Request compat with modded trim materials in this thread.

This thread is not for compat with modded tools. If the modded tool has minor easy-fix issues such as offset, you may open a separate issue for that. If the modded tool has an entirely different shape, it will probably not be addressed unless someone decides to make textures for that since I am not the artist.

How about the materials from Progression Reborn (https://modrinth.com/mod/progression-reborn) and End Reborn (https://modrinth.com/mod/end-reborn)?

Progression Reborn just has the Rose Ingot, and the trim materials from End Reborn are:

• Remnant Ingot
• Featherzeal Ingot
• Crystalline Shard

It would be amazing to see "Create" and "Create: Fly" compatibility for this mod! Bringing tool trims to these mods (especially "Create: Fly") would be a huge game-changer for modded setups.

Create doesn't add trim materials itself, so would it be ok if it was a separate addon mod that used the palettes from https://modrinth.com/mod/create-trimmed?

Well, the mod you mentioned is only available for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. I don't think there's a Create trim materials mod for 26.1.2 yet, but is that even necessary? You could just apply your tool trimming mechanics directly to Create's materials. There's no real need for an "armor trims with Create materials" mod to exist first.

I meant I was thinking of copying that mod's palette for the trims, since create doesn't supply its own. Also because of that, I'll need to add create fly as a dependency to allow its items to provide trim materials, and it would be cleaner if that were a separate mod.

I did some research and found out that creating a mod for existing trim materials and patterns isn't actually that hard. I immediately thought, 'Why not do it myself?' So, I started working on it, even though I have zero prior modding experience. I believe I’ll be able to release it in a few days, maybe a week, depending on how complicated things get...

It's not too hard to make one mod adding trims/patterns but making it compatible with any other mod also adding trims/patterns is nontrivial (on fabric 26.1+ at least, since there are no updated libraries for it afaik). To get around this Tool Trims Mod has its own system for item assets & models, so adding tool trims compat will look different from adding trims for armor. Thanks for the detailed explanation! I just finished putting the mod together and successfully added the compatibility files you mentioned. It honestly took a lot less time than I expected for my first time doing this. I am going to run some final tests in-game now, and then I will be publishing the release. Thanks again for the help and for pointing me in the right direction!
