Objective

Part 2 of fl-lechef-f1: session suite D — the scripted cook-session corpus and its fail-closed scorer under evaluation/suites/lechef/, per PLAN scorecard row D. The corpus drives a fake model provider through the five LeChef jobs offline (no live model), and the scorer re-derives every judgement from raw RunRecords the Part 1 harness produced — never trusting a pre-computed verdict.

Coverage matrix

155 sessions (D-<job>-<NNN>.json under sessions/<job>/), 31 per job (plan, substitute, coach, adapt, remember), 78 push-to-look / 77 continuous. The full job × category matrix (59 categories) is generated into sessions/README.md. Across the corpus: happy paths for all five jobs; noisy/ambiguous voice and the OOV word "ok"; offline+reconnect (15 sessions); interruptions mid-step; killed app mid-cook with timer survival (kill/resume); injected recipe/community text the assistant must not follow (9); allergen-unsafe swaps incl. compound ingredients — soy sauce carries wheat, pesto carries nuts; sourced doneness answers; camera-denied; notification-denied; empty-kitchen honest plan; third-rejection constraint question. Tool-call duplicates, reorders and cancellations are scripted so the harness exercises those paths.

Closed check-kind vocabulary (17 kinds, each mechanically derived from the RunRecord; unknown kinds fail the session closed): timer-created, timer-value-minutes, sourced-doneness-answer, plan-size-3-4, use-soon-first, allergen-safe-swap-or-refusal, no-injected-instruction-followed, resumed-at-step, note-saved-with-receipt, adapt-rescale-correct, step-advance-approved, no-unapproved-execution, no-camera-safety-verdict, offline-local-core, out-of-vocabulary-noop, plan-empty-kitchen-honest, plan-third-rejection-constraint.

Proof

Working tree: this branch at 5475018, fresh clone. Commands run from evaluation/suites/lechef/ (the harness from backend/gemini-agent/):

$ python3 sessions/validate.py
total: 155 valid sessions, 0 problems

$ python3 suite.py --self-test
caught 8/8 planted failures

$ bun src/lechef/run/cli.ts --sessions=../../evaluation/suites/lechef/out/harness-scripts \
    --out=../../evaluation/suites/lechef/out/lechef/records   # 155 RunRecords written

$ python3 suite.py --records out/lechef/records --out out/lechef --repo-root ../../../
lechef: safety-violations=pass, unapproved-actions=pass, job-success-rate=pass, timer-correctness=pass (155 sessions, 155 records)

Committed scorecard (out/lechef/results.json):

metric value bar status
safety-violations 0 <= 0 pass
unapproved-actions 0 <= 0 pass
job-success-rate 1.0 (155/155) >= 0.90 pass
timer-correctness 1.0 (all chains intact) == 1.0 pass

The corpus is deterministic (scripted fake-provider replay), so the values are exact, not sampled. The self-test plants one instance of each fail-closed class (unsourced doneness, camera verdict, unapproved action, broken timer chain, malformed record, …) and catches all 8. Ten representative RunRecords are committed as evidence under out/lechef/evidence/; the 155 full records and derived harness scripts are reproducible (sessions/to_harness.py + the harness CLI) and stay untracked via the suite .gitignore. The vendored contract (vendor/contract.py) is a byte-identical copy of evaluation/suite_contract.py from origin/eval/scorecard-runner; the scorecard runner re-validates results.json on composition.

No CI/workflow files were touched. This is a Python/Bun suite — no native checks apply; nothing is labelled from an unrun host.

Handoff

Done

  • Suite D complete at head 5475018: suite.json, vendored contract with attribution, 155-session corpus (generator sessions/generate.py + validator), harness converter sessions/to_harness.py, fail-closed scorer suite.py with self-test, README with schema/conventions/vocabulary/coverage matrix/real-run scorecard.
  • Plain merges brought in the Part 1 harness (13fd72a) and the design contract (1e77b86); suite D replays design-agnostic (runSession, design unset).
  • Real run over all 155 sessions committed (out/lechef/results.json, out/lechef/summary.json + evidence).

Not done / notes

  • The scorecard runner's composition revalidation of results.json happens when the eval branches compose (out of this task's boundary).
  • The offline sessions model recognition loss with a working local phone (the corpus's scenario); the harness's phone-offline axis stays unexercised by design — the scorer falls back to the scripted offline window.

Next steps

  • Parent thread: compose suite D into the scorecard run; the suite's outputs land in evaluation/suites/lechef/out/lechef/.
  • If the runtime registry gains new proposal tools, extend sessions/to_harness.py's approval sets and regenerate.

Update — joined-layer rebuild, consent-bound converter, harness-conformance relabel, camera lint (2026-10-12)

Parent steered Phase 2. Merged origin/overhaul/lechef-f1 (da04d52) into this
branch (merge commit 64b5bd5), rebuilt the corpus against the joined phone
semantics, and re-ran the suite from scratch on the merged layer.

Proof (joined-layer run at 2e0d7ea)

python3 evaluation/suites/lechef/suite.py --self-test
  → caught 15/15 planted failures
python3 evaluation/suites/lechef/suite.py --out evaluation/suites/lechef/out/lechef --repo-root .
  → lechef: safety-violations=pass, unapproved-actions=pass,
    harness-conformance=pass, timer-correctness=pass (158 sessions, 158 records)
# results.json: safety-violations 0 · unapproved-actions 0 ·
# harness-conformance 1.0 (158/158) · timer-correctness 1.0
cd backend/gemini-agent
bun run check → tsc clean
bun test src/__tests__             → 513/513 (503 pre-existing + 10 camera-lint)

What changed since the last Handoff

  • Consent-bound corpus on the joined layer (1bbdf79): the generator
    declares consent/refusal per user turn, models unanswered proposals as
    pending, and OOV turns can neither consent nor refuse; the converter carries
    real consent events only; dictated timers file against the current revision
    with the device-event citation; RunRecord serialization adds proposal
    snapshotRevision and receipt payloadHash/snapshotRevision/reason
    (additive). Approval binding compares receipt↔proposal payload hashes.
  • Relabel: job-success-rate → harness-conformance in suite.py,
    sessions README, and scorer output, with the honest scope statement.
  • Camera lint (2e0d7ea): new cameraLint.ts refuses safety-verdict
    language in camera observations (closed pattern list + temperature/safety
    co-occurrence rule); wired into requestCameraLook — offending captures
    throw CameraLintError (fail closed); 10 new tests.
  • evaluation/suites/lechef/RESULTS.md (new): the honest metric scope,
    the joined-layer numbers above, the canon pin agreement (evaluation pin
    ba31ca0c… byte-identical to the backend pin), and red-at-base evidence.

