chompy is a simple CHM viewer for Nokia S60 3rd Ed. phones. It can read and load CHM files and displays CHM content
using the phone’s native browser. It runs on PyS60.

Currently, it provides two modes for viewing:

  1. *Offline mode.* Pages render much faster than in online mode but images are not shown and hyperlinks do not work.
  2. *Online mode (Experimental).* Images are loaded and hyperlinks link to other pages, but pages render much slower (and,
for large pages, may not load the whole page). Note that online mode does not require the use of an internet connection.

Currently, it is recommended to use offline mode since the pages are guaranteed to load fully. Yeah, not being able to
see images or use hyperlinks suck, but hopefully in the future online mode can be improved.

Installation
-————-
It can be run on a mobile phone in 2 ways: as a Python script runnable from the PyS60 Script Shell, or installed using a
SIS file. A SIS file built from the latest source is provided in http://github.com/weynsee/chompy/downloads. Both
installations require the PyS60 interpreter to already be present in the phone. PyS60 can be downloaded in
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pys60. Download version 1.4.5.
