Website only (site/ plus docs). It goes into main directly so the Website workflow can publish it now: no app code changes, no version bump, no release. main and dev are identical, and dev gets fast-forwarded right after the merge.

What and why

A visual-first redesign of the landing page. It shows the real app screens and keeps the text short.

  • Hero: the Windows dashboard with the Android home screen in front of it.
  • Features: a grid of screens (clipboard, files, mirroring, notifications, earbuds, tray, phone shortcuts), each with one line of text. Every screen has a light and a dark render that follows the theme toggle.
  • "Connects over anything": an interactive diagram of how the PC tries every route at once and keeps the first that answers. The 404 page reuses it.
  • Privacy and downloads: a privacy statement with a small diagram, download cards that highlight your platform, and a new share image.
  • Fonts and metadata: fonts are self-hosted, so the page no longer calls Google Fonts. Added a canonical URL, JSON-LD, robots.txt, a sitemap and a designed 404 page.
  • Screens: rendered from the design canvas with sample data only. Personal and real-world details in the samples were replaced before rendering.
  • Docs: docs/SITE_DESIGN.md records the design. The docs map and /create-release now point to it. Added the JetBrains Mono OFL license.

How I tested it

  • Pages: served locally under /orbit/, as GitHub Pages serves it, and checked at 1440 px and 390 px in light, dark and reduced motion.
  • Checks:
    • SEO/meta audit: 0 failures.
    • Accessibility: 0 axe violations, every focus stop visible, skip link first.
    • Layout: no horizontal overflow, no tap targets under 24 px.
    • Speed: throttled mobile LCP about 1.6 s, CLS 0.
    • Interaction: every hover target reacts.
  • Outside review: an independent reviewer scored it 7.0 out of 10, from screenshots only.
  • Privacy scan: the only findings are icon path coordinates that look like IP addresses.

Checklist

  • dotnet test windows/Orbit.Tests and gradlew testDebugUnitTest lintDebug pass (no app code changed)
  • New packets are documented in docs/PROTOCOL.md and unknown packets stay non-fatal (none)
  • No personal data, secrets or binaries added; logs don't contain notification or clipboard content (images are our own renders; fonts are OFL with licenses)
  • UI works in light and dark themes, and icon-only buttons have accessible names
  • CHANGELOG.md updated (Unreleased section) if users will notice the change (website only, not an app change)

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

- Hero with the Windows dashboard and Android home screen; a bento of real
screens (clipboard, files, mirroring, notifications, earbuds, tray, phone
shortcuts), each with one line of text. Every screen has a light and a dark
render and follows the theme toggle.
- "Connects over anything": an interactive diagram of how the PC dials every
route at once and keeps the first that answers; the 404 reuses it.
- Privacy band, download cards with platform detection, new share image.
- Self-hosted Manrope and JetBrains Mono (no Google Fonts request),
  canonical, JSON-LD, robots.txt, sitemap, designed 404.
- Screens are rendered from the design canvas with sample data only.
- docs/SITE_DESIGN.md records the design; docs map and release skill point
to it; JetBrains Mono license added.