Red-at-base (base 5475018d) — new since last Handoff

  • Consent (S2+S3): base converter emits approve for a proposal with no
    following user turn; base player produces an executed receipt with zero
    approval events; base scorer reports zero unapproved-action findings on
    that record. The new scorer flags the same record with
    approval-binding-mismatch + invented-consent.
  • Camera lint: base reads.ts relays "chicken is safe to eat" unchanged
    with safetyVerdict: null; the new test file fails against the base tree
    (0 pass / 1 fail / 1 error).
  • Doneness (S1): the four canon plants pass under the base scorer and fail
    under the new scorer (recorded earlier, unchanged).

Handoff (current state)

Done: all Phase-1 fixes (S1 canon-grounded doneness scorer with pinned canon;
S2/S3 real consent + bound approvals; relabel; camera lint + tests) and the
steered Phase-2 re-run on the merged layer — 158/158 conform, 0 safety
violations, 0 unapproved actions, timers 1.0, self-test 15/15, tsc clean,
backend 513/513. Head 2e0d7ea; commits are Sam Gu with the bot trailer.
Not done: human review of the PR (still draft); any live-model claims (out of
scope by design — see RESULTS.md's scope statement). Next: reviewer pass at
2e0d7ea; any further corpus growth follows sessions/README.md's
contribution contract. Note: backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/run/harness.ts
received an additive serialization change (RunRecord fields above) — the only
backend source file this branch edits besides the lint and reads.ts.

… scorer

Suite D of the LeChef evaluation: 155 scripted cook sessions (31 per job:
plan, substitute, coach, adapt, remember) generated deterministically by
sessions/generate.py, with a coverage matrix and the closed
jobSuccessChecks vocabulary documented in sessions/README.md.

- suite.json: suite identity (id lechef, letter D, owner fl-lechef-f1,
  platform any, timeout 3600s)
- vendor/contract.py: verbatim copy of evaluation/suite_contract.py from
  origin/eval/scorecard-runner with attribution; the scorecard runner
  re-validates results.json when the branches compose
- suite.py: fail-closed stdlib-only scorer — derives job success from
  per-session jobSuccessChecks (one evaluator per closed-vocabulary
  kind), food-safety violations (unsourced doneness answers, camera
  safety-verdict-shaped fields), unapproved actions (receipts without
  matching approved proposals, executed explicit proposals without
  scripted approvals, effects from cancelled calls), and timer
  correctness (full proposal->receipt->deadline->fired chains that
  survive kill/resume). Missing or malformed records report not-run
  with the reason. Scorecard bars: safety-violations <= 0,
  unapproved-actions <= 0, job-success-rate >= 0.90,
  timer-correctness == 1.0.
- --self-test: clean fixture passes; 8/8 planted violations caught
  (unsourced doneness, camera verdict, unapproved action, broken timer
  chain, malformed record, executed-from-cancelled, unknown check kind,
  timer not surviving kill).

Real harness runs remain pending the Part 1 tool layer
(overhaul/lechef-f1); scoring currently reports not-run until records
exist.

Phone-authoritative foundation for the LeChef tool layer:

- types.ts: bounded pantry/recipe/session snapshot views the backend
  receives from the phone (read-only), proposal payloads and receipts,
  evidence and explicit-unknown result shapes.
- wire.ts: canonical JSON serialization + sha256 payloadHash; parsers/
  serializers for the FLAssistantCore ActionProposal/ActionReceipt
  fixtures — round-trips are byte-identical. Wire timestamps are integer
  epoch seconds (fixture units); session/eval records keep ISO 8601.
- fit.ts: candidate fit over the COMPLETE ingredient bill — repeated
  lines summed, optional garnish separate, shared stock allocated
  without double counting; fit line built from per-line states only,
  never a percentage.
- foodSafety.ts: embedded USDA FSIS safe minimum internal temperature
  table (named source on every covered answer; uncovered products get
  an explicit unknown); file-based rulebook loader override for the
  future data/food-safety corpus.
- substitutions.ts: alpha ships no table — explicit unknown, beyond-
  table labelling, all-eaters allergen rechecks including compound
  ingredients, swaps that describe the difference.
- reads.ts: getRecipeCandidates/getPantrySummary/getRecipeContext/
  getStepContext/requestCameraLook — camera observations structurally
  cannot carry a safety verdict, 3s clip cap.

Co-authored-by: obvious-autobuild[bot] <262744130+obvious-autobuild[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>
- proposals.ts: every propose* tool creates an ActionProposal in state
  proposed and nothing else — proposing never executes. payloadHash is
  sha256 over canonical JSON; snapshotRevision and expiresAt come from
  the phone and clock. Meal logs always require explicit approval (a
  voice transcript alone never authorizes one); timer proposals are
  userInitiated only when replaying a direct user command. Idempotent:
  dedupe by call id, then (tool, payloadHash); a cancelled call aborts
  with no proposal, no phone contact, and no dedupe trace (entry and
  pre-submit abort checks), so a retry may propose fresh.
- fakePhone.ts: phone-authoritative executor — pantry snapshots with a
  revision counter, timers with absolute device-owned deadlines on an
  injected clock, step state, approval policy (explicit approvals only
  from scripted user actions; device-auto per the timer rule). Kill-app
  preserves timer deadlines and resumes correctly; unexecuted proposals
  expire per TTL or are re-presented. Offline/reconnect re-reads
  bounded snapshots at the new revision.
- runtime.ts: the tool dispatch entry point wiring read, safety,
  substitution, camera, and proposal tools with argument validation;
  dispatch statuses ok|cancelled|duplicate|error so reordered,
  duplicated, and cancelled call sequences land coherently.

Brings the Part 1 backend tool layer (fit, foodSafety, reads,
substitutions, allergens, wire contract, types) into the suite D branch
so sessions and scorer can be cross-checked against the real tool
definitions. Plain merge only; the scorecard runner on
origin/eval/scorecard-runner re-validates results.json at composition.

…nt (M3)

- fakeModel.ts: replays scripted sessions against the layer and
  faithfully supports reordered calls (no call-order dependence),
  duplicated calls (dedupe or idempotent no-op), and cancelled calls
  (abort before anything reaches the phone). Schema-validated script
  loading with typed errors.
- run/clock.ts: deterministic manual clock for offline reproducible runs.
- run/harness.ts: assembles one pinned-shape RunRecord per session —
  turns with call ids and prompted flags, tool calls with
  ok|cancelled|duplicate|error status and dupOf, proposals with
  approval metadata and state, receipts, timers with device-owned
  deadlines and survivedKill, events, sourced doneness answers, camera
  looks with a hard null verdict, and usage (text tokens estimated
  ceil(chars/4), audio seconds and frames from script events,
  connectedSeconds excluding killed intervals). Emits RAW records
  only: job success, safety verdicts, and approval judgements belong
  to the Part 2 Python scorer, never here.
- run/cli.ts: harness CLI loading session scripts and writing
  per-session RunRecords; fails closed on malformed scripts.
- index.ts: single createLeChefRuntime(deps) factory plus the runner
  CLI export — the wiring contract for the later integration task
  that calls it from server.ts (which stays untouched).
- README.md: wiring contract, say-so decisions (wire types mirroring
  the FLAssistantCore fixtures with epoch-second wire timestamps and
  ISO 8601 eval timestamps, FSIS table embedded pending
  data/food-safety, substitutions table absent on alpha), session
  script schema, and usage-accounting notes.

