The padlock illustration for Checks That Pass for the Wrong Reason contradicted the post it illustrates.
The original drew a horizontal pin running from the lock body through the hasp loop — a second fastener. So the lock genuinely was held in place, by something other than its own shackle. The caption reads "hooked through, hanging open", and the picture showed a lock that was, in fact, secured.
That is an unusually annoying thing to get wrong on a post about controls that look enforced and are not. The illustration was itself a control that looked enforced.
Redrawn with the extra fastener explicitly ruled out: two objects only, the hasp plate and the padlock. The shackle passes through the loop, its free end is swung wide with a visible gap where it should seat, and nothing else touches the lock — it could simply be lifted away.
aspect-ratioupdated to 400/446. Build passes.
