  • 💡 What: Used std::sync::OnceLock to cache compiled Regex objects for SSH and HTTP git URLs.
  • 🎯 Why: Previously, the regexes were recompiled on every function call, causing significant overhead in loops.
  • 📊 Measured Improvement: Benchmarking showed a ~330x speedup (from ~1.2ms to ~3.6µs per iteration of 3 calls). 100,000 iterations took ~120s before and ~0.36s after.

Moved regex compilation to global static OnceLock variables to avoid recompilation on every function call. This resulted in a ~330x performance improvement in benchmarks. Also added unit tests to ensure correctness.