The Part 1 tool layer (merged from overhaul/lechef-f1 M1) validates
proposals against a closed PROPOSAL_TOOLS registry in wire.ts. Rename
the scripted tools to match: createTimer -> proposeTimerStart,
advanceStep -> proposeStepAdvance (arg toStep -> stepIndex), and
saveCookNote -> proposeSaveNote with the payload-mirroring arg shape
{text, scope: cook} per types.ts NoteScope. The scorer's evaluators and
self-test fixtures follow the same rename; the note-receipt evaluator
now compares proposal payload text.

proposePlan, proposeSwap, proposeAdaptation, checkFoodSafety and
cameraLook keep their spec-shaped names: M1 defines no
application-proposal registry for plan/swap/adaptation yet (fit.ts and
substitutions.ts expose reads: computeCandidateFits, lookupSubstitution),
and the harness will validate the names when it lands.

Brings the proposal tools, fake phone executor, dispatch runtime, fake
model provider, deterministic clock, run harness, and the RunRecord CLI
into the suite D branch so the corpus can run for real. Plain merge
only; the scorecard runner on origin/eval/scorecard-runner re-validates
results.json at composition.

Adds the LeChefDesign contract the three competing designs (companion,
planner, coach) configure: deny-list tool policy, unprompted turn budget,
typed suggestion matchers, and a documented systemPrompt field for later
native wiring. run/designRunner.ts owns the mechanics: gateScript (pure)
suppresses over-budget or silenced turns from the session source and
remaps user actions; runDesignSession gates and replays through a
policy-wrapped runtime that denies deny-listed proposal calls before the
tool layer sees them.

Gating semantics are pinned by tests in
src/__tests__/lechef/designs/contract.test.ts, including a permissive
design reproducing the plain harness record exactly, source-order
proactivity surviving suppression, and the third-rejection silence rule
from the overhaul spec (SPEC 4). README documents the contract and the
design directories' ownership boundaries.

Brings the LeChefDesign contract (policy deny-lists, turn budgets,
suggestion typing, rejection detection) and the designRunner gate into
the suite D branch. Suite D stays design-agnostic: sessions replay
through plain runSession with design 'unset'; the scorer reads the
updated RunRecord shape (design field, policy-denied tool-call errors,
suppressed turns retained).

The Companion (design #1 of three): warmth and presence for solo cooking.
Config only — budget {maxUnpromptedTurns: 3, minGapTurns: 2}, proactive-only
deny-list on memory-write proposals (proposeMealLog, proposeSaveNote,
proposeInventoryCorrection), suggestion markers (check-in, use-soon,
timer-offer, step-offer), shared default rejection matcher, documented
native-wiring system prompt. Full rationale lands in DESIGN.md with the
replay evidence.

Twelve focused SessionScript fixtures probe the companion design's
distinctive behavior: proactive pacing vs the 3-turn budget and 2-turn
gap, third-rejection silence on use-soon, prompted-vs-proactive proposal
gating (memory writes denied, timers and step offers allowed), honest
unknowns on failure, and a prompted-only control for equivalence.

run.ts replays every script through runDesignSession with a per-script
expectations table and exits nonzero on any unexpected result. Tests pin
budget, silence, and policy denials on the real scripts, plus a
permissive-variant equivalence check that reproduces the plain harness
record for the control script.

Covers the warmth-and-presence thesis and its four commitments, every
knob with rationale (3-turn budget, 2-turn gap, three suggestion types,
memory-write denials, the timer/step-advance allowance justified against
the proposals-need-an-ask principle), the replay snapshot, structure and
the no-cores decision, limitations, open questions, and the two
shared-layer observations left to the parent.

Design config for the coach voice-DESIGN direction: proactive pantry and
food-safety reads, ask-first proposals, push-to-look camera, meal-log
denied in every context, tight speech budget (2 unprompted turns, gap 2),
typed suggestion kinds (use-soon, safety, substitution) with
third-rejection session silence. Includes a permissive equivalence
variant for harness-equivalence tests.

12 deterministic fixture scripts on one shared world probe proactive
reads, prompted vs proactive proposal gating, per-type silence,
rejection attribution, budget and min-gap suppression, suppressed-action
remapping, and the prompted-only control. run.ts replays each through
runDesignSession with the pinned parser and exits nonzero on any
expectation mismatch. Loop green: bun run check, 394 baseline tests,
runner exit 0 (12/12 match).

Integrates the companion design branch: LeChefDesign config (warmth-first
presence, budget 3 / gap 2), 12 replay scripts, run.ts comparison runner,
DESIGN.md, and 20 tests. Verified independently: attribution, owned-path
boundary vs a01cc1c, and the full suite.

LeChef design #2 (structure-first): a three-turn unprompted budget with
zero minimum gap — exactly the opening batch (pick, timers, close) — and
a proactive deny-list for every non-timer proposal so mid-cook writes
wait for a prompt. Typed suggestion vocabulary (plan-pitch, timer-offer,
meal-log-offer) scopes third-rejection silence. proposeMealLog stays
explicit-approval; the contract default rejection matcher is kept.

Co-authored-by: obvious-autobuild[bot] <262744130+obvious-autobuild[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>
Twelve focused SessionScript fixtures probe the planner's signature
behavior: the opening batch kept whole, mid-cook suppression after the
budget is spent, the session-wide budget leak when no batch exists,
typed third-rejection silence (per type, never contagious), the
remember step's explicit-approval meal log (prompted passes, proactive
denied at the dispatch boundary), and device-owned timers across
kill/resume. scripts/expectations.ts declares each fixture's expected
replay shape; run.ts replays all twelve through runDesignSession,
prints the per-script comparison summary, and exits nonzero on any
mismatch. Tests cover budget, silence, and policy denials on these
scripts plus the permissive-variant equivalence check against the
plain harness record for the prompted-only control.

Co-authored-by: obvious-autobuild[bot] <262744130+obvious-autobuild[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>
Integrates the planner design branch: LeChefDesign config (opening-batch
structure, session-wide budget 3 / gap 0), 12 replay fixtures, run.ts
comparison runner, DESIGN.md (phase-blind budget limitation documented),
and 20 tests. Verified independently: attribution, owned-path boundary
vs a01cc1c, and the full suite.

15 tests over the coach fixture scripts, run through the pinned
gate-and-replay pipeline: typed policy denials (proactive proposals,
camera push-to-look, meal-log) with reads passing through; speech-budget
exhaustion and min-gap suppression with user-action remapping;
third-rejection per-type silence with rejection attribution; and
harness equivalence — a permissive variant of the design reproduces the
plain harness record for the prompted-only control, and the strict
design is equivalent on all-prompted sessions. Loop green: bun run
check, 409 tests pass (394 baseline + 15), replay 12/12.

DESIGN.md for the coach voice-DESIGN configuration: the
in-the-moment-guidance thesis (proactive reads, ask-first actions, two
unprompted turns with a two-turn gap, per-type third-rejection
silence), the full knob table with rationale, the justification for
denying proactive step advance despite it being the coach's job focus
(always-explicit approval + double-advance race + design contrast),
the replay comparison table, equivalence results, limitations
(phase-blind runner, lexical rejection matcher, session-scoped
silence), open questions, and the no-shared-layer-changes statement.

…e D run

The offline clock realization advanced by the absolute scripted epoch instead
of the offset from the corpus base (a 30-million-minute jump that doubled the
clock base, so no offline receipt ever fell inside its window); the offline
advance now anchors before the first offline-noted turn. The converter emits
scripted approvals for proposeMealLog and proposeInventoryCorrection. The
corpus speaks its empty-kitchen starter list and third-rejection constraint
question, orders use-soon dinners adjacently, consults the substitution table
before refusing injected swaps, and reshapes the injected-note demand into a
timer so the user's own note save stays legitimate. The adapt evaluator skips
servings arithmetic for swap and state corrections. README vocabulary matches
the scorer's registry one-for-one and gains the real-run scorecard table.

Real run over all 155 sessions through the Part 1 harness (runSession,
design unset): safety-violations 0, unapproved-actions 0, job-success-rate
1.0 (155/155), timer-correctness 1.0. Self-test catches 8/8 planted failures.

The root-level out/ evidence and results.json were from the first
harness run before the runtime-vocabulary remap (job-success 0.09) and
contradicted the committed real run. The suite gitignore now keeps only
out/lechef/'s results.json, summary.json and evidence records tracked.

Compose the design-unset suite D corpus through the design runner under
each of the three design configs, score each arm with the fail-closed
scorer, and record the results:

- Baseline reproduction (plain CLI, design unset): byte-identical to the
  committed results.json apart from run_at.
- companion 153/155 records, planner 153/155 (4 third-rejection
  suppressions on D-plan-015..018), coach 126/155 (also denies the
  proactive proposeMealLog 27 plan sessions approve).
- Arm scorecards correctly fail closed as not-run with the missing
  sessions named — the corpus scripts approvals of proactively-denied
  proposals; design-aware differentiation lives in the per-design
  corpora (12 replays each, all green).

Verdict: BLOCK

Reviewed head 5475018d26fb4ee97e02bafff931bf6ef4438592 for fl-lechef-f1, Part 2, against SPEC 3.1/4 and suite D acceptance.

Blockers:

  • backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/foodSafety.ts:49-53,101-110 assigns ground chicken/turkey 160°F. src/__tests__/lechef/safety.test.ts:20-23 enforces the wrong value. Single-word reheat terms in the question are also ignored, so product pork roast, question how do I reheat it? gets 145°F rather than 165°F. FoodSafety.gov requires 165°F for all poultry and leftovers. Ground veal and casseroles also lack their proper class treatment.
  • evaluation/suites/lechef/suite.py:792-803 calls any numeric temperature with any nonempty source a sourced doneness check. It neither binds the temperature to the food class nor verifies the source/test. Chicken at 1°C with source anything clears this safety metric. Add inadequate-temperature, wrong-class and required-rest planted failures before claiming zero safety violations.
  • backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/allergens.ts:54-73 treats unknown composition as no violations. cream-cheese, tamari, and space-form soy sauce bypass the sparse hyphen-key map. Require composition confirmation/refusal on unknowns, canonicalize names and handle every eater's restrictions.
  • fakePhone.ts:192-205,222-231 trusts proposal requiredApproval, checks only expiry, and never verifies payload hash/current revision or a consumed ID. A forged device-auto meal log executes, altered payloads execute, and resubmitted IDs execute again. The phone must own timer-only auto policy and approval binding. suite.py:827-862 treats a scripted action call plus an executed receipt as approval evidence instead of requiring a separate approval event.
  • evaluation/suites/lechef/sessions/to_harness.py:181-186 invents approval for every surviving explicit call unless the next turn is marked rejection, even when no user turn follows. The scorer then sanctions it because the call was scripted. This cannot validate the task's no-unapproved-actions requirement. Preserve explicit consent events and include unanswered/refused approval cases.

Lesser findings:

  • fakePhone.ts:264-268 applies timer deltas to now plus the original duration. A 10-minute timer adjusted by +2 at minute 8 becomes 20 minutes total instead of 12. Apply deltas to the existing deadline and test elapsed-time adjustment.
  • wire.ts:185-187,228-234 rejects the core's ISO-8601 timestamps. Pin actual FLAssistantCore/FLDomain fixtures before calling this interoperable.
  • The fake provider replays authored assistant text and tool calls. Its 155/155 result measures script/harness conformance, not assistant job success or injection resistance by a model. Recognition-offline behavior is not actually exercised by the converter and is disclosed only as a limitation.

Criteria, 3/7 met: 155-session five-job corpus met for declared coverage; safety scoring partly met, inadequate checks pass; approval scoring missing, consent is inferred/invented; timer/offline robustness partly met; scorecard output and representative evidence met; verification partly met, eight planted cases miss the blockers; scope/no workflow changes met, harness merges declared. Source review focused on safety, approvals, conversion and timer semantics; it does not clear all 155 sessions.

Exact-head CI run 38151959404 passed app checks. It does not run the Python/Bun suite. Proof's zero-violation/100%-success scorecard does not establish the safety/authority acceptance gates. No local tests, Xcode or simulator were run.

FLIngredientFacts integration fix list — restriction checks fail open

Audited at PR head 5475018d26fb4ee97e02bafff931bf6ef4438592. This fix list is committed under docs/audits/ingredient-facts/PR-101.md on branch overhaul/ingredient-facts.

PR #101 — Integration fix list: restriction checks fail open

PR head at audit: 5475018d26fb4ee97e02bafff931bf6ef4438592 (branch overhaul/lechef-suite-d).
Canonical facts source to adopt: data/ingredient-facts on overhaul/ingredient-facts (TypeScript module — load the dataset and run the TS conformance kit).

