Food Safety Lens packing: farm name+phone+address; human-readable growing/field name (internal id alone insufficient); explicit cooled yes/no — cooling_* only when cooled=yes (do not infer).
Alias Lab legacy input_traceability_lot_codes → input_lot_codes for presence checks.
Pin INFLOW_LAB_REF → Inflow Lab contract-v3 head (22467473744963e75c6e460b2a7b7075aedda125).
High Risk
Breaking ingest contract v3 changes required KDE validation and FTL gating on core webhook/CSV paths; merges depend on Inflow Lab contract v3 being pinned first or CI will skew.
Overview
Bumps Inflow contract v3 (INFLOW_CONTRACT_VERSION = "3") and pins INFLOW_LAB_REF so Contract CI matches the coordinated Lab release. Integrators must supply expanded required KDEs per CTE and may see new validation failures on FTL or unknown-FTL foods.
Harvest / cool / transform: Adds immediate_subsequent_recipient on harvesting and cooling, harvest_location_name on cooling, transformation input_lot_codes plus qty/UOM/descriptions, and treats structured inputs (and legacy input_traceability_lot_codes) as satisfying those checks where applicable.
Initial packing (Food Safety Lens): Requires harvest/received carry-in KDEs plus farm phone/address, a human-readable growing/field name (opaque field_id alone is not enough), and an explicit cooled yes/no — cooling_location_name / cooling_date only when cooled=yes. CSV parsing keeps received_date distinct from receiving receive_date.
FTL gate: Required-KDE enforcement is skipped when the product is explicitly non-FTL; unknown or FTL-covered events still get the full checklist. Templates, workbench demo CSVs, WEBHOOK_REQUIRED_KDES, frontend required-kdes.json, and tests/fixtures are updated to match.

Walkthrough
The inflow contract version changes from 2 to 3. Required KDEs and CSV examples expand for harvesting, cooling, initial packing, and transformation. Event validation adds an FTL-status gate and checks initial-packing farm contact, field identification, and conditional cooling details. Tests update KDE validation cases and harvesting compliance counts. The default Inflow Lab simulator reference and built-in CSV scenarios also change.
The PR still risks rejecting valid uploads, accepting incomplete contract data, losing source-lot traceability, and producing misleading staging validation results. These risks should be resolved before merge.
Security architecture risk: Moderate · up to 8285a
The change expands required traceability data, but sender-provided classification can now disable those checks. Transformation CSV processing also does not preserve two newly required field names. Existing authentication and tenant controls limit exposure, while production compatibility and rollout remain unverified.
Retained concerns
Medium · security · inferred: The new gate makes submitter-controlled FTL classification an exemption from required-KDE enforcement. A sender can assert ftl_covered=false, even alongside a recognized FTL category, or supply an unmatched category and avoid checks that were mandatory at the base. Canonical product inference preserves explicit hints, and ordinary FTL rules do not restore the skipped checks. This creates an inferred tenant-level compliance-integrity risk unless product-classification authority is deliberately delegated to every permitted sender; independent exemption authorization is not established by the inspected path.
Medium · architecture · inferred: Contract v3 requires input_quantities and input_units_of_measure as named KDEs, while the existing CSV adapter removes those keys and retains their values only inside kdes.inputs. The shared validator does not project that structure back into the required names. Consequently, otherwise complete FTL or unclassified transformation CSV rows are rejected before persistence. This is a newly introduced ingestion-contract incompatibility that interrupts durable traceability evidence, rather than an intentional rejection of incomplete source data.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The changed exemption applies across event-specific KDE checks and affects records submitted within an authorized tenant's ingestion scope. An attacker would need to satisfy the endpoint's permission, authentication, signature, and subscription prerequisites. No new cross-tenant authority, secret access, or infrastructure privilege was established.
Security Findings and Attack Paths
inferred — An authorized sender can omit a required shipping destination while asserting kdes.ftl_covered=false, including alongside kdes.ftl_category="Leafy Greens". The explicit boolean wins, the new validator skips the former mandatory rejection, and canonicalization preserves the classification. Default FTL rules then do not apply; incomplete route information produces a warning rather than restoring the KDE rejection. This is a source-supported integrity risk, not a verified unauthenticated exploit or proof of downstream export eligibility.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — Unknown FTL status, explicit true, and recognized categories without an overriding false flag continue through required-KDE enforcement. Typed event requirements remain separate from the exemption. The webhook retains permission, API-key, signature, active-subscription, tenant-resolution, rate-limit, and idempotency dependencies; these authenticate the sender but do not independently establish product classification.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
observed — The unchanged webhook recovery path rolls back failed batch work and resets acceptance accounting before per-event retries. Fallback writes use savepoints, and an outer commit failure rolls back instead of returning a successful ingestion response. These controls contain storage failures but do not repair a classification exemption or incompatible input representation.
Hardening Proposals
proposed — Make FTL exemption authority explicit: distinguish unknown categories from established non-FTL classifications, handle conflicting hints, and either derive classification from trusted tenant product data or authorize and audit sender-declared exemptions.
proposed — Normalize transformation inputs into one canonical representation before validation and persistence, and use the same conditional contract in sandbox evaluation. End-to-end checks should establish both acceptance and durable input-lot associations for CSV, direct v3, and legacy-alias payloads.

