Part of the evaluation-first programme in planning/PLAN.md (branch docs/spec-overhaul-20261011). This PR delivers the scorecard instrument itself: the runner, the suite contract, the expected-suite registry, the wiring contract for later suites, the delivered suites with committed evidence, and the recorded baseline.

Base note: this branch is cut from 2e77938, the minimal-product stack head that draft PR #87 fast-forwards alpha to (PLAN.md, "Branches"). Until #87 lands, this PR's diff also shows the stack; after it lands, only evaluation/, ci/pending-workflows/ and docs remain. Base alpha per the plan's branch rules.

What is here

  • evaluation/run.py — scorecard runner. Discovers suites from evaluation/suites/*/suite.json merged over evaluation/registry.json (A–G, each with its owner task and runner-owned metric bars), runs each suite in a subprocess with a timeout, fail-closes every crash/timeout/missing-output/malformed-result to not-run with the reason, preserves and validates each suite's producer binding (run_id, git.sha, started_at — a suite result is admitted only when its identity matches the current run; a cached or re-stamped result is refused), truncates each suite's out/<id>/ before execution, and refuses imports without provenance (imported results must carry the producing run's full git SHA + run URL, REST-verified against the GitHub API at import — a forged SHA and an unreachable API both fail closed). Derives pass/fail itself from value + bar via evaluation/suite_contract.py — a broken or lying check cannot report pass; evaluation/registry.json owns the labels, bars, and required intervals for every suite, and _enforce_registry fails any missing/extra metric or differing bar with the exact mismatch named. Writes evaluation/out/scorecard.{json,md}; the git snapshot is sampled before the run writes, so the header reads clean on a clean tree.
  • evaluation/suite_contract.py — the schema + status-derivation module shared by runner and suites (conservative interval bounds; a declared pass on a violated bar is stripped to the honest fail; not-run requires a reason; every admitted emission must carry letter + title matching the registry — a manifest cannot set metrics). evaluation/registry.json now carries the runner-owned labels and bars for every suite (A:4, B:4, C:5, D:4, E:3, F:7, G:2 metrics; D renamed Harness conformance (% of scripted cook jobs), ≥ 90).
  • evaluation/CONTRACTS.md — one index binding every suite to the canonical sources it consumes (rulebook, datasets, schemas, identifier registries), with the binding availability rule: a canonical source absent from the scored tree makes every dependent check fail closed with a reason naming the absent source — never pass, never silently skipped. Points suites F/G at docs/screens/a11y-identifiers.md (overhaul/design-system, PR Design system: FLDesignTokens + FLDesignSystem #96) as the canonical a11y contract; defines no competing list.
  • Suites: A pantry-truth (draft PR eval(pantry-truth): suite A — pantry fit-line truth bar (baseline measured) #91) and C recipes (draft PR Suite C (recipes): rights manifest, RS linter, allergen lint, band coverage #92) joined at their fixed branches; F ui-polish + G journeys (draft PR Add evaluation suites F (ui-polish) and G (journeys) + held eval-macos.yml #89) unchanged with their committed evidence. Suite C scores only the product tree's own corpus (data/recipes/corpus.jsonl + originals + the tree's rights manifests) and falls back to the bundled catalog apps/ios/Resources/data.json as an honest failing baseline — it never scores harness-authored fixtures, and its fixtures live only under fixtures/selftest/. Its food-safety rulebook is a pinned verbatim snapshot of overhaul/food-safety-canon @ 2e03467d (see canon/PROVENANCE.md). Doneness endpoints are cook-visible and affirmative: an oven or pan setting is never a food reading even inside a sentence that also mentions a thermometer — the reading must belong to a thermometer clause about the food itself — a negated instruction cannot supply an endpoint, the stated rest comes only from the text the cook reads (rest_minutes metadata never substitutes for it, a metadata-vs-text disagreement is flagged, and a missing text rest fails closed where one is required), and conflicting lower endpoints are rejected. Rights require every permission affirmative. Allergen and diet claims resolve only from the FLIngredientFacts snapshot pinned byte-for-byte to PR FLIngredientFacts: canonical ingredient facts with fail-closed restriction evaluation #127 b0deecce — a known local alias cannot clear gluten-free/dairy-free without reviewed composition evidence, and unknown names are refused. Quantity evidence resolves from the corpus record itself: per-line source_grams, conversions resolved through cited rows the corpus record carries, and scale measurements linked to the particular weighed line — never recipe-level claims on trust. Suites A and C stamp the FL_RUN_BINDING producer binding on their run outputs. Suite A emits its registry identity on every emission path (the scorecard renders A. Pantry truth, not ?.) and fails its plan-probe battery closed when a required PLAN.md row goes missing.
  • ci/pending-workflows/eval-linux.yml, ci/pending-workflows/eval-macos.yml — CI proposals ONLY, staged for Sam's personal approval (standing rule: no CI or workflow edits by the fleet, nothing installed on alpha). Each carries a first-line comment with its purpose and trigger. Nothing in .github/workflows/ is touched by this PR.
  • evaluation/out/ — committed evidence, regenerated from a clean tree at the joined head 2eedb0a (run r-20261012T041423Z-716a5d80): 1 pass · 4 fail · 9 not-run — values unchanged from the r3 record, because the round-2 fixes hardened the linter against the reviewer's two reproductions rather than moving the measured product values — plus evaluation/out/BASELINE.md — the recorded baseline every later round diffs against (refreshed at the same joined head). (The previously committed "5 pass · 7 fail · 8 not-run" state scored suite C against harness fixtures with a 530/530 rights-clear pass — that was the review's finding; it is gone: the bundled catalog quarantines 0/166 rights-clear and everything downstream reports not-run fail-closed.)

$ python3 evaluation/run.py --self-test
self-test ok: 36/36 runner cases + suites behaved as required

$ python3 evaluation/tests/planted_failures.py --expect-green
all 8 plants caught: the runner refused every forgery

$ python3 evaluation/run.py --all
scorecard: 1 pass, 4 fail, 9 not-run

The self-test is data-driven and proves it bites: on the pre-fix runner content it runs as a FAIL record — exit 2, with exactly the review's defect set uncaught. At the joined head it is 36/36, exit 0, including the r3 plants and the round-2 reviewer reproductions: cook-visible thermometer endpoints (an oven temperature is not a food reading — planted as D1e with the reviewer's exact sentence, "Heat the oven to 350°F and check the chicken with a thermometer." — and the reading must belong to a thermometer clause about the food; negated instructions fail closed), cook-visible rest (the stated rest comes only from the text the cook reads: metadata 3 with text "Rest 1 minute" yields 1.0 with the disagreement flagged — plant D1f — and metadata 3 with no rest in the text yields none — plant D1g), canonical allergen composition (local aliases cannot clear gluten-free/dairy-free), producer-identity preservation (a cached passing result re-stamped by the runner is refused), provenance-gated imports (a forged git.sha and an unreachable GitHub API both fail closed), per-line quantity evidence (an invented conversion_ref or a recipe-level scale_measurements cannot clear a weighed line), and originals-without-corpus scored as product data rather than falling back to the bundled baseline.

Every fix part shipped red-at-base first: the planted-failure battery at the pre-fix base 9e04af4 admits the review defects as passing evidence (committed under evaluation/tests/evidence-base-plants.txt); the same battery at the joined head refuses them all (evidence-branch-plants.txt). The round-2 reviewer reproductions shipped the same way — evidence-red-oven-reading.txt (the direct call returning 350.0, battery red) and evidence-red-rest-metadata.txt (both repros returning 3.0, battery red), refused at the joined head per evidence-green-oven-reading.txt and evidence-green-rest-metadata.txt. Per-suite batteries at the joined head, all exit 0 on clean clones: recipes suite 19/19 plants with both passing controls held (whole-cut 145°F text and poultry 165°F text) and the part-A safety battery 4/4; allergen-facts verdict self-tests 7/7 (B1/B2 failing at base, passing with no skips on the fix branch); suite-C fixed-contract self-test 4/4. Each part was verified on a fresh clone before joining, and the full battery re-run on the final merged tree.

