refactor(rust): group ciphernode composition and workers - #2397
Flatten the builder's private module wrapper; update workspace, Docker, docs, and blueprint wiring.
CLI/init remain standalone. No protocol, wire, or schema change relative to current main.
Explicitly dropped a5b09c342. repository-checks.yml and the relocated installed MCP test are
byte-identical to main: the dependency-free job keeps its five-minute timeout and original
step; launcher tests run in the separate installed job.
Fresh-checkout CLI build passed. The dependency-free suite passed without installing packages
(21 tests); after pnpm install --frozen-lockfile, the installed launcher suite passed (2 tests).
The complete rebased tip also passed 730 selected Rust test executions, 86 tooling tests, and
28 real before/after CLI comparisons. These are local checks, not a replacement for each PR's CI.
Review references: persistence/replay, upgrades, and repository-testing domain documents.
Startup ordering, durable state, peers, and verifier inputs are unchanged by the relocation.
Compatible rolling replacement remains subject to qualification; no counter change, reset,
release, or rollout is performed. Source rollback restores paths and wiring together.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Chores
Relocated the Ciphernode builder, daemon server, and multithread packages into a shared directory structure. Package names, dependency versions, and behavior remain unchanged.
Updated workspace and container build configuration to use the new package locations.
Documentation
Updated project guides and references to reflect the new locations, and added an overview of the Ciphernode packages and their roles.
No actionable comments were generated in the recent review.
Walkthrough
The builder, daemon-server, and multithread crates move under crates/ciphernode/. Workspace and Docker paths, builder module exports, documentation links, and blueprint references are updated to match the new locations.
Changes: Ciphernode package relocation
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Package paths and builder exports Cargo.toml, crates/Dockerfile, crates/ciphernode/README.md, crates/ciphernode/builder/src/lib.rs, crates/ciphernode-builder/src/lib.rs
Workspace membership, shared dependency paths, and Docker manifest copies use the relocated package paths. The builder library root declares modules and re-exports ciphernode items; the former library root is removed. The new README describes the package family.
Crate and architecture references crates/**/README.md, crates/**/AGENTS.md, docs/architecture/*.md
Documentation links point to the relocated packages and source files. The crates index also updates its compute-dispatcher description.
theinterfold/interfold#2383 — This PR relocates builder, daemon-server, and multithread under crates/ciphernode/, as requested; the related issue notes additional components remain for follow-up.
theinterfold/interfold#2319 — This PR applies the capability-family organization to the Ciphernode packages, but does not complete the broader ownership workstreams.
theinterfold/interfold#2326 — This PR delivers the Ciphernode package relocation described as one group in the issue; other relocation groups are outside this PR.

The MCP launcher regression tests added on main require tsx and the MCP
workspace dependencies. Install the frozen workspace before running the
repository test glob, using the same pinned pnpm setup as formatting.
Retain every existing test and static gate, and allow the same ten-minute
budget as the formatting job now that this job also installs dependencies.
Reproduced both launcher failures in a clean snapshot without node_modules;
the locked install fixes them and all 23 repository/blueprint tests pass.
Shell, link, repository, and committee checks also pass on that snapshot.
Part of #2383; fixes the inherited repository-check failures in #2397 and
#2406 before refreshing the downstream stack. No runtime/protocol changes.
Move prover binary selection to the prover, application loading and program
settings to the CLI, and EVM connection settings to their own capability.
Migrate callers directly, without old-import aliases or a config facade.
Preserve operator configuration, defaults, precedence, durable locations,
runtime policy and protocol behavior. The remaining node configuration
implementation will move and the old package will be removed next.

and e3_evm_config at their owner boundaries. AppConfig::bb_binary returns
PathBuf and AppConfig::program is removed. No operator reset or resync.
