'#first' is conditional. if the "#first" is not in the HTML code script is not running.

If any id is not present in HTML it should ignore and run the next line.

Hi @sabinantony , thanks for reporting this and sorry for the long silence.

We released a new version (5.0.0)

• The crash is fixed: a non-empty selector that doesn’t match any element no longer throws. The tour ends via finish() instead.
• We do not auto-skip missing selectors and continue the tour. A missing target still ends the tour. That is intentional so a typo or broken selector fails loudly rather than silently skipping half the tour.

For UI that may or may not be present, use onBeforeStart and return false to skip the step without rendering:
