Unable to turn off the Blink or Pulse once started

If I use any of the hardware-assisted automated blink, fade, or heartbeat options (I am uncertain if I use the right name, but the function that I refer to is hopefully apparent), it is not possible to later control that pin manually via digitalWrite or analogWrite, as the timer keeps turning on/off the pin regardless of the manual control setting.

I have been unable to figure out the exact details of the control mechanism for this portion of the code, and the variable names differ, so I've had no luck in adding a "manual-mode" function to turn them back off, despite two attempts. I hope that someone is able to help me with this.

Having the same issue. If I use the blink or breathe command on an analog output pin I can't get it to return to a steady ON or OFF state.

After an output is blinking or breathing using analogWrite just changes the brightness on the blink or breathe effect instead of stopping it. Calling analogWrite(pin, 0) will get the blinking LED to turn off but if I then call analogWrite(pin, 255) it resumes the blinking or breathing at the specified brightness.

Checked the documents and examples but they only show how to turn ON the effects. I feel that we need a fix to make analogWrite or digitalWrite stop the effects when called on that pin. Or maybe add a new function for enabling/disabling blink and breathe on the specified pin
