| For any new players interested in OpenTTD, you will need to purchase the Transport Tycoon Deluxe / OpenTTD bundle, allowing access to both the original Transport Tycoon Deluxe and OpenTTD as separate products. |

I think there should be a reminder that OpenTTD is still available for download (for free) from the website and GitHub. This sentence implies that the only way to get OpenTTD is by purchasing the bundle.
Perhaps the following rephrasing is better:
For any new players interested in OpenTTD, you can purchase the Transport Tycoon Deluxe / OpenTTD bundle, allowing access to both the original Transport Tycoon Deluxe and OpenTTD as separate products, or download OpenTTD here.

Alternate wording suggestion to make it clear we are discussing Steam distribution only.

I am curious Why did this have to happen anyway? I dont like this requirement. It makes me feel like Atari is piggybacking off of OpenTTD for more sales. is it something instituted by the stores, by ttd or by atari? and can if its caused by the stores or atari, can we do something to fight it? |
|
Assume that what can be said in public is what's been said in this post. |
To prevent a worse outcome. You might be willing to fight, but you're not the one that has to show up in a court thousands of kilometres/miles away from home and potentially be found liable for some massive payment, and having to dissolve OpenTTD altogether. So yes, it sucks for new players. But consider dissolution of OpenTTD on Steam/GOG/GitHub/our website would suck even more for everyone. |
|
Is it possible to share in the post how this came about? Was this a request directly from Atari that the OpenTTD team have accepted? Or have the team decided to do this primitively to avoid any issues? |
|
As above, assume that what can be said in public is what's been said in this post. |

| During that time, we've built up an incredible player base, attracting lots of new players to the game. | ||
| Starting today however, OpenTTD will no longer be directly available as a standalone game on Steam. | ||
| It can instead be obtained as part of a bundle alongside the original Transport Tycoon Deluxe, which has been re-released by Atari and is now available to purchase via Steam for Windows, Mac, and Linux. | ||
| You can purchase the bundle [here](https://store.steampowered.com/app/3766810/Transport_Tycoon_Deluxe) for $7.99. |

Seems to be the correct price.

I've added in some of the suggested changes above. I'd like to get this up on the site today, the news is obviously a bit more widespread now so it would be good to help clarify things. There seems to be some kind of issue with the Steam bundling today - Valve it seems has unintentionally taken down our storefront page, but Atari is aware of this and has asked for them to restore it. Hopefully they'll get it sorted soon. |

Atari launched Transport Tycoon Deluxe on Steam and GOG yesterday. This post explains the changes that will be made to OpenTTD's listings on these stores as a result. We are still waiting for the Steam bundle to go live, so I will hold off on pushing this to the site until that's happened (and we can verify the pricing).