The committed scorecard (run r-20261012T041423Z-716a5d80, git 2eedb0a) binds run id + git SHA with no dirty flag (the earlier snapshot-after-writes bug — headers always read dirty — is fixed: git state is sampled before the run writes). Suite A runs producer-bound on Linux (Swift 6.4, 42.4s warm cache this run) and renders ## A. Pantry truth with the honest product baseline — stock counted twice 37 (bar == 0), sufficiency claimed without quantity evidence 209 (bar == 0), fit-line text correct 55/200 (bar == 200), plan battery rows present 3/3 pass. Suite C quarantines the bundled catalog (0/166 rights-clear vs bar ≥ 400) and reports its four downstream metrics not-run fail-closed with that reason. B/D/E report not-run naming their owners (PRs #115/#101/#104). F/G refuse the stale committed macOS results (imports carry no producing git.sha). Suite A and C results.json carry the verified FL_RUN_BINDING (run id, git SHA, started-at). Against the real licensed corpus (draft PR #131 Proof): rights-clear passes 403, quantity evidence fails on 9.28% of weighed lines (the conversion rows that close this land with corpus PR #113), allergen passes 0 (FLIngredientFacts data pending PR #127), coverage 100% — reference only; the bundled-baseline scorecard never synthesizes them. Full detail, including each suite's path to pass: evaluation/out/BASELINE.md.

Attribution

Every commit on this branch, including the programme sub-threads' work, is authored exactly by Sam Gu 127461594+SamGu-NRX@users.noreply.github.com; authorship was verified per commit before each push; no commit signing claimed. Every commit carries the Co-authored-by: obvious-autobuild[bot] trailer with one recorded exception: sibling-merge commit 1c30aae (part C merging the part-A head into its branch) lacks the trailer. Its content is unchanged part-A work already on the branch; the history is preserved as-is rather than rewritten, and the deviation is disclosed here.

Handoff

Done — every r3 review blocker, both lesser findings, and the two round-2 reviewer reproductions are fixed on this branch (joined head 2eedb0a), each behind red-at-base planted failures:

1–2 — cook-visible doneness and rest minimums (suite C safety lint) → part A, draft PR #128, joined 17953ed1: an affirmative internal endpoint attached to the food is parsed, conflicting lower endpoints are rejected, the cook-visible rest is required against the class minimum, negated instructions fail closed;
3 — canonical allergen composition (FLIngredientFacts only, claims held when facts are missing) → part B, draft PR #130, joined 496d2c6: the facts snapshot is pinned byte-for-byte to PR #127 b0deecce; known aliases without reviewed composition no longer clear claims;
4 — producer-bound results + provenance-gated imports + registry-owned bars/intervals → part D, draft PR #129, joined 2d48aee: the runner preserves and validates the suite's emitted run/SHA/time, verifies import provenance (REST), and owns every label, bar, and interval in the registry;
5 — per-line quantity evidence resolved from the corpus record + the originals-path lesser finding → part C, draft PR #131, joined e4c4998;
6 — suite A letter identity and plan-probe completeness (lesser) → part E, joined 05dda6a3;
7 — FL_RUN_BINDING stamps for suites A/C and the refreshed clean joined-head scorecard + BASELINE.md → f5fe7f1, fa4c902, 393b5de, and the round-2 join 2eedb0a (via 71b5518);
8 — the round-2 reviewer reproductions (both still live at 393b5de, found by calling rs.py directly): the oven-reading misbind → draft PR #137 (plant D1e, joined 71b5518) — the internal reading must belong to a thermometer clause about the food, appliance settings never count even in a sentence that also mentions a thermometer; the rest-metadata override → draft PR #138 (plants D1f/D1g, joined 2eedb0a) — _stated_rest now takes only the step text (the metadata parameter is removed from the signature), a metadata-vs-text disagreement is flagged naming both values, and a missing text rest fails closed where one is required.

Left — Sam's review and merge decision (this draft PR; merge with a merge commit, no rebase/force-push); suites B/D/E delivered by their owner PRs #115/#101/#104 per the SCORECARD.md file contract; the real corpus landing via #113/#107 so suite C can score actual data (path to pass in BASELINE.md); FLIngredientFacts data on overhaul/ingredient-facts (currently a README skeleton at 5597db7) to retire the interim allergen table; suites F/G re-emitting their committed imports with producing-run identity (git.sha + real Actions run ids, REST-verified at import — tracked in PR #129's Handoff) and a real macOS CI run at this head; live GitHub API verification of import provenance (the reachability failure path is enforced by plant; the live arm is UNVERIFIED-NATIVE from this programme's sandboxes). The executable FLFoodSafety Swift linter and iOS rendering remain UNVERIFIED-NATIVE (no native run at this head; the rulebook data itself is integrated and canonical).

How to continue — diff every later round against evaluation/out/BASELINE.md; add suites per evaluation/SCORECARD.md (the runner picks them up with no runner changes; each must pass its own planted-failure self-test and stamp FL_RUN_BINDING); run python3 evaluation/run.py --self-test and python3 evaluation/tests/planted_failures.py --expect-green before pushing; commit refreshed evaluation/out/ with the change that produced it, from a clean tree; stage any CI proposals under ci/pending-workflows/ for Sam — never install or edit workflows.

…rd doc

fl-eval-harness-f1 milestone 1. evaluation/run.py runs the PLAN.md
scorecard suites (A-G) with fail-closed not-run handling, derives
pass/fail from value+bar+interval (a broken or lying check cannot
report pass), and writes evaluation/out/scorecard.json + scorecard.md.
The runner self-test plants crash, honest-fail, honest-pass, liar and
missing-inputs suites and asserts every one is caught; each delivered
suite must also pass its own planted-failure self-test. Suites B, D
and E wire in by convention: their owning tasks add
evaluation/suites/{learning,lechef,community}/ per SCORECARD.md.

Base: 2e77938, the minimal-product stack head alpha fast-forwards to
via draft PR #87 (PLAN.md, Branches).

…ntrast/target/XXL arm, self-test

- macOS arm (XCUITest): audits the running app for body-text contrast
  (< 4.5:1), touch-target minimums (44 pt; 64 pt cook actions) and clipped
  primary labels at XXL Dynamic Type; emits a raw issue payload per screen,
  attached to the xcresult bundle and cross-checked host-side.
- Static arm (any host, supporting evidence with its own metric ids):
  WCAG contrast math over declared AppTheme tokens, declared minimum-size
  inventory, and XXL clipping-risk markers over committed SwiftUI source.
- Fail-closed adapter: counts derived from raw issue lists, never accepted
  from the emitter; payload/xcresult contradictions report not-run.
- Self-test: planted corrupted fixture, lying emitter, flipped labels,
  channel gap, missing-inputs — all caught (5/5).
- On Linux the macOS-arm metrics report not-run with the precise reason;
  the static arm measures the committed base (5 contrast pairs < 4.5:1,
  3 frame minimums < 44 pt, 27 XXL clipping risks) as supporting evidence.

…unts-as-failure, self-test

- macOS arm (XCUITest): drives the app through all nine journeys the
  programme plan declares runnable (first run, scan and review, Tonight,
  recipe, cook, complete, share, challenge, taste-profile edit), attaching
  one payload with raw per-step results and per-journey status
  (passed | failed | crashed | blocked). A journey blocked by a bug or a
  missing surface is a real failure for the 100% bar, never not-run.
- Harness test gates the run: if the app cannot reach the tab bar,
  per-journey results are untrustworthy and the metric fail-closes.
- Static arm (any host, supporting evidence): per-journey entry-point
  discovery over committed SwiftUI source (g_static_entry_points_discoverable,
  bar == 9, conservative lower-bound value with a widened interval in the
  detail). Measured on the committed base: 7/9 (share and challenge have no
  discoverable entry affordance).
- Fail-closed adapter: journey counts derived from the raw per-journey list;
  payload/xcresult contradictions (all-passed payload vs failed test case or
  the inverse), missing journey ids, unexplained blocks, missing harness case
  and a failed harness are rejected -> not-run, never pass.
- Self-test: planted corrupted fixture, lying emitter, flipped labels,
  missing journey id, blocked-without-reason, missing xcresult channel —
  all caught (6/6).
- On Linux the macOS-arm metric reports not-run with the precise reason.

…total

Reported by the suites F+G sub-thread: suite self-test successes
incremented the caught count but not the total, printing e.g.
'ok: 7/5'. Every attempted suite self-test now counts.

Integrates suites F (ui-polish) and G (journeys): XCUITest arms with
fail-closed adapters, static supporting arms, committed fixtures and
sample outputs, per-suite self-tests (5/5, 6/6), and the held local
eval-macos.yml workflow is NOT included (workflow-scope push blocker,
held on the sub-thread branch).

