Pull Request

Thank you for contributing to Limoxel.

Please complete the sections below to help reviewers understand your contribution and evaluate it efficiently.

Summary

Introduces the Limoxel Plugin Ecosystem and prepares the complete plugin platform for the v1.5.0 release.

The release adds plugin framework capabilities, a public Plugin SDK, plugin security, marketplace capabilities, enterprise plugin management, supporting tooling, documentation, and the associated integration and validation coverage.

Motivation

Limoxel now provides a broader platform for extending repository analysis and engineering intelligence through defined plugin contracts.

This change is necessary to provide developers and organizations with a structured way to:

  • Build Limoxel plugins.
  • Consume Limoxel repository and engineering capabilities through plugin APIs.
  • Discover, validate, install, update, and manage plugins.
  • Verify plugin integrity, signatures, publishers, and permissions.
  • Distribute plugins through marketplace capabilities.
  • Manage private and organization-scoped plugins.
  • Apply organizational plugin policies.
  • Manage plugin deployments centrally.
  • Integrate plugin capabilities with the existing Limoxel platform, CLI, and public SDK.

The change extends Limoxel's existing platform without replacing its repository analysis, engineering intelligence, CLI, or public SDK capabilities.

Engineering Impact

Describe any impact on:

  • Architecture
  • Platform Components
  • Repository Organization
  • Engineering Contracts
  • Public Interfaces
  • Performance
  • Backward Compatibility

Architecture

Adds the Plugin Ecosystem as an extensible platform around existing Limoxel capabilities.

The plugin system is separated into framework, SDK, security, marketplace, and enterprise management responsibilities while reusing existing repository and engineering capabilities rather than duplicating them.

Platform Components

Extends Limoxel with:

  • Plugin lifecycle management
  • Plugin registry and discovery
  • Plugin dependency resolution
  • Plugin security and verification
  • Marketplace services
  • Enterprise plugin management
  • Plugin development tooling

Repository Organization

Adds the plugin implementation, public plugin APIs, supporting tooling, and plugin documentation while maintaining the existing repository organization.

Plugin documentation is located under:

docs/08_plugin/

Engineering Contracts

Adds public plugin contracts and compatibility-aware plugin interfaces.

Existing repository, intelligence, CLI, and SDK contracts remain available.

Public Interfaces

Adds the public Plugin SDK and plugin-facing capability interfaces.

Performance

Adds plugin lifecycle, validation, marketplace, security, and management operations while preserving the existing repository-analysis and intelligence architecture.

Performance validation covers the relevant plugin operations and existing regression paths.

Backward Compatibility

Existing Limoxel repository analysis, engineering intelligence, CLI, and public SDK functionality remains available.

The Plugin Ecosystem is an additive extension to the existing platform.

Documentation

Does this change require documentation updates?

  • Yes
  • No

If yes, describe the documentation that has been updated.

Added and updated documentation covering:

  • Plugin Framework
  • Plugin SDK
  • Plugin Security
  • Plugin Marketplace
  • Enterprise Plugin Support
  • Plugin SDK development
  • Repository structure
  • Public README
  • Release changelog

Plugin documentation is available under:

docs/08_plugin/

The existing CLI and SDK documentation remains available under:

docs/06_cli/ and docs/07_sdk/.

Validation

Describe how this change was validated.

Validation includes:

  • Unit Tests
  • Integration Tests
  • Security Tests
  • Adversarial Tests
  • Regression Tests
  • Concurrency and race validation
  • Build Verification
  • Static Analysis
  • Runtime Validation
  • Plugin lifecycle validation
  • Plugin dependency validation
  • Plugin security validation
  • Marketplace validation
  • Enterprise management validation
  • Repository integration validation
  • Documentation Review
  • Version and release consistency validation

The existing Limoxel functionality was also checked to ensure the plugin capabilities integrate with the repository, intelligence, SDK, and CLI surfaces without introducing unrelated changes.

Breaking Changes

Does this Pull Request introduce breaking changes?

  • Yes
  • No

If yes, describe the impact and migration steps.

The Plugin Ecosystem is additive and does not intentionally remove or replace the existing public repository analysis, engineering intelligence, CLI, or SDK capabilities.