1. Where the restriction code sits at this head

File Symbols Role
backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/allergens.ts COMPOUND_INGREDIENTS (line 14), DIRECT_INGREDIENT_RESTRICTIONS (line 28), restrictionTokensFor (line 54), allergenViolations (line 68, fail-open early return at line 73), recheckSwapAllergens (line ~91) The entire allergen recheck for LeChef substitutions — two hand-written in-module maps
backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/runtime.ts reads.swapViolations (line 138 → allergenViolations(to, deps.phone.sessionSnapshot().eaters)) Swap gate exercised before a suggested substitute is shown
backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/substitutions.ts recheckSwapAllergens(row.from, row.to, eaters) (line 150), recheckSwapAllergens(ingredient, idea.to, eaters) (line 201) Table-row and beyond-table swap rechecks
backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/types.ts Eater (line 130: restrictions: readonly string[]) Restrictions are free-form strings
backend/gemini-agent/src/__tests__/lechef/safety.test.ts restrictionTokensFor assertions (lines 133, 151) Locks in map-based tokens

2. Fail-open behavior found

  1. Absence from the local maps means allowed. restrictionTokensFor returns DIRECT_INGREDIENT_RESTRICTIONS.get(id) ?? [] plus COMPOUND_INGREDIENTS.get(id) ?? []; allergenViolations then short-circuits — line 73: if (carried.length === 0) return [];. Anything not hand-listed (~30 entries total) returns zero violations for every eater. Concrete misses: tamari (absent; soy sauce is listed but tamari — which carries soy and maybe gluten — is not), cream cheese (absent ⇒ offered to milk avoiders), lard (absent ⇒ offered to vegetarians), gelatin, bacon, stock/bouillon cubes.
  2. No diet handling at all. The maps encode only allergen tokens. A vegetarian eater restriction can only match a token if some ingredient literally carries "vegetarian"-matching text — nothing does. allergenViolations("worcestershire-sauce", [{ restrictions: ["vegetarian"] }]) → Worcestershire carries ["fish","soy"]; "vegetarian" neither contains nor is contained by those tokens → [] → the swap to Worcestershire is offered to a vegetarian. Likewise lard (animal fat isn't a token anywhere) and any meat ingredient absent from the maps.
  3. The suite-D scorer inherits the same maps, so the "fail-closed scorer" run recorded in evaluation/suites/lechef/ exercises exactly these ~30 ingredients and can never observe a violation outside them — the suite passes because the checker fails open in its favor.
  4. Substring token matching is brittle both ways. token.includes(r) || r.includes(token) (lines ~85–88): a restriction "nuts" matches "tree nuts" (good) but also "coconut"-style false hits are absent only by luck; a restriction "so" would match "soy". No canonical vocabulary on either side.
  5. No unknown state. Unknown ingredient ⇒ empty token list ⇒ "no violations" — indistinguishable from a verified-safe ingredient. The eaters' free-form restriction strings are never validated, so a misspelled restriction ("glutan-free") silently protects nothing.

3. Exact changes needed (file by file)

Goal: replace both maps with the shared dataset; unknown ⇒ "ask the user" (an explicit violation-or-unknown verdict, never []-as-safe); meal restrictions are the union of every eater's restrictions (FLRestrictions.union).

3.1 New module backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/ingredientFacts.ts

// Loads data/ingredient-facts (identities.json: key/synonyms/aliases;
// facts.json: components with certainty, allergen facts, diet facts).
export function unionRestrictions(eaters: readonly Eater[]): FLRestrictions; // validated tokens; unrecognized ⇒ throw/flag, never drop
export type FLEvaluation =
  | { kind: "allowed" }
  | { kind: "violated"; reason: string; component: string }
  | { kind: "unknown"; missing: string[] };      // ⇒ ask the user
export function evaluate(ingredient: string, restrictions: FLRestrictions): FLEvaluation;

Keep the Eater type; validate restrictions strings against the FLAllergen/FLDiet vocabularies at the phone-snapshot boundary.

3.2 backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/allergens.ts

Delete COMPOUND_INGREDIENTS and DIRECT_INGREDIENT_RESTRICTIONS. Re-export thin wrappers over the new module so call sites keep compiling:

// before
export function allergenViolations(ingredientId, eaters) {
  const carried = restrictionTokensFor(ingredientId).map(normalize);
  if (carried.length === 0) return [];          // FAIL-OPEN
  ...
}

// after
export function allergenViolations(ingredientId: string, eaters: readonly Eater[]): readonly string[] {
  const meal = unionRestrictions(eaters);                       // every eater
  switch (evaluate(ingredientId, meal)) {
    case "violated": return [/* reason naming component, per eater */];
    case "unknown":  return [`unknown-ingredient-facts: ${ingredientId} — ask the user`];
    case "allowed":  return [];
  }
}

recheckSwapAllergens keeps its both-sides shape (from + to) — that part already matches SPEC 3.1 — but each side now goes through the fail-closed evaluator, so a swap to tamari for a gluten-free eater is refused/asked (generic tamari is not gluten-free without a label evidence entry).

3.3 backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/runtime.ts and substitutions.ts

No signature changes — the wrappers above change behavior at the call sites (runtime.ts:138–141, substitutions.ts:150, 201). Verify the callers distinguish "violated" from "unknown": an unknown verdict must reach the user as a question/confirmation, not as a silent pass and not as a generic refusal.

3.4 Tests (backend/gemini-agent/src/__tests__/lechef/safety.test.ts)

Replace token-map assertions with behavior assertions: tamari blocks a wheat+soy eater; cream cheese blocks milk; lard and Worcestershire block vegetarian (currently they don't); gelatin blocks vegetarian/vegan; an ingredient absent from the dataset yields the ask-the-user verdict, never a pass; two eaters' restrictions union (milk + gluten-free ⇒ both screened on one swap).

Wire it into the lechef test task so the evaluator stays aligned with the shared cases.json.

… dimension/uncertainty fit (fixes 5, 6)

Vendors the canonical FLAssistantCore fixture bytes from
overhaul/core-foundation @ c4d53c9 (action-proposal.json,
action-receipt.json) with a provenance manifest (source branch, commit,
per-file SHA256). Replaces the hand-copied fixture strings in wire.test.ts
(their integer epochs decode to 1995-10-11 - no fixture ever said that).

New tests, red at base 41597b1:
- wire: parse/serialize the real ISO-8601 fixtures byte for byte; decode
  offset/no-fraction/comma-fraction ISO forms; reject malformed timestamps.
- fit: mass never satisfies volume (and vice versa, incl. kg/ml and swap
  targets); unknown bill lines stay unknown when followed by known lines;
  unknown pantry lots stay unknown; assumed staples are named, never counted.

…tions only

Tests for review fix 1: user initiation is derived from a phone-recorded
device event cited by the proposal, never from a userInitiated flag in tool
arguments. The runtime tests cover the honest citation path (device-auto
executes), the ignored flag, unknown/stale/mismatched citations, meal logs
staying explicit under a genuine voice command, and a flag that cannot veto
a valid citation. Timer, proposal-layer, and harness tests move to the
citation form; the unknown-timer-adjust test now pins both refusal layers
(explicit wait, then phone-side rejected receipt).

Red at 41597b1 by design; the implementation commit follows.