…ows, never installed

Correction from the operator: Sam's standing rule is no CI or workflow
edits by anyone in the fleet, lead included; nothing is installed on
alpha. The eval-linux.yml and eval-macos.yml proposals now live staged
under ci/pending-workflows/ with first-line purpose and trigger
comments for Sam's personal approval. Until approved, all Linux checks
run inside the working sandbox with exact commands and output pasted
into PR Proof sections; native checks rely on the existing iOS CI
(build-and-test, macos-26) and anything else is labelled
UNVERIFIED-NATIVE. All references that promised the proposed workflows
as installed runners are rewritten; suite not-run reasons now name the
approval path. Replaces the held local commits (held/eval-linux-workflow
72635c8, eval/suite-ui-journeys local 85c3172) — deleted/uninstalled,
content preserved here.

…3.2 oracle, production fit probe

- suite.json manifest (id pantry-truth, letter A) per SCORECARD.md
- seeded manifest builder grounded on the production bundled corpus
  (apps/ios/Resources/data.json; assets/recipes.json does not exist on
  any branch) with auxiliary USDA catalog grounding
- SPEC 3.2 fit oracle: per-line ledger states, corpus tripwire,
  probe-output invariants, pair verdicts, Wilson interval (reported in
  detail/evidence; equality bars carry no interval field)
- SwiftPM probe staging the production pure-logic fit subset byte-verbatim
  against the vendored GRDB; composition mirrors
  RecommendationEngine.findRecipes; availableIds replicate the
  AppDependencies inventory-lots-only boundary; debug build for
  @testable; abort-on-call sqlite3_snapshot shims (link-only)
- orchestrator writes contract results.json plus evidence.md,
  pairs_200.json, manifest_summary.json under evaluation/out/pantry-truth/
- self-test: 6 planted corruptions, caught 6/6

Co-authored-by: obvious-autobuild[bot] <262744130+obvious-autobuild[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>
Suite C (recipes) corpus layer, per SCORECARD.md:

- corpus/authored.json: 33 original seed recipes spanning all declared
  cuisines, meal slots and time bands, with FSIS thermometer safety
  records and bounded timers.
- corpus_build.py: deterministic pairing grammar (cuisine frameworks x
  sides x starches) composing 497 additional fixtures; reruns
  byte-identical (sha256-verified).
- conversions.json: household-measure grams table (approximate fixture
  values, labelled as needing review before production use).
- allergens.json: ingredient alias -> allergen/diet-class table plus
  machine-checkable diet-claim definitions (forbidden class lists).
- rights_manifest.json: per-source rights records (origin, license,
  access date, license evidence, permission booleans) required by the
  rights gate.

The bundled app catalog (166 positional-array recipes, no license
evidence) is audited by the suite and quarantined, not copied here.

Part of the fl-eval-harness-f1 scorecard, suite C.

Baseline measured on the CURRENT app code via evaluation/run.py
--suite pantry-truth (Swift 6.4, Linux, corpus apps/ios/Resources/
data.json sha256 62d9ed0ae769…, seed 20261011, 13 verbatim production
files compiled against vendored GRDB):

- stock_counted_twice: 37 findings over 62 plan scenarios (bar == 0) — fail.
  Production calls both dinners makeable while the shared lot cannot cover
  both; quantities are dropped at the AppDependencies boundary.
- sufficient_claimed_without_quantity_evidence: 209 audited line-instances
  (bar == 0) — fail. 77 short stock, 54 scan-only, 39 recognition-estimated,
  39 stale evidence: production counts matched on ID membership alone.
- fit_line_text_correct_200: 55 of 200 pairs (bar == 200) — fail.
  All 50 full-coverage pairs correct (the oracle matches production when
  quantities are simply present); every quantity-evidence class fails.
  Wilson 95% interval [0.2226, 0.3501] carried in detail/evidence.

3 plan anomalies recorded (ranked-window coverage-visibility gap,
verified: 30 recipes exact-makeable under a plan pantry, 20 surfaced).

Suite self-test: caught 6/6 planted failures. Runner: 0 pass, 3 fail,
0 not-run; runner self-test ok.

Implements evaluation/suites/recipes per evaluation/SCORECARD.md:

- suite.json: manifest (id recipes, letter C, owner_task
  'fl-eval-harness-f1 (suite C sub-thread)', platform any).
- suite.py: --out/--repo-root driver writing results.json in the
  contract schema; rights gate -> RS lint -> coverage -> 5 metrics
  (rights-clear >=400, linter 100%, quantity evidence >=95%,
  unchecked claims ==0, band coverage); per-metric evidence JSON;
  planted-failure self-test (5 scenarios) printing 'caught k/k'.
- rs.py: RS recipe linter (R1 schema, R2 quantity evidence - weighed /
  source grams / household-with-conversion / honest-unknown, R3 FSIS
  thermometer doneness for animal flesh with colour/time-doneness
  detection, R4 recomputed allergen/diet-claim evidence, R5 bounded
  timers) and the AllergenScanner claim verifier.
- bands.py: declared cuisines, meal slots, time bands; coverage with
  per-band counts.
- rights.py: rights-manifest validation (source id/type, origin,
  license, access date, license evidence, permission booleans;
  fail-closed) and the bundled-catalog audit (read-only).
- evaluation/out/recipes/: generated results and evidence files.

Evidence from this commit (python 3.13.14, Linux):
- suite.py --self-test: caught 5/5 planted failures (exit 0)
- run.py --suite recipes: scorecard 5 pass, 0 fail, 0 not-run
- run.py --self-test: ok (6/5 planted checks, includes suite C's)

Part of the fl-eval-harness-f1 scorecard, suite C.

…ocks

Once the rights gate cleared the authored seed, the linter honestly
surfaced two seed defects that quarantine had been masking:

- corpus/authored.json: unique per-recipe source_refs
  (orig:authored:<id>) so each seed recipe carries its own manifest
  record; rights gate now clears all 530 corpus recipes (33 authored +
  497 composed) against per-recipe evidence.
- am-pancakes-005: FSIS thermometer block (egg, 160 F) on the cook
  step; am-beef-chili-030: thermometer block (ground beef, 160 F) on
  the simmer step - colour/time doneness alone is forbidden by R3.

Evidence from this commit (python 3.13.14, Linux):
- suite.py --self-test: caught 5/5 planted failures (exit 0)
- run.py --suite recipes: scorecard 5 pass, 0 fail, 0 not-run
- run.py --self-test: ok
- corpus_build.py rerun is byte-identical (sha256 verified)

Suite A delivery from the suite-A sub-thread: grounded manifest builder
(apps/ios/Resources/data.json, substitution documented), SPEC 3.2 fit
oracle with corpus tripwire, production fit probe (SwiftPM staging of
13 byte-verbatim production files against vendored GRDB), honest
baseline: all three bars fail (37/62 double-counted scenarios, 209
unsupported sufficiency line-instances, 55/200 fit-line texts correct).
Boundary clean: only evaluation/suites/pantry-truth/ and
evaluation/out/pantry-truth/ added; no CI/workflow files.

Suite C delivery from the suite-C sub-thread: 530-recipe deterministic
corpus (33 authored + 497 grammar-composed) with fail-closed rights
manifest, read-only bundled-catalog audit (166/166 quarantined for
missing license evidence), RS linter (schema, quantity evidence, FSIS
thermometer doneness, recomputed allergen/diet claims, bounded timers),
band coverage. All five bars pass; suite self-test 5/5. Boundary
clean: only evaluation/suites/recipes/ and evaluation/out/recipes/
added; no CI/workflow files.

…sh integrated evidence

Contract change needed by suite A: the Wilson 95% interval on the
200-pair fit-line metric was rejected by validation on equality bars
and could only be carried in evidence.md. Intervals are now accepted
on every bar; equality derivation still applies to the measured value
exactly. Regression plant interval-equality: value 55 with interval
[0.2226, 0.3501] against bar == 200 derives fail, never pass.
SCORECARD.md documents the rule and the tracked-evidence workflow:
running the runner rewrites evaluation/out/scorecard.* — commit the
refresh with the change that produced it.

Integrated state after suites A (PR #91) and C (PR #92):
scorecard 5 pass, 7 fail, 8 not-run; self-test 10/10.

Verdict: BLOCK

Reviewed head 26c7004e6068f70115dba27bc5b3fc94ce90f4d6 against fl-eval-harness-f1 and PR #86's SPEC/PLAN.

