Live-play learning: rolling the d4 after seeing the check result — and only spending it when rolled, so it carries within the spell's minute — is what turns Guidance from forgettable into a habit. Add it to the what-new-players-miss library, paired with a concrete casting cue. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
One long ability card in the grid stretched its whole row, leaving columns of dead space in the short cards. Pack with CSS columns (break-inside: avoid) so cards keep natural height and balance. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Column width was px-fixed while the root font scales on large viewports, squeezing lines. 21rem tracks the font steps. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Landing the two skeleton commits on master directly (394eaed, 48130fb — masonry ability cards, rem-based column width) and dropping the primer bullet, which is wrong for 2024. SRD 5.2.1:
So there is no die to "spend" and none to carry: Guidance applies to every check with the chosen skill for the duration. And Resistance is damage reduction in 2024, not a saving-throw bonus, so "the check or save result" is wrong on its face. "Decide-after dice" is 2014-era framing. The bullet also ran against its own list's rule — "Phrase each as a true fact, never as advice" — in its second half. The slot is still worth filling, since these two cantrips changing shape is exactly what catches a player who learned 2014: Guidance went from a single check to a skill-scoped bonus lasting the minute, and Resistance stopped being a save bonus and became once-per-turn damage reduction. Left unwritten here rather than smuggled into a close. |
Follow-up to #23 (merged): one library addition learned in live play tonight.
The 2024 Guidance/Resistance template lets the d4 be rolled after seeing the check or save result, and the die is spent only when rolled — an unspent d4 carries to the next roll within the spell's minute. For characters who have these cantrips, this is the single tip that turns them from forgettable into a habit, so it belongs in the primer's what-new-players-miss library, paired with a concrete casting cue.
