Change and mathematical scope

Scoped audit of one CrocSwap#4100 precision sentence. No new κ. The selected conditional value stays 60403/20000000 = 0.00302015.

vendor/FINE-PRIME.md says that deleting diagonal aliases preserves a polynomial gap, and that exponentially accurate band truncation and rounding preserve half of it. GAUSSIAN.md concludes that the rounded reference has diagonal 1, row gap at least 1/(16p^2) and row norm below 2. This package makes that budget explicit.

Under a ≥ 4 log(16p) and θ ≥ 1/(4p^2), with log the natural logarithm,

S = exp(-2 a θ) + 5 exp(-2 a),    γ = 1 - S ≥ 1/(8p^2).

Alias removal (reset the nonnegative diagonal to 1) and band truncation (zero any off-diagonal entries) spend none of this certificate. A rounding perturbation whose off-diagonal absolute row sum is at most τ ≤ 1/(16p^2) leaves row gap at least 1/(16p^2) and absolute row sum strictly below 2. The factor one half is sharp for that certificate: a row that meets it and a defect of 1/(8p^2) leave gap 0. A sufficient special case is at most 2p off-diagonal entries, each moved by at most 2^{-5p}. The same count at 2^{-4p} fails at p = 1. This does not identify CrocSwap#4100's unnamed precision constant with 5.

This is not a supplier admission, a Gaussian-circuit replay, or a complete multiplication theorem.

Task and overlap

Validation

Python 3.12, standard library only, from the repository root:

python3 -B scripts/research_package.py --package research/narrow-row-half-gap --check-only
python3 -B scripts/research_package.py --package research/narrow-row-half-gap
python3 scripts/check_research_commit.py --package research/narrow-row-half-gap --check-source-history

All three passed. verify.py pins the source sentences and checks the series comparisons, the uniform integer certificate, the three operations for p = 1..200, the C = 5 induction, the polynomial thresholds, and a singular control. It does not build a Gaussian matrix or replay CrocSwap#4100. LOG-A §3's elimination identity is cited, not re-proved.

Credit

The ideal bound is LOG-A §1 from PR1673. PR1786 and CrocSwap#4100's vendor/FINE-PRIME.md state the one-sentence claim. The 1/(8p^2) certificate is the merged pr1786-fine-prime-transfer-audit. CrocSwap#4217 asked the question. CrocSwap#4438 (James Reed) separated the column gauge from the row.

Prepared by unpaidmoon with substantial Cursor Grok assistance. Apache-2.0.

Open next questions

  1. Does the stored band have at most 2p off-diagonal entries per row, and does the note's rounding meet absolute error 2^{-5p}? The total budget is proved either way. Blocked until W and the rounding mode are pinned.
  2. Which chirp origin does the interior caller use? The coverage map lists this beside the half-gap sentence. A centred prime-scale chirp keeps both corners positive, with a row sum above 1 (no new κ) CrocSwap/integer-mult-bounds#4304 shows a centred chirp can push one p = 19 entry above 1. This row budget does not choose the origin.

Workflow feedback (optional)

The coverage map's still-open column is the usable order for the next CrocSwap#4100 audit, but it is already behind merged closures. A one-line "closed by" update when an obligation is merged would keep the ninth remaining item stable.

One hundred twenty-five of the 216 targets meet the representation rank with a coordinate word, and eight of them have sharp floor 6.
On the CrocSwap#3954 scaffold, Pi P_enc Pi matches neither the adjacent data charts nor the identity-to-full-F helper transition, and every nonnegative price of the exchange stays over capacity by at least 44096.

The size section pins log2 T within two bits of p/6. Charging one polynomial number of full-array factors is not a 2^{O(p)} cost, while one factor of T does determine an explicit working-precision coefficient.

Under CrocSwap#4141's digit bound and CrocSwap#3667's S_leaf=1 hypothesis, T(s) is a sufficient coarse-depth coefficient and the published reading-(a) value is exactly 80*T(s). The selected stage coefficient stays null.

Scoped layout lemma for the CrocSwap#4100 Gaussian caller: the exposed field pads by
a factor strictly below two, the short-field transpose uses ceil(log2 a)
stages, and deleting the pad before the next axis keeps the live multiplier
below two. No new kappa.

The CrocSwap#4100 dyadic carve keeps at least W retained coordinates between interiors. In boundary order the Schur complement then has bandwidth at most 2W-1, matching the one-interval cap and the written O(W) claim. A shorter separator lets the bandwidth grow with the number of interiors.

At the pinned CrocSwap#4088 profile, one rank-(r*f) child keeps the scalar moment negative, while f copies of each scalar child make it positive for every integer f>=2. The recipe records stay scalar. No new kappa.

Price CRT reconstruction and four rotation networks by explicit sequential
bit-steps, and show they fit 2^{4 ell}(p+2)^{16} for every p >= 2 and ell >= 1
under the stated width and batch caps. The displayed 2^{-G} comparison follows
with the same constant. No new kappa.

A square i-call block forces at least twice as many j-calls, so the inherited 11t/5 bound is not attained on the rays t_i=4 t_j and t_j=4 t_i, and the (7,1) count witness (7,13) is unrealizable. The other 20-call splits stay open. No new kappa.

The (5,24) census still fires (28 masks; 15 and 23 fall silent again), so
with the flat cap the answer is 26 and the n = 5 firing set is not monotone.

Checks vendor/FINE-PRIME.md section 1 at PROOF.md's epsilon = 1 - 10^-30:
cited Trudgian Theorem 2, exact theta range, dominance and its explicit
threshold, search cost, and small exact prime counts. The step holds as
stated; CrocSwap#4029's d <= ell^334 domain does not cover this caller.

…a uniform supplier

Count the completed transforms that helpers leave on their own arbitrary
inputs as productive jobs of mixed rank, instead of restoring them. The
p3 controller's complex mixed root reaches 0.0023051. A finite integer
compiler built on Theorem 1G (CrocSwap#4268) turns the mixed rule into an
ordinary uniform supplier at an explicit rank. A delayed BIT cover with
one common weight, new precision and storage constants, and a complete
nine-row outer bill then give κ = 0.0023 with exact minimum slack
98849/50000000000. This is +32.87% in exponent saving over CrocSwap#4181.

research/kappa-rebuild holds the frozen research checkpoint, with its
claim bindings, constructions, audits and literature notes.
research/kappa-0023-productive-jobs holds the review package: the PR
description and bibliography, the import manifest, the sequential replay
runner and comparison controls, and fresh evidence. The remaining
research/kappa-* directories carry the exact predecessor dependencies and
their notices. Scoped .gitattributes entries preserve the delivered bytes.

Based on canonical main 12fa8c5 (priority revision 7). A fresh replay
passes 23 scientific stages and 59 artifact comparisons. The claim is
conditional on inherited premises and awaits external mathematical
review. The winning templates are specified but not materialized.

Alias removal and band truncation preserve the ideal certificate 1/(8p^2). A rounding defect of at most 1/(16p^2) leaves row gap 1/(16p^2) and row norm below 2. No new kappa.
