Worldgen
The Shattergrove is a lush, magical forest with a dreamlike atmosphere. Purple water flows in rivers and lakes, bright green grass stretches beneath twisted glowing trees, and tiny shimmering particles drift through the air. The forest feels alive, vibrant, and surreal.
Despite being technically hot and arid (no rainfall), the Shattergrove is packed with vegetation. Its signature trees are the Shatterblooms — tall, dark-trunked trees with colorful glowing leaf canopies. Beneath them, wildflowers and grasses add bursts of color, including:
- Allium
- Blue Orchid
- Cornflower
- Lily of the Valley
- Pitcher Plant
The biome is peaceful compared to others. Vanilla hostile mobs can spawn at night, but they are less frequent here than in most other Overworld regions.
Unique fauna give the forest its character:
- Pukeko – small, brightly colored birds that wander in flocks, adding motion and sound.
- Hedgehog – tiny, shy animals that move slowly in the underbrush, adding life to the forest floor.
With its rare flora, reduced monster spawns, and ambient wildlife, the Shattergrove is ideal for players who want to build or explore in a safe, beautiful setting.
The Venomous Fen is a swampy, decayed wetland filled with danger. Constant rainfall, thick fog, and a green haze create a toxic and unsettling atmosphere. The water is dark and murky, the ground is sodden, and the air feels heavy with spores.
Towering Mycelial Sporewood trees dominate the fen. These twisted fungal trees drip with hanging vines, and glowing spores float in the air. Mushrooms and Poison Lilies are common across the floor, adding both beauty and danger.
The biome is warm, humid, and hostile. It feels alive with buzzing insects and dripping water, while the terrain has been stabilized to use dirt and grass instead of mud — easier to traverse but no less oppressive.
The main threat is the Toxic Slime, a mutated slime variant unique to this biome:
- Applies Poison II on hit.
- Emits a passive poison aura that harms anything nearby.
- Applies Corrosion, damaging the player’s armor durability.
- Splits into smaller slimes when killed.
Other hostile mobs can spawn, but Toxic Slimes are the biome’s defining feature.
The Venomous Fen is one of the harshest Overworld environments. While atmospheric and resource-rich, it is extremely hostile and dangerous to settle in without preparation.
The Crystalfrost Vale is a frozen valley biome filled with crystalline beauty. Snow and ice coat the landscape, while frost particles drift through the air. The fog and sky are pale blue, giving the entire biome a cold, ethereal glow.
Its signature trees are Cryoheart Trees, tall evergreens with frosty blue leaves and wood. Cryoheart leaves may occasionally yield Frost Fruit, which grants Frost Resistance when eaten, protecting against powdered snow freezing.
The biome is sparsely vegetated due to the intense cold, but crystalline formations and icy patches dot the terrain. Hostile mob spawns are typical of cold biomes, with Strays replacing skeletons. Rare wandering Snow Golems may appear as ambient mobs.
The Crystalfrost Vale is harsh and inhospitable but rewards explorers with unique wood, fruit, and the chance to find Sapphire ore embedded in exposed icy rock formations.
The Solarblight Expanse is a scorched desert wasteland under a relentless sun. Vast dunes of blazing orange sand stretch endlessly, broken only by rare Emberpine Trees, which provide a unique charred crimson wood set.
The sky and fog are tinted orange, ash particles drift constantly, and there is no rainfall. The biome radiates extreme heat, introducing new environmental hazards:
- Solar Flares – random bursts of heat that can ignite nearby entities with True Fire unless they are protected.
- Heat Damage – standing unprotected in the biome can be deadly. Only Cooling Gear (Bikini + Swim Trunks) can prevent it.
The biome is home to the Scorched Husk, a fire-immune undead variant. These mobs are immune to all fire and lava damage and have a chance to inflict True Fire on hit.
Solarblight Expanse is one of the most dangerous Overworld biomes, demanding preparation and specialized equipment to survive. In exchange, it offers Emberpine wood, loot-bearing Solar Pillars, and rare resources.