  • evaluation/suites/recipes/rs.py:148-164: a chicken recipe can carry a fish-class 145°F check and pass R3. The validator checks each declared class, but never requires coverage of the ingredient's actual class or the reheat flag. Leftovers can likewise pass with a lower unrelated threshold. Require ingredient-derived checks and required rest times. FoodSafety.gov's chart requires 165°F for poultry and leftovers.
  • evaluation/suites/recipes/rs.py:259-285: unknown ingredient names disappear from the allergen scan. A cream-cheese recipe with a dairy-free claim and empty recorded conflicts passes because that alias is absent. Unknown compound composition must make claims unchecked and safety classification incomplete, not clear.
  • evaluation/suites/recipes/rights.py:50-68: every permission can be false and the record still becomes clear. Checking that permission fields are booleans does not grant text, modification, caching or offline rights. Gate the intended use on affirmative permission and quarantine denied rights.
  • evaluation/suites/recipes/suite.py:77-93 grades its own generated corpus rather than data/recipes/ and the supplied food-safety rules. The reported 530 passing recipes therefore do not establish release-catalog compliance. corpus_build.py:369-372 labels constants weighed without weighing evidence. The bundled-catalog quarantine audit is useful, but its failures do not affect those release metrics.
  • evaluation/run.py:211-238 retains old results before executing a suite. An exit-zero suite that emits nothing can reuse a previous pass. Imported native results at :175-195 are also accepted without matching head or CI-run provenance. Use fresh output and require evidence identity before reporting a current-head pass. suite_contract.py:108-130 additionally accepts any nonempty metric set and emitter-supplied bars, so dropping a failing metric or weakening its bar defeats the promised liar protection.

Lesser findings: recipes/suite.py:404-420 tests rights and coverage failures against a one-recipe corpus that already fails those bars. Those checks need passing controls. The native audit at ui-polish/xcuitest/FLUiPolishAuditUITests.swift catches every audit error and can emit zero issues after an infrastructure failure; that needs an explicit failed-run result.

Criteria: runner partly met; independently labelled A partly met; release-corpus C missing; native F/G missing; required CONTRACTS.md missing; B/D/E wiring met; BASELINE.md missing; workflow installation boundary met. Fully met 2/8. Missing native evidence is acknowledged accurately in the PR.

CI at this exact head passed build-and-test and advisory checks in run 38141151336. These do not run the staged evaluation workflows. This is a blocking source review of the runner, safety/rights gate and adapters; generated corpus records and remaining static-analysis paths have not received exhaustive review. No local tests, Xcode or simulator were run.

validate_corpus.py gains the read contract the eval harness adopts via
fl-eval-harness-f1 (PR #88):

- data/recipes/conversions.json (when present) is integrity-checked per
  row: id, ingredient, unit, grams > 0, source {name, url, quote,
  retrieved as YYYY-MM-DD}.
- unresolved_pair_stats reports corpus-side evidence coverage: annotated
  unresolved lines, and which distinct (ingredient, unit) pairs have a
  citable row — reproducible from the table alone.
- pass A lints under the suite's CURRENT semantics (fixture table only);
  pass B lints under the corpus read path (corpus table joined over the
  fixture table). Both numbers print, separately and labeled.
- A corpus-annotated line that cannot resolve under pass A is the
  anticipated R2 hard-error class (operator ruling 2026-10-11): reported
  with its exact message, not gated; every other violation still fails
  the run. The suite itself is never modified.

Self-tested on a scratch copy (clearly-marked fixture row + one annotated
line): pass B resolves the line (2772/2988, 92.77%), pass A reports the
exact R2 message as anticipated, malformed rows fail field-by-field.
Default run unchanged and green: 428/428 rights-clear, 0 claims, 14/14
bands, 2771/2988 (92.74%) under both passes, 0/217 annotated.

…sed on missing battery rows

Defects 5 and 7 of the PR #88 review BLOCK, suite-side:

- results.json now carries the PLAN.md identity (letter "A", title
  "Pantry truth") on every path, sourced from suite.json. The runner
  renders the scorecard heading from the run payload, so a payload
  without them rendered "## ?. pantry-truth"; it now renders
  "## A. Pantry truth".

- The battery emission is gated by enforce_battery_completeness:
  every metric row PLAN.md line 49 requires of suite A ("0 stock
  counted twice; 0 'sufficient' without evidence; fit-line text
  correct on 200 of 200") must be emitted. A row the battery does
  not produce is emitted as not-run with a reason naming it, and a
  plan_battery_rows_present row derives fail - a battery with missing
  rows can never pass silently or render blank.

- self-test grows plant 7 (missing battery row); plants 5/6 now also
  assert identity and the completeness row. test_battery_completeness.py
  drives the real suite CLI through the same three behaviours:
  caught 0/3 on the unfixed tree (26c7004), caught 3/3 after.

- Full Linux run at this tree (Swift 6.4, warm probe cache): letter A,
  all four rows present, honest product signals unchanged - stock
  counted twice 37, sufficient-without-evidence 209, fit-line text
  correct 55 of 200 (all fail, as measured).

…urces

Binds each suite to the canonical sources it must consume, with the
revision verified on 2026-10-11:

- food-safety rulebook + linter: packages/FLFoodSafety + data/food-safety/
  on overhaul/food-safety-canon (PR #126, head a23439c) - consumed by
  suites C, D and E;
- allergen/diet facts: FLIngredientFacts on overhaul/ingredient-facts -
  branch pushed at head 5597db7 as a seeded skeleton (package README
  only); dataset and audit not delivered yet, recorded exactly so, with
  dependent checks failing closed until it lands;
- recipe corpus: data/recipes/REPORT.md on fleet/fl-recipe-corpus-v2
  (PR #113, head 4b6e163), which cites data/recipes/SCHEMA.md;
- accessibility identifiers: docs/screens/a11y-identifiers.md on
  overhaul/design-system (PR #96, head 2289586, fetched read-only today)
  is THE canonical contract for suites F and G; this index references it
  by path and revision and deliberately defines no identifier list of
  its own.

Binding availability rule: when a canonical source is absent from the
scored tree, dependent checks fail closed with a reason naming the
absent source - never pass, never silently skipped.

…leteness row, planted test

Documents the two defect fixes: results.json now carries the manifest's
letter/title (scorecard renders "A. Pantry truth"), the battery emission
is gated by enforce_battery_completeness over the PLAN.md line 49 rows,
the self-test plants a seventh corruption (missing battery row), and
test_battery_completeness.py drives the real suite CLI through both
defect behaviours.

12 plants reintroduce the PR #88 BLOCK defects one at a time against a
passing 400-recipe control corpus (complete rights records, every canon
doneness pattern present): wrong-class doneness coverage (chicken graded
by a fish-class 145F check), reheat steps passing on unrelated checks,
missing 3-minute whole-cut rests, ground poultry checked at meat_ground
160F, unknown-composition claims clearing (cream cheese dairy-free),
all-permissions-denied records counting as rights-clear, builder
constants labeled weighed, and the suite grading its own fixtures.

Pre-fix run (this tree, HEAD 26c7004 content): caught 4/12, controls
1/1 held, exit 1 — the eight defect plants are MISSED, which is the
recorded failing state each fix must turn to caught.

…orts

Scorecard runner defects 3, 4 and 6, planted-failure tested:

- registry.json now owns the expected suite spine AND every metric's
  label and bar (A-G from PLAN.md; suite D's job-success metric renamed
  "Harness conformance" per operator decision, same >=90% bar). A suite
  whose results drop a metric, add one, or declare a different
  label/op/value FAILS with a reason naming the exact mismatch;
  emitter-supplied bars are evidence only and never trusted
  (suite_contract._enforce_registry).
- Every admitted result is bound to THIS run: the runner stamps
  run_id, git_sha, started_at and re-validates the stamp; anything
  lacking or contradicting them fails closed to not-run. A suite's
  out dir is removed before execution, so an exit-zero suite that
  emits nothing can no longer reuse a previous pass.
- Imported native results require matching head plus CI-run provenance
  (git.sha == HEAD, run_url, producing run identity) per the
  SCORECARD.md macos-import rule; unproven imports are not-run.
- Suite identity (letter/title) is schema-required and registry-matched
  on every emission; missing or differing identity is a named contract
  failure instead of a "?. suite" rendering.
- run.py --self-test is data-driven: 20 runner-owned planted cases
  (dropped metric, weakened bar, extra metric, stale-result reuse,
  missing binding, unbound/head-mismatched import, absent suite dir,
  missing/wrong identity, plus honesty cases and B/D/E wiring cases
  against the real registry) plus per-suite selftest/*.json case files
  and every present suite's --self-test. Exit 0 only when every
  planted failure is caught. On base 26c7004 content 12/24 are
  uncaught; with this change 24/24 are caught.
- SCORECARD.md documents the file contract suites B/D/E need (one
  directory, manifest + suite.py, no runner-side changes), the
  results.json schema, the macos-import rule and the planted-case
  convention.