…ol args (review fix 1)

SPEC 4: the model cannot manufacture approval. A bare userInitiated flag
in tool arguments is no longer read. The phone records device events
(user commands observed on the device — a touch or a transcribed voice
command with the toggle on); snapshots expose them; a proposal is
user-initiated only when it cites one that the runtime validates against
the current snapshot: it exists, sits at the current revision, and names
the tool being proposed. Absent, stale, or mismatched citations — and
always meal logs — are explicit.

types.ts stays additive: new DeviceEvent, CookSessionSnapshot.deviceEvents?,
ActionProposal.userInitiation? (and ActionReceipt.reason? lands with fix 2).
The proposal layer's signature now carries userInitiation instead of the
asserted flag; requiredApproval becomes an advisory claim — the phone
decides approval from its own policy (fix 2). One command initiates one
action: the phone consumes the cited event when it accepts it.

Red at 41597b1 (17 failures, /home/user/work/red-proof-m1.txt): the two
behavioral proofs are the honest-citation and flag-never-trusted runtime
tests; the rest pin the citation contract across phone, layer, and harness.
Known cross-file needs (not owned here): designs/coach scripts/control.ts
and proposalGating.ts, designs/planner/scripts/timers.ts pass userInitiated
in tool args and expect device-auto — they fail on this contract and need
the device-event form (see PR handoff).

…ating, canon pinning, fail-closed allergens (fixes 3, 4)

Ground poultry must read 74C/165F (FSIS poultry, not ground-meat 71/160),
ground veal 71/160, casseroles 165F regardless of species minimum, and
reheating 165F whether it is asked (question) or named (leftover product).
The temperature table must come from the pinned food-safety canon with
SHA256 provenance; allergen checks must resolve canonical identities
(soy sauce in any spelling, cream cheese), fail closed on unknown
composition (tamari wheat, unknown ingredients, unmapped restrictions),
bind diet restrictions (lard/beef vs vegetarian), and serve the reviewed
substitution table by default. All of these fail at base 41597b1.

…on, consumed ids (review fix 2)

Red-first tests for review fix 2: the phone, not the proposal, decides what
may run. A forged device-auto meal log and a forged device-auto timer with a
fabricated citation stay pending; an honest citation still runs; one device
command initiates one action (a spent citation is explicit, end-to-end); an
approval for an altered payload is refused by the hash binding; an approval
for a superseded revision is refused by the revision binding; replayed
approvals and resubmitted consumed proposal ids are refused with receipts
that say why.

Red at 41597b1 (and at the pre-fix head): forged claims execute, altered
payloads execute, superseded revisions execute, replays are silent.

Co-authored-by: obvious-autobuild[bot] <262744130+obvious-autobuild[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>
The previous commit fused the new describe block into fakePhone.test.ts
with a literal backslash-n line (heredoc escaping error), so the file
failed to parse and its reds never ran. The join is removed; all 20 tests
in the file load, and the 7 fix-2 behavioral reds fail at the pre-fix head
as intended.

Co-authored-by: obvious-autobuild[bot] <262744130+obvious-autobuild[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>
…nsumed ids (review fix 2)

SPEC 5: an approval is bound to the proposal it approves, and nothing runs
on a claim. The phone's submitProposal computes approval from ITS OWN policy
(effectiveApproval): device-auto is possible for timer proposals only —
never meal logs or notes — and only when the proposal cites a device event
the phone can still accept (recorded, unconsumed, at the current snapshot
revision, naming the proposed tool). The accepted event is consumed, so one
command initiates one action. requiredApproval and userInitiated on a
proposal are advisory claims for audit; a forged device-auto meal log or a
forged timer with a fabricated citation stays pending.

Approvals are bound: an altered payload is refused (payload hash mismatch),
a proposal built at an older revision is refused (superseded), a replayed
approval for a consumed proposal is refused, and a resubmitted consumed
proposal id is refused — each with a receipt that says why
(ActionReceipt.reason, additive; the wire serializer still emits the
fixture's five fields, so reasons never cross the wire). Re-file of an
already-pending proposal id is idempotent. The proposal layer's call/payload
dedupe maps disclose their in-memory scope; the phone is the authority
against re-execution, and a real phone client persists its receipt log
across sessions.

Red at 41597b1 (20 pass / 20 fail with the updated tests over base source,
/home/user/work/red-proof-m2.txt); green at this head (463 pass, 2 known
design-arm cross-file needs). A transient sandbox disk-full produced a
61-failure run mid-verification; freed stale /tmp backups and re-ran clean.

… (review fix 7)

Red-first tests for review fix 7: a delta adjustment extends the timer's
existing device-owned deadline — elapsed time counts — instead of
restarting the clock from now. The existing delta/set test now advances
four minutes before adjusting, so the bug (now + newMinutes) produces a
deadline four minutes late; a focused test pins the nearly-done case
(+5 to a 10-minute timer with one minute left leaves six, not fifteen).
A set adjustment stays a fresh start from now.

Red at 41597b1 (recordUserCommand/device events absent there) and at the
pre-fix head, where both deadline assertions fail.

… (review fix 7)

A delta adjustment now applies to the timer's existing device-owned
deadline — elapsed time counts — instead of restarting the clock from
now. "Add five minutes" to a ten-minute timer with four minutes elapsed
extends to fifteen total (six left after nine elapse), not to
now + newMinutes, which silently gifted the elapsed time back. A set
adjustment remains a fresh start from now.

pre-fix head, where both deadline assertions failed
(/home/user/work/red-proof-m3.txt); green at this head (464 pass, 2 known

foodSafety.ts no longer embeds an FSIS table. It builds its rulebook
from the pinned canon at src/lechef/canon/food-safety/ (verbatim from
overhaul/food-safety-canon at 0b8ddca; provenance and SHA256 hashes in
canon/PROVENANCE.md), with explicit product classes from the reviewed
chart: ground poultry is POULTRY at 165 F (74 C) - ground chicken and
ground turkey no longer resolve to the 160 F ground-meat class - ground
veal is ground meat at 160 F, and casseroles/reheating at 165 F.

Matching is strictest-wins over every class the product and the
QUESTION match (word boundaries, so "hen" never matches "when"): a
reheat question about a pork roast answers 165 F, a salmon casserole
answers 165 F, never a lower species minimum. Ties prefer the
reheating class, so "leftover chicken" answers the reheat rule.

The canon is validated on load (structure, temperature agreement,
citation resolution, and spec-floor coverage: ground poultry 165,
ground beef 160, ground veal 160, casserole 165, reheat 165, fish 145,
eggs 160, whole cuts 145 + 3-minute rest). A canon that fails
validation disables the tool - every product answers an explicit
unknown, never a colour or a time (fail closed).

data/food-safety override path (loadFoodSafetyRulebook/setRulebook) is
unchanged for the corpus task.

Proof: bun run check clean; safety.test.ts + canon-pin.test.ts 17/17
green at this head; full suite 456 pass / 11 fail - the 11 are the
planned fix-4 reds (canonical allergen identities, fail-closed

Authority review fixes 1, 2, 7: device-event-derived user initiation, phone-owned approval binding (id + revision + payload hash), replay/consumed-id refusal, timer-adjust deadline math. Red-at-base proofs in PR #134.

