fix-forward #3943 (tsk-4wadcj): agent reply route returns 500 when the channel lookup raises or channel_id is not a string (CodeRabbit Minor, introduced by #3940, untouched by #3943) - #3944

fix(agent-chat): handle channel lookup errors and invalid channel_id type
Fix two issues in the agent chat reply route (self_chat_reply) introduced by #3940:
In _resolve_target_channel, validate that channel_id is a string before
passing it to the store. Non-string values (list, dict) now return 400
with "invalid channel_id" instead of causing a SQLite binding error (500).
In self_chat_reply, wrap the chat_channels.get_channel call in try/except.
Store errors now return 503 with "chat store unavailable" (matching the
existing contract for trace_id lookups) instead of an unhandled 500.
Both cases are fail-closed: no reply is recorded when these errors occur.

Bug Fixes
Agent chat replies can only be sent to channels that include the agent; requests targeting other or unknown channels return 403 without recording a reply.
Registry and chat lookup failures return 503 instead of falling back or producing an unhandled error.
Invalid channel IDs return 400, and agents with colliding slugs cannot share a session.
Fix 1 (route only, tinyagentos/routes/agent_chat_session.py, before
`record_reply`): work out the target channel the same way `_handle_reply`
does (body `channel_id`; else the channel of the message `trace_id` names,
via `request.app.state.chat_messages.get_message`). If there is a target
channel, load it with `request.app.state.chat_channels.get_channel` and
answer 403 `{"error": "not a member of this channel"}` unless the agent's
slug is in `channel["members"]`. No target channel = unchanged (falls back
to the agent's own DM).
Fix 2 (`_resolve_slug`): two registry agents whose canonical ids strip to
the same slug must not share a session. After the local-agent collision
check, refuse with 403 `{"error": "handle collides with another registry
agent"}` when any OTHER active registry entry strips to the same slug (use
the registry store on app.state; read tinyagentos/agent_registry_store.py
for the listing method, do not invent one).
Tests added: reply with foreign channel_id -> 403; reply with trace_id of
message in foreign channel -> 403; reply into own DM -> 202 (positive
control); second registry agent with colliding slug -> 403.
RED-PROOF:

The agent chat reply route now rejects registry slug collisions, resolves target channels from channel_id or trace_id, and checks channel membership before recording replies. Registry and chat-store failures return 503; invalid channel IDs return 400.
The route checks active registry agents for matching derived slugs. A registry lookup failure returns 503, and tests verify that only the first matching agent is allowed.
Target channel resolution and authorization tinyagentos/routes/agent_chat_session.py, tests/test_agent_chat_session_routes.py, docs/agent-coordination.md, changelog.d/*agent-chat*.md, changelog.d/tsk-*.md
The route resolves targets from channel_id or trace_id, validates lookups, and checks channel membership before recording replies. Tests and documentation cover membership denials and error responses.

Lead review: PASS on head f252262 (fix-forward of #3943, card tsk-jreuii; chain top over #3943 + #3942 + #3940).
Diff vs base 03b6724 is exactly the card: a non-string channel_id now returns 400 before any lookup, and a raising get_channel returns the same 503 payload as the registry and trace lookups. Re-measured locally: head 21 passed; base route file with the head's tests 2 failed / 19 passed (the two new tests, both named in the commit body's red fence). In-house review PASS after one fix round. Commit author jaylfc, no attribution, no em dashes. Nothing deleted.

Document the new reply-route responses and limit retry guidance.
This agent-facing API now returns 400 for an invalid channel_id and 503 when registry or chat-store lookup raises. Document these responses so clients can handle them correctly. The 400 response is not retryable without changing the request. The lookup-related 503 responses occur before record_reply, so retrying them cannot duplicate that reply.
📝 Suggested doc addition
agent may use it; subsequent agents receive 403 `handle collides with another

+A non-string `channel_id` returns 400 `invalid channel_id`. If the agent+registry or a chat store lookup raises, the route returns 503 and does not+record the reply; these lookup failures can be retried.