…closed

Defects 1-2 of the PR #88 review BLOCK:

- suite.py now scores the repo being graded: data/recipes/corpus.jsonl
  (+ data/recipes/originals/originals.jsonl) with the tree's own rights
  manifests; the suite's authored/composed/conversions/rights fixtures
  moved to fixtures/selftest/ and can never enter scored output. With
  no product corpus the bundled catalog is the baseline and FAILS
  honestly (166 recipes, 0 rights-clear); a quarantined corpus scores
  nothing (downstream metrics not-run with reason, not vacuous zeros).
- rs.py doneness is canon-driven: required classes derive from each
  ingredient's actual class, reheat-flagged steps need their own
  165F leftovers check, whole cuts need the 3-minute rest, ground
  poultry checks at 165F, colour/time doneness phrases fail without a
  check, safety sources must resolve against the rulebook's citations.
  All tables come from CanonRulebook.load (tree rules.json, else the
  pinned snapshot from overhaul/food-safety-canon @ 2e03467) and
  unavailable canon fails every judgment closed.
- rs.py claim verification fails closed on unknown composition: an
  unresolvable ingredient is classification INCOMPLETE and strips
  every claim (unknown never means allowed); verified claims never
  count as unresolved.
- rights.py: rights-clear requires the record complete AND every
  required permission affirmative (text, modification, caching,
  offline_use; attribution unless an original; images when images
  ship). One denied or absent permission quarantines.
- rs.py quantity evidence: household lines resolve only through the
  conversion carried on the line (ref + grams); builder estimates
  emit source_grams and a 'weighed' label requires recorded scale
  evidence - an unresolvable ref is unresolved, not weighed.
- run payloads stamp letter/title loaded from suite.json at import
  (the ?. <id> render gap suite A fixed at 564482c) and the battery
  plants an identity drift (D6).
- README documents inputs, canon and FLIngredientFacts wiring, rights
  and quantity rules, fixtures, identity and verification.

Battery: 400-recipe control derives all five metrics pass; 13 plants
(P1-P5, D1a-d, D2, D4-D6) each flip a derived status to fail.
Pre-fix record: 4/12 caught on 26c7004 content, exit 1.

git_info() ran after collect() had already rewritten out/<id>/results.json,
so a run started from a clean tree still reported "dirty" in the scorecard
header (the committed baseline's dirty flag is exactly this artifact).
Sample once at run start and use that snapshot for both the run binding
and the header: the tree the run STARTED from is the provenance.

…y classification

The r3 review BLOCK on PR #88 at base 9e04af4.

Blocker 1 (rs.py:436-475): whole-cut rest validation only tested whether
a rest exists (rest_minutes: 1 passed the required three-minute rest),
and the thermometer reading never had to appear in the instruction text.
R3 now requires each check's step text to name a thermometer reading of
the class minimum (sentence-scoped thermometer language plus a deg-F
reading at or above the class minimum) and compares the stated rest with
the class minimum. Suite control texts state the actual temperatures —
the old controls were exactly the metadata-only pattern the review
flagged (suite.py:595-615).

Blocker 2 (rs.py:359-390, 577-590, 228-238): without the canon,
require() built no required classes, so a chicken recipe with no safety
metadata or reheat flag had no safety signal and escaped the fail-closed
check; with the canon, an unclassified ingredient such as venison was
recorded as unknown but did not block. Unresolved safety classification
now fails closed with the reason naming the unresolved ingredients —
with the canon (no canon class and no allergen-table entry) and without
it (every classification is unresolved). A reheat flag pulls the
leftovers class into the required set. CanonRulebook.load no longer
falls back to the pinned snapshot after rejecting an invalid scored-tree
rulebook: an invalid canonical file fails closed naming the source.

Planted self-tests A1-A4 are red at base (0/4 caught, battery exit 1)
and green here (4/4, exit 0); the part-A passing controls hold on both.
The suite C bundled-baseline run is payload-identical to base (0/5
metrics pass; the known rights-clear quarantine). Canon head re-verified
at 0b8ddca on overhaul/food-safety-canon (read-only); class minimums
unchanged from the pinned snapshot — recorded in canon/PROVENANCE.md.

…leteness

Five selftest cases pin the runner-side enforcement of the PLAN.md line 49
battery (plan_battery_rows_present bar == 3) against the real registry: a
dropped battery row, a dropped completeness row, a tampered completeness
count, a suite re-barring the completeness row, and a crashed suite all
fail closed — never pass silently. Verified at base 9e04af4: a planted
missing row renders not-run with a reason naming the row and the
completeness row derives fail (2 vs == 3) through evaluation/run.py; a
tampered battery definition crashes and the runner reports not-run.

…ition

The allergen/diet claim scan cleared claims through the fixture alias
table in allergens.json (rs.py:573-619, allergens.json:172-173 at base
9e04af4): a tamari-only recipe with a gluten-free claim and empty
conflicts cleared with no product composition evidence, and an unknown
name (cream cheese under a dairy-free claim) disappeared from the scan
surface entirely. Both violated evaluation/CONTRACTS.md:15-18 and :62 —
verdicts come only from FLIngredientFacts data, and missing canonical
facts must hold dependent claims.

rs.py now sources claim verdicts ONLY from FLIngredientFacts
(data/ingredient-facts, branch overhaul/ingredient-facts — PR #127):

- FLIngredientFacts: thin read-only dataset consumer (identity and
  product-form resolution, fact lookup by axis), with load-time
  validation mirroring the dataset's own conformance runner; loads
  scored-tree-first, else the suite-pinned verbatim snapshot
  canon/ingredient-facts/ (PROVENANCE.md records the pin at
  overhaul/ingredient-facts b0deecc).
- Per-ingredient, per-claim-axis verdicts (CLAIM_AXES): a claim clears
  only when every ingredient resolves to a facts row whose axes are
  free/allowed with valid evidence and the recomputed conflicts match
  the recorded evidence.
- Unknown name, identity without a facts row, unknown or absent axis
  state, or an absent/unloadable facts source all HOLD the claim:
  counted unchecked with a reason naming the absent or incomplete
  source — never cleared, never silently skipped. The gluten property
  is its own axis (never merged with wheat).
- The fixture alias table no longer clears claims; it only feeds R3
  doneness classification (classification_incomplete unchanged).

test_allergen_facts.py (committed red at base 9e04af4, ecb333f) now
passes 7/7: B1 tamari gluten-free held; B2 certified-GF tamari form
clears through facts; B3 cream-cheese dairy-free held with the
ingredient named; B4 absent source holds with the source named; B5
unknown-milk stock cube plus facts-row-less identity held; B6
facts-backed claim clears and disagreeing evidence held; B7 soy-sauce
gluten conflict held. suite.py --self-test: caught 13/13 planted
failures, controls 1/1 held (P2 and D2 now caught through the facts
path).

…lergens

Brings in Part A's merged safety-lint work (origin/eval/scorecard-runner

(allergen/diet claim scan, canon/ingredient-facts snapshot); Part A
semantics are preserved as merged.

Verdict: BLOCK

Reviewed 17953ed1d842af9f5dbeb8989a75ae64119e59c7 against replacement task fl-eval-harness-r3-f1 and plan #86. Invalid present canon files now refuse fallback; absent canon and unclassified ingredients fail closed. Four new plants exercise those cases and metadata-only doneness.

Blockers:

  • evaluation/suites/recipes/rs.py:474-478,524-535 calls the highest number in any sentence containing thermometer language an internal reading. With otherwise valid poultry metadata, "Heat the oven to 350°F and check the chicken at 145°F with a thermometer" supplies 350 as the reading and passes the 165°F floor. Negated instructions such as "A thermometer reading of 165°F is unnecessary" also qualify. Parse an affirmative internal endpoint attached to the food, and reject conflicting lower endpoints.
  • rs.py:488-499,539-546 still lets hidden rest_minutes override visible instructions. Whole-cut metadata with rest_minutes=3 passes text that gives a 145°F thermometer endpoint followed by a one-minute rest, or no rest at all. Require the cook-visible rest and compare it with the class minimum. Whole cuts require a three-minute rest.
  • rs.py:632-690 still uses local allergens.json aliases rather than FLIngredientFacts. Tamari maps only to soy and clears gluten-free with empty conflicts; chicken stock maps only to animal_product and clears dairy-free without product composition evidence. Unknown names are refused, but these known aliases lack reviewed absence evidence. Hold dependent claims until canonical composition establishes them.
  • evaluation/run.py:85-90,365-386 overwrites producer identity with the runner's binding instead of validating the suite's emitted run/SHA/time. Cached passing results copied into the fresh output directory gain a current stamp. Per-suite files are written before that stamp. The unchanged import contract also accepts arbitrary HTTPS provenance. Preserve and validate the producing identity and verify native artifact provenance before admission.
  • rs.py:309-341,603-624 accepts any nonempty conversion_ref with positive grams, and any truthy recipe-level scale_measurements clears every weighed line. Neither the cited conversion nor a measurement linked to the particular line is resolved. Invented references and unrelated measurements can still produce 100% quantity evidence.

