Controls and flight behavior

The current cockpit and announcements are in French. MANUEL STABILISÉ means stabilized manual flight; AUTO selects the predefined waypoint mission. The normal game starts on the pad with the motors off.

First flight

  1. Press T / Xbox X for assisted takeoff to about 1.5 m above the detected support. The drone then holds that height in stabilized manual mode.
  2. Hold Space / Y to climb or Left Ctrl / A to descend. Releasing the control stores the new altitude target.
  3. Use the movement keys or left stick to select a horizontal direction. Releasing them preserves the velocity target in the world frame.
  4. Press K / left stick click to brake, then hold position and altitude.
  5. Press L / B to descend onto a valid support. The motors stop at actual contact.

The retained velocity is intentional: letting go of a movement key is not a stop command. Turning changes the heading while an existing world-space velocity target remains unchanged.

Bindings are defined in DefaultInput.ini. Stick dead zones are 8%; trigger dead zones are 5%. Physical calibration and behavior across controller models remain to be checked.

Propulsion and stored targets

The PROPULSION setting persists between 0 and 100%. RT/Page Up raises it and LT/Page Down lowers it; releasing the triggers keeps the chosen value. It controls requested cruise speed, not actual rotor RPM, thrust percentage or electrical power. Real rotor speeds respond to stabilization, tilt, drag, wind and available battery energy.

At exactly 0, motor commands and holding assistance stop. A climb command cannot bypass this cutoff. The rotors slow and the drone falls under simulated forces. Raising propulsion may recover control from the current physical state if battery, clearance and damage permit; it does not teleport or reset the drone.

F / Start is a separate motor toggle: it cuts the motors or resumes manual flight at a 50% setting. R / Redémarrer fully resets position, damage, battery and trail, with motors off.

HUD altitude is clearance above the support underneath the drone. Controller altitude targets use world coordinates. Wind, motor response and thrust limits can cause real values to depart temporarily from their targets.

Mode wheel and missions

Hold Tab / LB for 0.45 seconds to open the wheel. Move a stick left for MANUEL, or right for AUTO, then release to confirm. A short press or release without selection leaves the mode unchanged. The on-screen Menu button opens the same wheel and supports mouse selection.

Flight continues while the wheel is open. Sticks choose the mode; other flight inputs are suspended while existing targets, inertia, wind and gravity continue. Return controls to neutral after closing the wheel to resume input without applying the selection gesture as a flight command.

AUTO follows a predefined route through the avenue and toward the clearing, using transit points at 18 m in world coordinates. M starts that mission or returns to manual when already active. A flight input outside the menu can also return control to manual. The mission checks obstacles but does not calculate alternate routes.

Takeoff and landing are separate assists. They use the valid surface detected below the drone, including an elevated support, and refuse the action when no valid support is available. Landing completion requires actual admissible contact.

Cockpit, map and capture

The ••• / settings panel provides clickable flight actions, weather and wind settings, and live input visualization. F1 opens help. Live controls reflect user inputs after their dead zones; the automatic mission does not invent controller gestures.

The circular map is an overhead render with a dashed planned route, solid actual trail, home markers and drone heading. Its initial field spans 160 m; + / − adjust it from 80 to 640 m. The layer button toggles overlays, the reticle toggles drone tracking and town centering, and north remains fixed. Town centering uses a field of at least 400 m. Reset clears the trail.

The red button saves a uniquely named PNG in Saved/Screenshots. The camera icon switches first-person/chase view. Decorative GPS and radio symbols are marked SIM; they are not a connection to hardware. Battery endurance estimates use instantaneous simulated consumption.

For an MP4 with game audio, use the separate gameplay recording workflow. The cockpit does not record 4K video.
