| Server | A self-hosted service with the web dashboard. It stores devices, policies and metrics, and keeps a live WebSocket connection to every agent. |
| Agent | A small program on each managed device. It reports inventory + metrics on a heartbeat, and carries out actions (scripts, remote control, wake, notify, self-update). Runs as a service/SYSTEM. |
| Tray (Windows) | A per-user companion that shows connection status and displays desktop notifications the agent can't show itself (the agent runs as SYSTEM). |
| Node | Any agent you promote to a node. A node does local network discovery, SNMP polling, and relays Wake-on-LAN magic packets on its LAN. |
- You install the agent on a device (see Installing the Agent).
- The agent connects outbound to the server over a secure WebSocket and enrolls.
- The new device lands in the approval queue — approve it and it starts reporting.
- From then on it appears on the dashboard with live CPU/memory/disk, inventory, and whatever policies apply.
There are no inbound ports to open on the device: the agent always dials out to the server.
- Organisations separate tenants/customers. Each has its own devices, policies and users.
- Groups (e.g. by OS) let you scope policies to a subset of devices.
- Policies can be global (all organisations), per-organisation, per-group, or per-device.
- Installing the Agent — get devices online
- Policies and Monitors — start alerting on the things you care about
- Remediation — have the RMM fix problems automatically