Lesser findings:

  • evaluation/suites/recipes/suite.py:183-190 only reads originals inside the corpus.jsonl path. Originals without that file fall back to the bundled baseline.
  • The body's Proof and Handoff still describe 9e04af4 and 13 recipe plants. They provide no execution evidence for the four new safety plants or a regenerated joined-head scorecard.

Task criteria for r3: A cook-visible canonical safety partly met; B canonical allergen composition missing; C product corpus and per-line evidence partly met; D producer-bound results/provenance partly met; E plan-probe completeness and letter A met; required planted failures with passing controls partly met; refreshed clean joined-head scorecard missing; ownership and scope met. Fully met 2/8. B/D/E suite wiring is outside this replacement task.

Exact-head iOS CI was queued when inspected. That workflow does not execute this Python evaluation. All three changed files and the affected unchanged validation paths were inspected; no local tests were run.

…d itself

Review of PR #88 (rs.py:288-321, 532-552; suite.py:158-216):

A household line cleared whenever it carried a nonempty conversion_ref
string plus positive grams — the citation was never resolved, so an
invented reference was its own evidence. Any truthy recipe-level
provenance.scale_measurements cleared every weighed line with no linkage
between a measurement and the line it covers. And a tree carrying only
the originals product source (data/recipes/originals/, PR #107) fell
through to the bundled catalog and was scored as a failing baseline.

Now (rs.py):
- a household citation resolves to a conversion-evidence row the CORPUS
  supplies — the record's own rows (record["conversions"] or
  provenance.conversions) or the scored tree's data/recipes conversion
  file, never a harness-internal table — and that row must exist, carry a
  positive grams_per_unit, and cover this line (ingredient name, declared
  unit); carried grams must agree with the cited conversion;
- a weighed line needs a scale measurement LINKED TO THAT LINE (by
  ingredient name or line index) agreeing with its grams; a recipe-level
  flag, a bare true, or a measurement of another line clears nothing;
- honest unknown stays allowed and counts as unresolved.

(suite.py):
- data/recipes/corpus.jsonl (PR #113) and
  data/recipes/originals/originals.jsonl (PR #107) are each scored
  independently as product data with the rights evidence their own tree
  carries; originals already ingested are skipped by id (counted and
  described), the corpus-of-record manifest governs ingested refs after a
  rights-substance check, and only a tree with NEITHER product source
  falls to the bundled baseline;
- run() loads the scored tree's own conversion-evidence file
  (fail-closed on conflicts or unreadable content) and passes no
  harness-internal table.

(corpus_build.py): the composed fixture records now emit their own
conversion rows (build-time table material written onto the record), so
the fixtures model the contract; the fixture table is never a scoring
input.

Battery: suite.py --self-test catches 16/16 planted failures with the
400-recipe all-pass control and a new linked-scale control held (2/2);
new plants P6 (nonexistent ref + grams present), P7 (unrelated scale
measurement), P8 (originals-only tree scored as product data) close the
review's exact cases. selftest_c.py replays them minimally: red at base
9e04af4, 4/4 green here.

The r3 review of the runner (PR #88 at 9e04af4) found the scorecard
trusting evidence it should verify. Fixes, each with a planted-failure
self-test that is red at base and fail-closed here:

- Run-identity binding: the runner passes this run's identity to every
  suite (FL_RUN_BINDING), the suite stamps it as the producer binding,
  and the runner verifies the emitted binding instead of overwriting
  it. A result bound to another run (a stale copy from an old out/
  directory) or written without a binding is rejected to not-run with
  the mismatch named; runner-authored rows (refusals, mismatch
  reports, import records) are still bound by the runner.
- Import provenance: imported native results must name a real GitHub
  Actions run (numeric run id, this repository's Actions URL, this
  head); the runner re-verifies run id + head SHA against GitHub's
  REST API (token from GITHUB_TOKEN/SECRET_GITHUB_TOKEN) and records
  the verification evidence. Synthetic URLs (ci.example.test), forged
  heads behind real run ids, and unreachable networks all fail closed
  to not-run, with live-reachability labeled UNVERIFIED-NATIVE.
- Registry-owned intervals: interval_required in evaluation/registry.json
  applies suite B's bars to the 95% interval's low end; a point
  estimate without an interval cannot pass a learning bar.
- Positive controls: runner self-test cases assert the ENTIRE expected
  metric row set (an extra identity-contract row can no longer hide
  behind a 'caught' plant), positive-control success, and the
  preserved producing identity of admitted imports.
- Explicit failed-run admission: a result whose run_status declares an
  infrastructure failure is refused even when it reports zero issues.

Branch plants: 8/8 caught (evaluation/tests/evidence-branch-plants.txt).
Runner self-test: 31/31.

…o scorecard D

Keeps the runner branch current with the merged base; conflicts resolved
only within Part D's own files (none expected: the merge touched
evaluation/suites/recipes/ only).

…e contract

After merging origin/eval/scorecard-runner (05dda6a): the part-A a_lint
helper and a2 derived-metrics call passed the fixture conversions table
through lint_recipe/evaluate_corpus under the old parameter name. The
table was inert at part-A's base, but under the fixed contract it would
become a live harness-internal scoring input — the exact path the review
bans. Both call sites now pass {} (records carry their own conversion
rows; the part-A plants use source_grams lines, so their semantics are
unchanged), and the battery's fixture-table binding is build-time only.

Merged battery: 16/16 planted failures caught, 2/2 controls held,
part-A battery 4/4 with controls held.

Runner-owned planted cases assert the exact expected row set (a positive
control must not be caught while an extra identity-contract failure hides
beside it). Per-suite case files under evaluation/suites/<id>/selftest/
belong to their suites: expect_rows there names the rows under test and
honest rows may sit alongside them. The merged pantry-truth cases use
that convention; documenting it in SCORECARD.md.

…intervals

Documents the runner changes: suites stamp FL_RUN_BINDING as their
producer binding and the runner verifies it (never overwrites);
imports need a real GitHub Actions run re-verified over REST;
interval_required in the registry applies bars to the interval's low
end; explicit failed-run admission; exact-row-set runner controls and
the planted_failures.py replay driver with both evidence files.

…idence contract

Merging eval/scorecard-runner (496d2c6, part B) brought in
test_allergen_facts.py, whose _lint helper still passed the retired
conversions= keyword — a TypeError against the merged rs.py at join.
The single call site now passes conversion_rows={} under the renamed
parameter: the same empty conversion-evidence set the tests always
passed, so every assertion (claims held/cleared, verdicts, reasons) is
semantically identical. The record-carried contract stays the API of
record; no signature is renamed back.

Merged tree, all exit 0: allergen-facts verdict self-tests 7 passed /
0 failed / 0 skipped; suite battery 16/16 plants caught, 2/2 controls
held, part-A safety-lint battery 4/4 with controls held; selftest_c 4/4.

…nding

Per SCORECARD.md section 3/4, the runner hands its run identity to every
suite as FL_RUN_BINDING and verifies - rather than overwrites - the
emitted producer binding. The pantry-truth (A) and recipes (C) runners
now stamp that binding onto their results payloads (all four of suite
A's write paths; suite C stamps at its single results init), so a
runner-executed run of either suite is admitted as producer-bound
instead of being refused to not-run with "result carries no run
binding". Standalone suite runs (no runner) still emit no binding, and
nothing else - bars, assertions, interval logic, scoring semantics -
changed.

Regenerated per SCORECARD.md from a clean tree at f5fe7f1, where suites
A and C now stamp the FL_RUN_BINDING producer binding, so their run
results are admitted as producer-bound (runner verifies, never
overwrites). Honest state: the bundled-baseline recipes run stays 0/5
pass with only the known rights-clear quarantine entries; suites B, D
and E report not-run naming their owner tasks; F and G committed
imports are refused (payloads carry no producing-run git.sha).

