ρBerTO: A solution for the "Save the Earth from another Carrington Event" during the NASA Space Apps Challenge
Carrington-Space-Engine – A pluggable space weather engine calibrated by 768 scans of the 1859 storm. Features Dst v2 with self‑consistent saturation (~1200 nT), α‑classification, and Aug 28 pre‑storm. Revised Carrington Dst ≈ −774 nT (not −1600 nT). Lightweight & open.
The sun goes through many cycles, spewing tons of magnetic particles during its active phase. The Carrington event of 1859 is a daunting example of what these particles are capable of. We must be prepared for another one. The solar translator decodes the signals from the sun and extrapolates them, warning us of such an event in advance.
