πŸ’‘ What: Optimized calculate_lca helper function.
🎯 Why: The function was identifying as a performance bottleneck due to excessive allocations in hot paths (creating intermediate vectors for every taxon).
πŸ“Š Impact:

  • calculate_lca: ~50% faster (23ms vs 46ms).
  • Reduced heap pressure significantly.
πŸ”¬ Measurement: Run cargo bench in api/ directory.

PR created automatically by Jules for task 2066616024519784513 started by @bmesuere

- Optimized `calculate_lca` to reduce memory allocations by using `Vec<&Lineage>` instead of `Vec<Vec<i32>>` and passing iterators.
- Added `get_rank` method to `Lineage` in `datastore` for efficient indexed access.
- Updated `pept2data`, `pept2lca`, and `peptinfo` to pass iterators instead of cloning vectors.
- Measured ~50% speedup for LCA calculation (23ms vs 46ms).