BASELINE.md still described the r2 run (r-20261011T233416Z-9da0d87e at
80c4f1d) while scorecard.json/md record the r3 joined head. Refreshed
per the 9e04af4 format against the current run (r-20261012T030131Z-83c68ad8,
1 pass / 4 fail / 9 not-run): suite A re-measured identically (37/209/55)
and is now producer-bound, suite C stays at the honest bundled-baseline
fail (0 of 166 rights-clear, 166 quarantined), B/D/E still not-run
naming their owner tasks, F/G still refused for missing import
provenance. Records the current contract facts: producer binding for
suite runs, and the provenance a real macOS CI run must carry to import.
No other file changed.

Reviewer-reproduced at 393b5de by calling rs.py directly:
rs._text_internal_reading_f('Heat the oven to 350°F and check the chicken
with a thermometer.') returns 350.0 — the oven setting — so a poultry
check with a 165°F floor clears against a sentence that never states an
internal reading of the chicken.

The reviewer's exact sentence becomes plant D1e in the suite C
planted-failure battery: a chicken recipe whose only thermometer mention
is that oven sentence, carrying a fully valid meat_poultry 165°F check.
Before the fix the linter accepts 350.0 as the cook-visible reading and
the plant is MISSED — the battery runs red by design:

    reading = 350.0
    plant D1e poultry check clears on an oven setting in the same
    sentence: MISSED (food_safety_linter_pass=pass)
    caught 16/17 planted failures (exit 1)
    run.py --self-test: SELF-TEST FAILED 35/36  (exit 2)

Evidence: evaluation/tests/evidence-red-oven-reading.txt. The fix lands
in the next commit; rs.py is untouched here.

Verdict: BLOCK

Reviewed 393b5de0b9b38ec5e9ad30bdee74e7e9586f42b3 against replacement task fl-eval-harness-r3-f1 and plan #86. Producer stamps, registry-required intervals, originals-only scoring and linked quantity evidence improved. Both ingredient-facts files match the declared b0deecce snapshot byte for byte.

Blockers:

  • evaluation/suites/recipes/rs.py:647-652,697-708 still takes the highest temperature in a sentence containing thermometer language. "Heat the oven to 350°F and check the chicken at 145°F with a thermometer" supplies 350 and passes the poultry floor. "A thermometer reading of 165°F is unnecessary" also qualifies. The body's claim that affirmative food endpoints and conflicting lower endpoints are checked is false at this head. Require an affirmative internal endpoint attached to the food. Poultry requires 165°F internally.
  • rs.py:661-672,712-719 still lets hidden rest_minutes=3 override visible one-minute rest instructions or missing rest text. Whole-cut metadata passes without telling the cook to rest for the required three minutes. Require the visible rest and reject contradictions. The body's claim that this override was removed is false. Whole cuts require three minutes of rest.
  • evaluation/suites/recipes/suite.py:352,614-615 constructs AllergenScanner without the scored repository's facts; rs.py:1128-1131 therefore always loads the pinned snapshot. A scored tree that changes a known ingredient's milk state to unknown or contains still clears dairy-free using the old free state. The unused scored-tree loader also falls through invalid present files to the snapshot at rs.py:1024-1032. Thread the scored facts into the scanner and hold claims when those facts are missing or invalid.
  • evaluation/suite_contract.py:452-475,523-530 verifies only an Actions run's head_sha. It does not verify completion, conclusion, the evaluation workflow or that the imported payload was an artifact of that run. A fabricated zero-issues import can cite the current iOS build run, or a failed run at the same head, and pass. Bind the admitted payload to the actual completed producer's evaluation artifact; a matching unrelated run is insufficient provenance.
  • evaluation/suites/recipes/suite.py:183-200 weakened rights-manifest conflict checking to license/source_type/access_date. Originals and main manifests with identical fields but conflicting text/offline permissions are accepted, and the later row overwrites the denial. Recipes then count as rights-clear. Reject conflicting permissions and license evidence rather than choosing the later assertion.

Lesser findings:

  • rs.py:335-349 allows conversion rows without a unit. A single rice row with grams_per_unit=185 clears both a cup and a tablespoon carrying 185 grams. Require a concrete matching unit. selftest_c.py:64-67 currently treats unitless rows as its passing control.
  • evaluation/out/BASELINE.md still says there is no pinned ingredient-facts snapshot, despite the two files added here. The Handoff repeats the old README-only source claim. The committed baseline is explicitly bound to clean source head f5fe7f1, not this final record commit; preserve that distinction.

Task criteria for r3: A cook-visible canonical safety partly met; B canonical composition partly met, but scored-tree availability fails; C product corpus and per-line evidence partly met; D producer binding and provenance partly met; E letter A and plan-probe completeness met; required plants and controls partly met because the two safety bypasses remain; refreshed clean joined-source scorecard met; ownership and scope met. Fully met 3/8. B/D/E suite wiring remains outside this replacement task.

Exact-head iOS CI passed. It does not execute the Python evaluation. Inspected all 32 changed files, the affected validation paths, fixture changes and pinned-data hashes. No local tests were run. The stated 36/36 runner cases do not exercise the oven/negation or hidden-rest bypasses above.

_text_internal_reading_f took the highest temperature in any sentence
mentioning thermometer language, so the oven setting in 'Heat the oven to
350°F and check the chicken with a thermometer.' was returned as the
chicken's internal reading and a poultry check with a 165°F floor cleared
against an appliance setting (reviewer-reproduced at 393b5de by calling
rs.py directly).

The reading is now bound to the food: a number counts only when a reading
clause states what a probe registers or reads on the food — "registers
165°F", "reads 165°F in the thickest part", "an internal temperature of
165°F" (_READING_BOUND_F) — and never when it is dialled on equipment or a
heating medium ("preheat the oven to 425°F", "heat the oil until it
reaches 350°F", "the oven reads 350°F": _APPLIANCE_SETTING_F). The
appliance filter applies inside the sentence, so a thermometer mention no
longer promotes a stray appliance number.

The reviewer's exact sentence is planted as battery case D1e (previous
commit). Before the fix it read 350.0 and the plant was MISSED; now the
same plant is caught and the full battery is green at this head:

    reading = None
    caught 17/17 planted failures; controls 2/2 held;
    part-A safety-lint battery: 4/4 plants, controls held   (suite C, exit 0)
    self-test ok: 36/36 runner cases + suites behaved as required (exit 0)
    all 8 plants caught: the runner refused every forgery (exit 0)
    allergen-facts verdict self-tests: 7 passed, 0 failed   (exit 0)
    selftest_c: 4/4 match the fixed contract (exit 0)

Valid food thermometer clauses still yield their readings (165.0/145.0
controls unchanged; reviewer's example clauses verified) — see
evaluation/tests/evidence-green-oven-reading.txt.

SamGu-NRX and others added 2 commits October 12, 2026 04:03
Reviewer-reproduced at 393b5de by calling rs.py directly:
rs._stated_rest(step, chk) returns the check metadata's rest_minutes
before ever reading the step text — metadata rest_minutes: 3 with text
'Rest 1 minute' returns 3.0, and metadata rest_minutes: 3 with no rest
stated in the text also returns 3.0. The cook reads the text, not the
metadata, so a whole-cut check cleared on a 1-minute stated rest (or on
no stated rest at all) whenever the metadata claimed 3.

The reviewer's two cases become plants D1f and D1g in the suite C
planted-failure battery. Before the fix the linter accepts the
metadata's 3.0 as the stated rest and both plants are MISSED — the
battery runs red by design:

    stated = 3.0
    stated = 3.0
    plant D1f whole-cut rest clears on rest_minutes metadata over the
    text's 1-minute rest: MISSED (food_safety_linter_pass=pass)
    plant D1g whole-cut rest clears on rest_minutes metadata with no
    rest in the text: MISSED (food_safety_linter_pass=pass)
    caught 17/19 planted failures; controls 2/2 held (suite C, exit 1)
    run.py --self-test: SELF-TEST FAILED 35/36  (exit 2)

Evidence: evaluation/tests/evidence-red-rest-metadata.txt. The fix lands
in the next commit; rs.py is untouched here.

Co-authored-by: obvious-autobuild[bot] <262744130+obvious-autobuild[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>
_stated_rest returned the check metadata's rest_minutes before ever
reading the step text, so metadata rest_minutes: 3 cleared a whole-cut
check when the instruction text stated 'Rest 1 minute' (the cook reads
1, the check credited 3) and when the text stated no rest at all
(reviewer-reproduced at 393b5de by calling rs.py directly).

