feat(training): import Watch motion and phone snore labels - #11
Import watch-motion-v1 and sleepypod-snore-capture-v1 using the iOS dev contracts pinned at 7a9696b9945945bae24409ff26768b47a0ecc24a (unchanged in current dev). Validate versions, units, provenance, coverage, and clock alignment; keep raw/per-window artifacts under ignored data/.
Watch labels use preregistered coverage/jerk-fraction thresholds, preserve gaps, and feed movement.py train with whole-night holdouts and the pod-score baseline. Each window is grouped by source Watch time and zone after reversing optional alignment; windows straddling local noon are excluded to prevent sample leakage. Watch acceleration is forbidden as a sleep-stage feature.
Snore imports reuse RAW decoding and fetch slack, fit offset/drift from confirmed opening/closing knocks, register snore-labels reports, and overlay phone events and recording coverage in the Snore view. The milestone-2 evaluator uses a preregistered score, guarded negatives/exclusions, bout units, per-night minima, and night-bootstrap pass/fail/inconclusive results.
Current iOS exports contain merged event peaks, not all detector-window confidences. They cannot establish guard-band negatives, so ordinary imports remain inconclusive. Optional versioned calibration-window evidence supports the exit test without inventing negative labels.
Validation:
All 131 Python tests, 19 node dashboard tests, TypeScript, JS syntax, knowledge, and vendor checks pass.
Both fresh local and HTTP synthetic pipelines pass portable parity: 180 predictions, zero mismatches each.
Capture/movement line coverage: 94% combined (capture_common 92%, watch_motion 96%, snore_labels 91%, snore_exit 97%, movement 96%).
Vendored sources match reviewed Core revision 18da4f6313064113fc970a0ccec542ed7fa047a0, including the Watch label-gap fix.
No real health data used. Real overnight captures, calibrated window evidence, and physical clock-alignment/label-quality validation remain necessary.
The change adds Watch movement import and training, iPhone snore capture import and exit-test evaluation, and dashboard and task-history reporting. It also updates vendored sleep-stage segment handling and related source metadata.
Changes: Capture import and evaluation
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Capture validation and clock alignment scripts/capture_common.py, scripts/test_capture_importers.py
Adds shared value, interval, and path validation. Adds clock fitting, timestamp alignment, knock detection, and capture-clock checks. Tests cover clock fitting, alignment, and knock detection.
Watch movement import and training scripts/watch_motion.py, scripts/movement.py, scripts/test_capture_importers.py, scripts/ui/dashboard.js, README.md
Adds Watch capture parsing and movement labels, then uses those labels in training and leave-one-night-out evaluation. Tests cover import and training behavior. The dashboard supports Watch movement classes, and the README documents Watch input and alignment requirements.
Snore capture import and evidence windows scripts/snore_labels.py, scripts/test_capture_importers.py, README.md
Adds iPhone snore capture validation, alignment, report generation, and optional preregistered window evidence. Tests cover parsing, alignment, evidence windows, and CLI output. The README describes import requirements and limitations.
Adds eligibility checks, bout-based AUC evaluation, and exit-test results. Task history and dashboard views display results, phone coverage, and predictions. Tests cover evaluation and rendering. The README documents the protocol and thresholds.
An explicit unlabeled row now prevents a later same-stage row from extending the previous segment. The pinned commit and affected source hashes are updated.

Watch movement reports can double-count overlapping windows or describe a multi-night holdout as leave-one-night-out. The PR is mergeable with owner awareness, though correcting these results before relying on them is advisable.

Validate arguments before creating the output directory.
cmd_train calls pb.prepare_output(args.out) at line 324. That call creates the directory. The argument checks at lines 326-329 and the --side check at lines 343-344 run after it. A usage error therefore leaves an empty output directory behind. Because the directory is empty, a rerun with the same --out still works.
Move the argument checks above prepare_output:

raise SystemExit('--watch-alignment requires exactly one Watch capture')
+ if args.watch_motion and not args.side:+ raise SystemExit('--side is required for Watch labels')+ out = pb.prepare_output(args.out)+ rows, sources, seen = [], [], set()
The cc.data_path checks for Watch session inputs at lines 333-335 also run after prepare_output. Move them into the same block if the output directory should stay untouched on every input error.

The README defines these thresholds and minimums as the preregistered exit-test contract. evaluate() publishes PROTOCOL, but reachable evaluation paths use duplicate literals for verdicts, eligibility, bout gaps, and the negative radius. The current values match, but one-sided edits can make the reported protocol differ from the executed logic.

Update evaluate() to use PROTOCOL for verdict thresholds, eligibility minimums,
bout gaps, and the negative radius instead of duplicate literals, so the
executed evaluation logic matches the published contract.
Add a regression test for explicit unlabeled intervals.
The fixture generates empty watch_stage rows, but no checked-in test asserts that a same-stage row after such a row starts a separate segment. Add a focused case with same-stage, empty, same-stage rows and assert two separate segments or the equivalent label boundary.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Overlap deduplication only matches windows on identical t values.
build_windows starts each session at t = start from that session's own session_span. Two Watch captures from the same night usually have different starts. Their overlapping windows then fall on different grids, so (row['night'], row['t']) never matches.
Consequences:
Overlapping windows are not deduplicated, which contradicts the README ("Overlapping windows are deduplicated and conflicting labels refused"). They are counted twice in the report.
Conflicting labels on overlapping captures are not detected, because the conflict check only runs on key collisions.
Night grouping still keeps all of these windows in one fold, so this inflates counts and hides conflicts but does not leak across folds.
Snap the Watch window grid to absolute multiples of HOP_S in build_windows (line 202, outside the changed range). Keys then collide for the same physical window.
Round t the same way in the key so the float comparison is stable. build_windows already stores round(t, 3).

Use one fold per source night before reporting leave-one-night-out.
When two Watch sessions span three source nights, Line 267 limits evaluation to two folds. At least one fold then holds out multiple nights, but this line reports leave-one-night-out. Set the Watch fold count from the number of distinct night groups, or report the actual grouped validation scheme. Add a three-night case to the evaluation test.
