Summary

  • deploy-extension.yml now uploads the built zips to the Chrome Web Store (chrome-webstore-upload-cli) and to Firefox Add-ons (web-ext sign --channel listed) after creating the GitHub release.
  • The two uploads are independent steps; the Firefox one submits a git archive of the ext-v<version> tag as source for AMO review and does not wait for the review (--approval-timeout 0).

Needs before the first run

Repository secrets: CHROME_EXTENSION_ID, CHROME_CLIENT_ID, CHROME_CLIENT_SECRET, CHROME_REFRESH_TOKEN, AMO_JWT_ISSUER, AMO_JWT_SECRET.

Not verified

  • The workflow has not been run; YAML was not parsed by a tool.
  • chrome-webstore-upload-cli@3 and web-ext@9 major pins were not checked against the npm registry.
  • Both stores reject an already-published version, so extension/manifest.json must be bumped before triggering.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

The deploy workflow only built the zips and attached them to a GitHub
release, so every version had to be uploaded to both stores by hand.
The store listings stayed on 1.0.0 while 1.0.1 and 1.1.0 were released.

Both uploads run after the release and independently of each other, so
one store rejecting a version does not block the other. The Firefox
upload carries a git archive of the tag as the source for AMO review.