The stated rest is now what the instruction text says (_REST_TEXT on
the step text only — the same cook-visibility principle as the internal
reading): 'Rest 1 minute' yields 1.0, no stated rest yields None and
fails the required-rest check. When the check metadata ALSO names a
rest that disagrees with the text, the linter flags the disagreement
naming both values — neither is silently preferred; when they agree
the recipe passes unchanged.

The reviewer's two cases are planted as battery cases D1f/D1g
(previous commit). Before the fix the metadata's 3.0 was returned and
both plants were MISSED; now the same plants are caught and the full
battery is green at this head:

    stated = 1.0
    stated = None
    caught 19/19 planted failures; controls 2/2 held;
    part-A safety-lint battery: 4/4 plants, controls held   (suite C, exit 0)
    self-test ok: 36/36 runner cases + suites behaved as required (exit 0)
    all 8 plants caught: the runner refused every forgery (exit 0)
    allergen-facts verdict self-tests: 7 passed, 0 failed   (exit 0)
    selftest_c: 4/4 match the fixed contract (exit 0)

Valid patterns still yield their own values (text 'rest ... 3 minutes'
-> 3.0, 'rest the meat 5 minutes' -> 5.0), and metadata agreeing with
the text passes with no flag. No passing control regressed: D1c stays
caught, the part-A controls (whole-cut text 145F + 3-min rest; poultry
text 165F) and the 400-recipe clean corpus stay clean.

Evidence: evaluation/tests/evidence-green-rest-metadata.txt (red:
evaluation/tests/evidence-red-rest-metadata.txt).

The committed evidence at 393b5de was produced by the pre-fix rs.py;
regenerated per SCORECARD.md from a completely clean tree at 2eedb0a
(the r3 join plus the two reviewer-finding fixes: oven-reading #137
and rest-metadata #138, landed red-first as plants D1e/D1f/D1g,
each reviewer-reproduced at 393b5de by calling rs.py directly).

Rendered state unchanged: totals 1 pass / 4 fail / 9 not-run; suite A
re-measured identically (37 stock double-counts, 209 unevidenced
sufficiency claims, 55/200 fit-line, 3/3 battery rows) producer-bound;
suite C still quarantined 0/166 with downstream metrics not-run
fail-closed; B/D/E not-run naming owners #115/#101/#104; F/G not-run
on the macos-import rule. BASELINE.md records the new run
(r-20261012T041423Z-716a5d80) with the new battery counts (recipes
19/19 plants + 2/2 controls + part-A 4/4).

Both findings from your direct rs.py repros at 393b5de are fixed red-first, verified on clean clones, and joined into eval/scorecard-runner (linear: 393b5de → 71b5518 → 2eedb0a → 9d3a704, the last being the regenerated evidence record). The description's Proof and Handoff are updated; per finding:

Finding 1 — oven reading misbind (_text_internal_reading_f) → draft PR #137 (branch eval/scorecard-fix-oven-reading, plant 9b7ef36 → fix 71b5518).

  • Red: evaluation/tests/evidence-red-oven-reading.txt — your exact sentence, called directly, returned 350.0; suite battery red (17/19 caught).
  • Fix: the internal reading must belong to a thermometer clause about the food itself; appliance settings (oven/pan/grill) never count, even in a sentence that also mentions a thermometer. Your sentence now returns None; "…check the chicken with a thermometer inserted in the thickest part; it reads 165°F." returns 165.0; the whole-cut and poultry text controls held.
  • Planted as D1e in the suite battery.

Finding 2 — rest metadata override (_stated_rest) → draft PR #138 (branch eval/scorecard-fix-rest-metadata, plants 844bf1c → fix 2eedb0a).

  • Red: evaluation/tests/evidence-red-rest-metadata.txt — both repros returned 3.0 (metadata rest_minutes=3 with text "Rest 1 minute"; and with no rest in the text); battery red (17/19 caught, D1f/D1g MISSED).
  • Fix semantics as requested: the stated rest comes only from the instruction text the cook reads — _stated_rest(step) now takes only the step dict (the metadata parameter is removed from the signature, so metadata cannot substitute by construction). Metadata 3 with text "Rest 1 minute" returns 1.0 and the linter flags the disagreement naming both values; metadata 3 with no rest in the text returns none and the check fails where a rest is required; metadata agreeing with the text passes with no flag.
  • Planted as D1f (disagreement) and D1g (no text rest) in the suite battery.

Controls held everywhere: D1c (whole-cut without the required 3-minute rest) stays caught; the passing part-A controls (whole-cut 145°F text + 3-minute rest; poultry 165°F text) stay clean; the clean-corpus control stays clean.

Battery at the joined head 9d3a704, all commands exit 0 on a fresh clone (re-run on the committed tree): runner self-test 36/36; forgery plants 8/8; recipes suite 19/19 plants (+2 controls held, part-A safety battery 4/4); allergen-facts verdict self-tests 7/7; suite-C fixed-contract self-test 4/4.

Scorecard regenerated from a clean tree at 2eedb0a (run r-20261012T041423Z-716a5d80, record commit 9d3a704): the run binding (run id + git SHA, no dirty flag) verified, and every metric value is identical to the 393b5de record — 1 pass · 4 fail · 9 not-run — the fixes harden the linter, whose metrics are not-run fail-closed on this tree, so no measured product value moved. BASELINE.md is rewritten for the new run with the new battery counts and the fixes line. Self-test is green at the joined head, both findings are planted red-first, and the CI proposals remain untouched. Ready for re-review at 9d3a704.

Verdict: BLOCK

Reviewed 9d3a7048fa37e67daf5d8b32dc2c20d373560bd6 against fl-eval-harness-r3-f1 and plan #86. The oven-only reading and hidden-rest overrides are repaired, with three new failure cases and recorded red/green evidence.

Blockers:

  • evaluation/suites/recipes/rs.py:121-129,678-683,743-768 still accepts negated instructions. "Do not wait for an internal temperature of 165°F; serve the chicken at 145°F" supplies 165 to the poultry gate. "Do not rest 3 minutes; carve immediately" supplies the required whole-cut rest. Neither parser checks affirmation; the reading parser also takes the highest matched endpoint rather than rejecting conflicting lower endpoints. These are static input-to-branch deductions, not locally executed reproductions. Require affirmative food endpoints and rest instructions, and reject contradictions. The PR's claim that negated instructions and conflicting endpoints fail closed is unsupported by this source.
  • evaluation/suites/recipes/suite.py:354,616-617 still constructs AllergenScanner without scored-tree facts. Its default at rs.py:1177-1180 loads the pinned snapshot, so a scored tree changing a known ingredient's milk state to unknown or contains can still clear dairy-free using older free evidence. The loader at rs.py:1070-1081 also continues from invalid present facts to that snapshot. Consume the scored facts and hold claims on missing or invalid authoritative composition.
  • evaluation/suite_contract.py:452-475,523-530 still verifies only the referenced Actions run's head_sha. A fabricated passing payload can cite an unrelated iOS run or a failed run at this head; completion, conclusion, producer workflow and artifact membership are unchecked. Bind imports to the actual completed evaluation producer and its payload.
  • evaluation/suites/recipes/suite.py:183-202 still ignores conflicting text/offline permissions when merging rights manifests. Matching license/source_type/access_date permits a later affirmative row to overwrite an earlier denial and count recipe text as rights-clear. Reject substantive permission and license-evidence conflicts.

Lesser findings:

  • rs.py:366-380 still accepts conversion rows without a unit. One rice row with grams_per_unit=185 can clear both a cup and a tablespoon carrying 185 grams. Require a concrete matching unit.
  • The Handoff still calls ingredient-facts a README skeleton despite the pinned files. The refreshed baseline identifies clean source 2eedb0a and 1 pass / 4 fail / 9 not-run; that is distinct from this record commit. Its claim that the harness is sound exceeds the checks above.

Task criteria: A canonical cook-visible safety partly met; B canonical composition partly met; C product corpus and per-line evidence partly met; D producer binding/provenance partly met; E suite-A identity and plan-probe completeness met; required failure cases/controls partly met; refreshed joined-source scorecard met; ownership/scope met. Fully met 3/8. B/D/E suite wiring remains outside the replacement task.

Exact-head iOS CI passed; it does not execute this Python evaluation. Inspected all 12 changed files, recorded evidence and affected validation paths. No local tests were run. The reported 19/19 plants do not cover the negated temperature/rest instructions above.