Make the transformation requirements compatible with CSV ingest.
A transformation row can supply both columns in the CSV template and still fail this new gate. parse_csv_rows excludes input_quantities and input_units_of_measure from kdes; it stores their parsed values only in kdes["inputs"]. The validator checks for the two excluded keys and rejects the row. Preserve the per-input values under the required keys, or validate the parsed inputs structure instead. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Reject wrong-shaped required KDE values.
_kde_present(False) and _kde_present(0) both return True. Because IngestEvent.kdes accepts arbitrary JSON values, a caller can submit harvest_date: false or received_quantity: false; the new required-KDE checks then report neither field as missing. Validate each required KDE’s type and value before accepting the event. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Declare top-level FTL hints before reading them.
An API caller can send an event with top-level ftl_covered: false, but IngestEvent does not declare that field. Pydantic’s default behavior discards it. This branch therefore cannot see the hint on an ordinary webhook event, and the validator applies required-KDE checks to that non-FTL event. Declare and validate the supported top-level hints, or specify that callers must put them in kdes and remove this ineffective branch. The SimpleNamespace tests do not exercise Pydantic parsing. Check transformation values against every input lot.
A transformation with input_lot_codes=["LOT-A", "LOT-B"] and input_product_descriptions=["Tomatoes"] passes this presence check. The second lot has no description, although the new contract requires a description for each input lot. Check non-empty entries and matching cardinality for the per-input fields, including comma-separated CSV values. The CSV parser already checks quantity and unit alignment, but it does not check description alignment. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

A-2190 fixes 1–3 + 5 (CTE KDEs, packing conditionals, transform inputs, FTL gate, contract v3) match /workspace/top-advisors/kde-cte-coverage-review.md founder decisions and look solid in code + local tests. One hard CI block:
Inflow Lab contract skew (blocking CI).Simulator live ingest contract failed with: Contract version skew: RegEngine v3 vs Inflow Lab v2. Bump both repos together and update INFLOW_LAB_REF. Bumping INFLOW_CONTRACT_VERSION to 3 without a matching Inflow Lab release / INFLOW_LAB_REF update is not mergeable. Land the paired Inflow Lab bump (fixtures for new required KDEs + FTL semantics) and point INFLOW_LAB_REF at it in the same change set, then re-run that gate.

Reject lowercase internal field IDs as stand-alone names.
If field_id is "field-a7" and no readable name is supplied, the uppercase-only pattern does not classify the value as an internal ID. _is_human_readable_name then accepts it, so initial packing passes the field-name requirement without a human-readable name. Make ID detection case-insensitive without changing the stored field value. Alias: kdes input_lot_codes preferred; legacy input_traceability_lot_codes (kdes or top-level) fills in when present.
Fail (blocking):
_authoritative_kdes does bare event.input_traceability_lot_codes (validation.py ~line 65). PR’s own test_a2190_kde_cte_ftl.py builds SimpleNamespacewithout that attr → AttributeError on every _validate_event_kdes path that reaches the alias block. Use getattr(event, \"input_traceability_lot_codes\", None) (and optionally set the attr on _event). Prod IngestEvent has the field, but unit CI will red.
Depends on Inflow Lab #258 being mergeable. #258 head is correct for the pin, but Lab pytest is still red on outdated happy-path fixtures — do not treat Lab as done until that FAIL clears; then keep or retarget INFLOW_LAB_REF to #258 merge commit.
Ordering: Lab #258 green → then this PR (getattr fix + REF). Schema phone (#3771) is complementary, not a hard code dependency for these gates.
Ignored known gate-only reds per brief.

Promote the legacy KDE lot alias before persistence.
normalize_webhook_event promotes only the top-level input_traceability_lot_codes field into kdes.input_lot_codes. When lots arrive only in kdes.input_traceability_lot_codes, _authoritative_kdes accepts them for validation, but the persisted canonical event has no input_lot_codes. _create_transformation_links then returns early and writes no lineage rows for that event. Traceability lot codes must stay linked to their source lots, so this drops required lineage for a transformation or initial-packing event.
Promote the KDE alias in the normalizer too. Keep the top-level value as the first choice, and do not alter the lot code strings.

