosed out of scope for production wiring); join tests lock SQL/aliases/mapping.
Local: kde joins + second-format map — 8 passed. CI: Ingestion full suite / Test ingestion / Lint / Security Audit / Semgrep / CodeQL Analyze — success.
Delta re-review: since the previous PASS at 2751861 (by hermes), the only change is a clean main merge (includes #3743/#3736/#3741); PR diff unchanged.
Merged main into this branch. There were no conflicts.
Fix (this PR's own test only): after the merge, test_second_format_kde_map.py::test_t2_asn_plus_synthetic_lot_and_tlc_source_can_pass failed. It asserted validate_tlc(lot, strict=True) rejects a harvest-style lot, but main's #3719 made a strict pattern mismatch a warning, never a reject. The test's own comment already said "warning not failure". It now asserts the result is valid and carries the production-pattern warning. I didn't touch any validation or export code.
Local checks (Python 3.11):pytest services/ingestion/tests -n auto passed (rc=0).

T2 checks that both fields are nonempty, but it validates lot rather than the mapped TLC. The test can pass if mapping changes the TLC or substitutes another nonempty source reference. Compare both mapped values with their inputs, then validate the mapped TLC.
As per path instructions, “Traceability lot codes (TLCs) must be preserved exactly as received” and “must stay linked to their source and reference documents.”
