The Disaster Management WhatsApp Bot is an AI-powered virtual assistant designed to provide critical and real time information and guidance during emergency situations, such as floods, to help people make informed decisions for their safety and survival based on their current location.
During natural disasters, immediate access to information can be a matter of life and death. This bot aims to bridge that gap by offering real-time assistance and guidance.
• Provides real-time information about specific locations of personal significance.
• Allows users to input locations such as their home or their parents’ house, saving them on their profile.
• Continuous monitoring of these locations by scouring the internet every hour for weather forecasts and disaster-related news.
• Built using scheduled scraping python scripts on AWS Glue and WhatsApp webhooks hosted on Glitch
To use the Disaster Management Bot, send a WhatsApp message with 'hi' and your location. The bot will provide you with relevant information and guidance on timely basis.