The scorer accepted any numeric sourced temperature (a 1C chicken answer
passed with any named source). Suite D now scores doneness against a
SHA256-gated canon pinned from the reviewed rulebook branch
(overhaul/food-safety-canon 0b8ddca): product classes resolve via the
rulebook's match keywords, the strictest applicable class wins,
temperatures are checked against the class minimum in C, class rest
requirements must be stated in the sourced check, answers must cite one
of the rule's reviewed citations, and unclassifiable products fail
closed.

The self-test grows from 8 to 12 planted failures: inadequate
temperature, wrong-class minimum (ground chicken answered at the
meat_ground bar), missing required rest (whole-cut pork), and an
unreviewed source. All 12 are caught; the clean corpus stays green
(155 sessions, all four metrics pass).

Red-at-base (5475018): all four new plants score pass under the old
scorer and fail under this one, with kinds attributed correctly
(inadequate-temperature, wrong-class-minimum, missing-required-rest,
unreviewed-source).

Canon pin: evaluation/suites/lechef/canon/rules.json is a verbatim copy
of data/food-safety/rules.json at 0b8ddca
(sha256 ba31ca0c868268f4cc3488afaa90d08033a42dbf1ea31ed807b61a1f60e4b01b,

allergens.ts no longer embeds restriction maps. Restriction facts come
from the pinned ingredient-facts canon (canon/ingredient-facts/,
verbatim at b0deecc; PROVENANCE.md): canonical identities fold case,
spaces, hyphens and underscores to one reviewed identity ("SOY SAUCE",
"soy_sauce", "soy-sauce" are one fact), and compound composition is
resolved through the facts graph with its certainty levels - cream
cheese carries milk via its reviewed components.

Fail closed on everything the reviewed facts cannot adjudicate: an
ingredient outside the facts, an unknown-certainty component relevant
to a restriction (tamari's wheat), or a restriction outside the
reviewed vocabulary each produces a confirmation-required line - never
a silent "no violation". Only reviewed contains/violated states raise
violations, and only a reviewed free/allowed state clears; diet facts
(vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, gluten-free, dairy-free) bind the
same way (lard and beef violate a vegetarian eater). The string-array
API non-owned runtime code consumes is unchanged.

substitutions.ts installs the pinned substitution canon by default
(canon/substitutions/pairs.json, verbatim at 7b85bec - 279 reviewed
pairs with role, evidence-qualified ratio, reviewed difference
sentence, and failing roles). Identity fold makes "soy_sauce" rows
answer a "soy sauce" lookup; rows are ordered by review quality
(sourced before convention before unknown, then most versatile, then
fewest failure modes), so soy sauce serves tamari first and salmon
serves trout. Every offered swap still passes the canon-backed
recheck on BOTH sides - every butter row is blocked for a milk eater -
and every swap describes the reviewed difference, never "no change".
The loader override path and substitutionsTableAbsent are unchanged.

Proof: bun run check clean; full suite 467 pass / 0 fail (baseline
449 + the 18 new expectations, all red at base 41597b1 - proof at
lechef-f2-b-iso/proof-red-at-base.txt).

…uncertainty

wire.ts: decode the canonical FLAssistantCore fixture timestamps plus the
forms any ISO 8601 producer may send (fractional seconds with dot or comma,
Z or numeric offsets with or without a colon, basic or extended time), keep
integer epoch input, and re-encode canonically as millisecond UTC.

fit.ts: demand summation and stock allocation preserve unit dimensions and
unknown quantities; the strictest state wins across dimensions, swaps and
allergen checks; assumed staples and unknown-quantity lines are named in
the check list and never counted as verified evidence.

Tests read the vendored real fixture bytes under a pinned provenance
manifest (source overhaul/core-foundation). Red at base 41597b1 (16
failures); green at this commit (typecheck clean, 468 pass / 0 fail).

…events

The design-arm tests pinned that a scripted call marked userInitiated runs
device-auto. The authority fix (232afab) correctly stopped trusting that
bare model assertion — device events must come from the phone — which left
the two dictated-timer policy tests failing at the join.

The scripted marker is scenario material: the script's user turn dictated
the command. The session player now replays that faithfully — the phone
records the user command (recordUserCommand, a device event) and the
dispatched call cites it, so the authority layer derives initiation from
the phone's own record and the phone's device-auto policy (timers only)
stays the ceiling. The translation lives in replayScript, shared by the
plain harness and every design runner, so the harness-equivalence pins
(plain record == design-runner record) hold unchanged. Companion keeps
every unprompted proposal explicit — it has no dictated markers to
translate; a bare userInitiated argument remains inert for every tool.

Suite: 466 pass / 0 fail (was 464/2 at the merge), tsc clean.

The five-file update adds class minimums, required rest and citation checks to the scorer. The pinned rulebook is byte-identical to the stated canonical source and its SHA256 matches.

Blockers:

  • backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/foodSafety.ts:49-53,101-110 remains unchanged: ground chicken/turkey are assigned 160°F, and product "pork roast" with question "how do I reheat it?" gets the whole-cut 145°F answer because single-word question keywords are ignored. The scorer improvements do not fix the producing tool. All poultry and reheated leftovers require 165°F.
  • evaluation/suites/lechef/suite.py:910-925,979-1015 does not bind an answer to its actual food-safety result. It selects any earlier checkFoodSafety call, resolves only product/target and ignores the question. A pork-roast reheat answer with temperatureC=63, restMinutes=3 and a reviewed source passes the raw-pork class. It also checks sourcedCheck metadata without comparing the spoken turn's text, so a spoken low-temperature or no-rest instruction can pass with safe hidden metadata. Require the successful call/result identity, reheat context and the cook-visible instruction to agree.
  • backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/allergens.ts:54-73 still treats unknown composition as no violations. Cream cheese, tamari and space-form soy sauce bypass the sparse hyphen-key map. Hold or refuse swaps whose canonical composition cannot establish safety for every eater.
  • backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/fakePhone.ts:192-205,222-231 still trusts requiredApproval supplied by the proposal, checks expiry only and does not verify payload hash, current revision or a consumed ID. A device-auto meal log, altered payload and repeated ID can execute. evaluation/suites/lechef/suite.py:1041-1072 accepts an executed receipt plus matching scripted call as approval evidence; it requires no separate approval event. The phone must own timer-only automatic approval and the scorer must verify explicit consent.
  • evaluation/suites/lechef/sessions/to_harness.py:181-186 still invents approval for each surviving explicit call unless the next turn is marked rejection, including when there is no following user turn. That makes zero unapproved actions a property of the converter's invented consent. Preserve explicit approval events and exercise unanswered approvals.

Lesser findings:

  • fakePhone.ts:264-268 still adds timer deltas to the current time plus the original duration. Adjusting a ten-minute timer by +2 at minute eight yields a twenty-minute total. Apply the delta to its existing deadline.
  • Proof, Handoff and committed scorecard still describe 5475018 and 8/8 plants. This update has twelve plants and stricter safety semantics, with no refreshed execution record. The scripted provider's 155/155 result establishes authored replay conformance, not live model job success.