Adding harvest_date to packing's required list does not make it scoreable. COLUMN_BACKED_KDES still treats that name as the event-date column, so required_record_kdes drops it for initial_packing. Packing records missing the contract v3 harvest carry-in never raise a missing_kde gap.
Delta from f510a92: only services/shared/supplier_data_quality.py (+11) — WEBHOOK_REQUIRED_KDES synced to A-2190 REQUIRED_KDES_BY_CTE with CTE aliases (transformation→transforming, first_land_based_receiving→first_receiver). Exact match verified; local test_required_kdes_match_ingest_webhook_table PASSED.
CI (waited ~20 min America/Los_Angeles):
Test shared: PASS
Ingestion full suite (xdist signal): FAIL — multiple AssertionErrors (csv_templates_1342 / csv_templates KDE completeness; transformation template example missing input_quantities/input_units_of_measure on reject-path validation; pilot_diagnostic input_* set mismatch; inflow_workbench / jev_lab / csv_input_quantities / csv_ingest_response_model_2892). Job: https://github.com/regengine/RegEngine/actions/runs/41272133421/job/124746951635
PR Gate: Backend: still pending at review time (poll deadline)
Ignore gate-only + known main pypdf/pyasn1 Security Audit / Prod Readiness npm reds
Snapshot sync itself looks correct; head still not mergeable while Ingestion full is red on A-2190 KDE/template/fixture coverage.
Merge commit only (no rebase) before fixing Ingestion full KDE/template fixtures.

Treat complete kdes.inputs (qty+UOM per lot) as satisfying contract-v3
input_quantities/input_units_of_measure so reject-path and completeness
do not false-miss after parse folds raw columns. Align harvest fixtures
and harvest_location_name seed with REQUIRED_KDES; keep BROKEN_LINEAGE
non-compliant by clearing filled inputs; rename jev "Received Date" so
it is not auto-mapped as received_date.

Drop Food Safety Lens packing conditionals from the docs table —
harvest_location_phone/address, growing_area_name_or_field_name, cooled,
and cooling_*_when_cooled_yes. Those stay enforced in validation.py and
are intentionally not listed in REQUIRED_KDES_BY_CTE; the docs drift
guard requires an exact match.

Received date alias breaks receiving
High Severity
Remapping received_date to the packing carry-in KDE (and recognizing that name globally) means a receiving file header Received Date no longer satisfies receive_date. When another date column is present, _inject_required_kdes can copy that other date into receive_date instead of rejecting the gap.
git merge-tree --write-tree for d7ed829 equals the merge commit tree (clean).
Not behind origin/main (0 ahead-of-main left / 13 branch commits). Tip delta vs merge is only frontend/src/lib/api-samples/required-kdes.json (dropped packing conditionals that were incorrectly listed as unconditional required KDEs).
Locally re-ran the prior failing suite on this head (csv_templates(_1342) KDE completeness + transformation template example, pilot_diagnostic transformation input warnings, csv_input_quantities, csv_ingest_response_model clean upload, inflow_workbench romaine + negative fixtures, a2190_kde_cte_ftl, docs required-kdes drift, supplier_data_quality): all green.
CI @ 76620fe: Ingestion full suite pass; Test ingestion pass (~12m); PR Gate: Backend pass; CI Status Gate pass. Only remaining red is gate-only Engine Review Pass (expected until this review).
Tip correctly aligns required-kdes.json with REQUIRED_KDES_BY_CTE (drift guard in tests/docs/test_ingest_samples_validate.py requires an exact match). The old packing rows (harvest_location_phone/address, growing_area_name_or_field_name, cooled, cooling_*_when_cooled_yes) were never unconditional table entries.
Consumers of that JSON: API docs table (ApiReferenceClient.tsx), docs-contract test, and the drift guard. No runtime ingest path reads those keys from the JSON. Drill-simulator keeps its own table. Conditionals remain enforced in validation.py (with comments) and pointed at from webhook_models.py INITIAL_PACKING comments.
Judgment: non-blocking. Docs readers lose the packing conditional list from the public table, but no code consumer depends on those JSON fields. Recommend a follow-up (not this PR): short prose under the packing row, a conditional_notes sibling field the table can render, or a sentence on /docs/api / FSMA docs — keep the rules in validation.py either way.
Bring in post-#3773 main (KDE/FTL #3772, evidence policy #3717, frontend audit #3770, prod migration approval #3765) so PR #3793 CI is not stale again.

Overview
Bumps Inflow contract v3 (
INFLOW_CONTRACT_VERSION = "3") and pinsINFLOW_LAB_REFso Contract CI matches the coordinated Lab release. Integrators must supply expanded required KDEs per CTE and may see new validation failures on FTL or unknown-FTL foods.Harvest / cool / transform: Adds
immediate_subsequent_recipienton harvesting and cooling,harvest_location_nameon cooling, transformationinput_lot_codesplus qty/UOM/descriptions, and treats structuredinputs(and legacyinput_traceability_lot_codes) as satisfying those checks where applicable.Initial packing (Food Safety Lens): Requires harvest/received carry-in KDEs plus farm phone/address, a human-readable growing/field name (opaque
field_idalone is not enough), and an explicitcooledyes/no —cooling_location_name/cooling_dateonly whencooled=yes. CSV parsing keepsreceived_datedistinct from receivingreceive_date.FTL gate: Required-KDE enforcement is skipped when the product is explicitly non-FTL; unknown or FTL-covered events still get the full checklist. Templates, workbench demo CSVs,
WEBHOOK_REQUIRED_KDES, frontendrequired-kdes.json, and tests/fixtures are updated to match.Reviewed by Cursor Bugbot for commit 76620fe. Bugbot is set up for automated code reviews on this repo. Configure here.
