Publish on Journal of Open Source Software?

Hi Xavier,

I'm reaching out to see if you've given a thought to publishing this on something like Journal of Open Source Software. I had the thought of raising this issue in the QuickUDS repo, but I think I understand this to be the continuation of that project. I'm thinking ahead to when the time comes to update my democracy data in {peacesciencer}, which right now proudly uses and elevates your quick UDS extensions. I'd love to have something peer-reviewed with a DOI number to cite. I think JOSS would be a great fit and I'd be happy to serve as a reviewer if you submit there (the peer review process there is much more open/transparent).

Thanks Steve - this is a good idea, though I haven't had much time to think about it. I may be able to do this in a few weeks. Thanks for suggesting this!

Hi Xavier,

That's excellent to hear as I'm a big fan of what you do and owe you for getting me started down my own path in software development. I'd be happy to offer some help too about CRAN requirements and the like---which is not necessary for JOSS but would assuredly help, I think. Glad you're thinking about doing this, though.