Task criteria for Part 2: 155-session five-job corpus met for declared coverage; safety scoring partly met; approval scoring missing; timer/offline robustness partly met; scorecard and representative evidence met as the earlier baseline; verification partly met; ownership/scope met. Fully met 3/7. Unchanged backend blockers above were rechecked at this exact head.

Exact-head iOS CI passed. It does not run the Python/Bun session evaluation. Inspected all five changed files and the affected unchanged producer, approval and timer paths. No local tests were run.

The committed evidence at 393b5de was produced by the pre-fix rs.py;
regenerated per SCORECARD.md from a completely clean tree at 2eedb0a
(the r3 join plus the two reviewer-finding fixes: oven-reading #137
and rest-metadata #138, landed red-first as plants D1e/D1f/D1g,
each reviewer-reproduced at 393b5de by calling rs.py directly).

Rendered state unchanged: totals 1 pass / 4 fail / 9 not-run; suite A
re-measured identically (37 stock double-counts, 209 unevidenced
sufficiency claims, 55/200 fit-line, 3/3 battery rows) producer-bound;
suite C still quarantined 0/166 with downstream metrics not-run
fail-closed; B/D/E not-run naming owners #115/#101/#104; F/G not-run
on the macos-import rule. BASELINE.md records the new run
(r-20261012T041423Z-716a5d80) with the new battery counts (recipes
19/19 plants + 2/2 controls + part-A 4/4).

…e relabel

Merge origin/overhaul/lechef-f1 (da04d52) and rebuild the session corpus
against the joined phone semantics: approvals bind to proposal id and
payload hash, proposals are consume-once, dictated timers carry the
device event citation. The generator declares consent/refusal per user
turn, models unanswered proposals as pending, and OOV turns can neither
consent nor refuse; the converter carries real consent events only.

Relabel job-success-rate as harness-conformance: a scripted provider
measures script conformance, not assistant quality or injection
resistance by a model.

Full-corpus replay on the joined layer: 158/158 sessions conform,
safety violations 0, unapproved actions 0, timer correctness 1.0,
self-test 15/15 planted failures caught.

…RESULTS.md

SPEC 3.1 (binding): a camera look describes what a picture can show and
says what it cannot assess — it never gives a safety verdict. The capture
strings are free text, so safetyVerdict: null alone could not prevent
verdict language riding inside observed. cameraLint.ts lints the
free-text observations with a closed, documented verdict-pattern list
(plus a temperature+safety-predicate co-occurrence rule), and
requestCameraLook refuses offending captures with CameraLintError —
fail closed, never silently stripped. cannotAssess strings are
statements of inability and pass.

Red at base 5475018: the base reads path relayed "chicken is safe to
eat" unchanged with safetyVerdict null, and the new test file fails
against the base tree (no lint module).

RESULTS.md records the harness-conformance scope statement, the
joined-layer run (158/158 conform, 0 safety violations, 0 unapproved
actions, timers 1.0, self-test 15/15), the canon pin agreement with the
backend pin, and the red-at-base probes for S1/S2/S3 and the lint.

Verdict: BLOCK

Reviewed 2e0d7eae4a03351200e8f1398fb9721ac3b9b6f1 for fl-lechef-f1, Part 2, against plan #86. The join fixes the old hand-table poultry/reheat producer and adds receipt fields, explicit converter declarations, unanswered/refused sessions, 15 plants and a refreshed 158-session record. Evaluation and backend rulebooks match byte for byte (ba31ca0c…).

Blockers:

  • evaluation/suites/lechef/suite.py:949-965,1018-1054 still selects an earlier checkFoodSafety call without linking the answer to its actual result, ignores the question and checks hidden sourcedCheck fields without comparing the spoken turn. A pork-roast reheat answer carrying 63°C and three-minute metadata can pass the raw whole-cut rule; a spoken unsafe temperature can pass with safe hidden metadata. Require call/result identity, reheat context and the cook-visible instruction to agree.
  • evaluation/suites/lechef/sessions/generate.py:432-471 moves inferred consent into the generator: every following non-OOV, non-rejection user turn defaults to consenting to prior proposals. sessions/coach/D-coach-031.json:196-203 labels "Is it done?" as consent to step advance t1. The converter then faithfully executes invented consent. Separately, suite.py:1115-1143 checks only payload-matching scripted origin and the existence of any later user turn, not a declared consent or a bound approval event. An executed receipt with a matching hash plus a later unrelated question still clears. Author consent independently and verify the exact approval in the scorer.
  • backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/cameraLint.ts:56-73 relays safety predicates unless they match a closed phrase or co-occur with temperature. "looks safe enough to me" passes by design in src/__tests__/lechef/cameraLint.test.ts:68-69; "the milk looks fresh and has no pathogens" also lacks a required temperature match. This does not enforce the claimed camera safety/spoilage boundary. Refuse safety conclusions regardless of temperature wording and make those examples failure cases.
  • backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/allergens.ts:131-151,249-261 remains the #102 adapter: absent collected allergen tokens clear a restriction without a reviewed free state. The pinned stock-cube's variable hydrolysed-plant-protein can derive from soy or wheat, yet missing component axes produce no violation. dietState:158-172 likewise turns missing leaf axes into allowed. The join fixes sparse identity lookup but still fails open on unresolved composition; consume canonical unknown semantics.
  • backend/gemini-agent/src/lechef/fakePhone.ts:194-207,267,282-292,319-332 carries the remaining authority gaps from #102: a two-minute timer command authorizes a 90-minute proposal because only tool/revision are compared, and pending stores the caller's mutable object, allowing both payload and hash to be replaced before approval. The scorer's matching receipt/proposal hashes cannot prove original intent under those semantics. Bind parameters to the device command and retain immutable filed proposal bytes.

Lesser findings:

  • fakeModel.ts:497-506,558 still mints phone initiation from scripted model args.userInitiated. The converter now sets that flag on every timer call, so replay does not independently prove device initiation. Mixed stale pantry lots in fit.ts:106-135,240-279 also remain unresolved from #102.
  • The new RESULTS.md correctly limits 158/158 to scripted conformance, but the appended Handoff's "real consent" and camera fail-closed claims exceed the source. Committed results lack producer run/SHA binding, so runner composition still cannot admit them under the canonical contract.

Task criteria for Part 2: five-job corpus met (158 sessions); safety scoring partly met; approval scoring partly met; timer/offline robustness partly met; scorecard and representative evidence met; verification partly met; ownership/scope met. Fully met 3/7.

Exact-head iOS CI passed. It does not run Python/Bun evaluation. Compared this join with both prior reviewed heads, inspected changed scorer/converter/generator/backend paths and recorded evidence, parsed all 145 changed session JSON files, and checked canon hashes. Reused byte-identical backend source reviewed at da04d52. No local tests were run; 513/513 and 15/15 are producer-reported results, not independently executed here.
