What
Give the Ladle gallery 12px phone gutters, tighter demo cards, responsive content grids, and larger touch targets. Move the mobile toolbar into the page flow, including inside Ladle's phone-width iframe, so it does not cover titles or charts.
The three Big Tech revenue examples switch from right-side endpoint labels to a wrapped top legend at container widths of 700px or less. Distinct series colors keep all five companies identifiable; wider charts retain the existing endpoint labels. The welcome chart gains 104px of usable width at a 390px viewport (260px to 364px).
Expose the engine's existing axis/scale override support in the public type and generated JSON schemas so the responsive examples remain valid when copied. Restrict these patches to existing supported channels and preserve tooltip arrays when unchecked input tries to patch them.
Why
Ladle, the gallery page, and chart cards each added horizontal padding on phones. Together with the endpoint-label column, this squeezed the plot into a small fraction of the screen.
How to test
Open Welcome, Charts / Line and Area, and Showcase at phone and desktop widths. Check the top legend on narrow charts, right-side labels on wider charts, and toolbar clearance in both light and dark modes. Also select Ladle's phone-width preset.
Validation passes: 8,201 unit tests (plus 3 expected failures), 2 script tests, 30 Chromium/WebKit gallery checks, and all 115 desktop/mobile visual baselines without updates. Editorial tests cover the 700px/701px legend transition. Generated files, package boundaries, and library bundle checks also pass.
