- Signature's width and height are public, 0 for an empty signature, so an app can size its own bitmap without tracking the pad. - The README example exports on Dispatchers.Default, as the text says it can, and skips an empty signature so a new pad doesn't overwrite a saved one. It says that clearing gives an empty signature too. - The default signature on SignaturePadState says watching it never sees a change. - Tests: the signature's size, moves during a stroke not invalidating readers of the signature, and exporting it in ConcurrencyTest. @Bayram-MKININI, thanks for this. #30 just landed and rewrote the state this PR builds on, so I've rebased your branch onto master and force-pushed it. Your two commits are still yours. I resolved the conflicts in the first one and added one commit on top. What changed:
The description is updated to match. If you had local commits on the old branch, reset to the new one before pushing again. |

- Line 270: Update the first-layout path in SignaturePadState.setSize to
republish any finished strokes using the newly established dimensions, rather
than leaving a non-empty signature at 0 × 0. Preserve the existing behavior when
there are no finished strokes.

Why
An app can't tell when the signature changes. To save it as it's drawn, rather than on a submit button, an app has to watch the pad's pointer events itself and guess when the pad has finished a stroke. It also has to track the pad's size to export at that size, and guard against a
clear()that lands while an export is reading the state. What
SignaturePadState.signatureholds the finished strokes as an immutableSignature. It gets a new value each time a stroke ends, and when the signature is cleared, resized or restored. Moves during a stroke, a stroke that draws nothing, and clearing or resizing an empty pad keep the same value. It's snapshot state, so it can be read in composition or watched withsnapshotFlow, likeTextFieldState.text. A composable that reads it isn't recomposed on each move.SignaturehasisEmpty,widthandheight(0 when it's empty),drawOnBitmap(as on the state) andtoImageBitmap, which draws it at the pad's size, or returnsnullwhen it's empty. An empty signature has no size: laying out or resizing an empty pad doesn't publish a new value, so a size kept in it would be stale. ASignaturenever changes, so it can be exported off the main thread.curvesnow holds the finished strokes as theSignatureitself, next to the stroke in progress.setCurves, which runs under the lock, builds a newSignatureonly when the finished strokes change, with the pad's size at that moment.signaturereads it through the derived state the pad's cache of finished strokes already uses.drawOnBitmapgoes throughSignature.drawOnBitmap.drawCurvesandpenPaintmoved toBezier.ktso both can use them.signaturehas a default on the interface, so otherSignaturePadStateimplementations still compile and link. It always returns an empty signature, so watching it never sees a change. That matches how the library already treats other implementations: the saver and the pad's cache only supportSignaturePadStateImpl.Dispatchers.Default, and skips an empty signature so a new pad doesn't overwrite a saved one.Testing
SignatureTest(common) checks when a new value is published, that an old one never changes, the signature's size, and that moves during a stroke don't invalidate a reader ofsignature. That last test fails ifsignaturereads the state without the derived state.SignatureExportTestchecks the size and ink oftoImageBitmap.ConcurrencyTestalso exportssignatureon its own thread while input, resizing and drawing run on others.:signaturepad:allTests(JVM, JS, Wasm),:signaturepad:build,:demo:assembleand:androidDemo:assembleDebugpass on Linux. iOS tests weren't run locally; CI runs them on macOS.:benchmark:benchmark, master → this branch: everything is within error except capturing a 250-curve signature, 5% (0.6µs) slower.Summary by CodeRabbit
