Enforce the file-size limit before extraction writes the entry.
extractBundle accepts the indexed size and streams the complete RAW entry to disk. verifyBundle checks MAX_RAW_BYTES only after that write. A schema-valid archive with a RAW entry larger than 256 MiB can therefore exhaust local disk before verification rejects it.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Validate --jobs before you pass it to fitCandidates.
Number(flags.jobs) returns NaN for input such as --jobs four or --jobs 4x. In fit.ts Line 138, Math.max(1, Math.min(NaN, n)) then evaluates to NaN. As a result, prepareWorkerSlots creates zero slots, and runPool resolves without any replay. The first report then fails with Missing replay output for <cohort>. That message does not identify the invalid flag. Reject any value that is not a positive integer at the CLI boundary.

Correct the stale holdout error message.
The error text says "holdout is never replayed locally". That is no longer true. With --include-holdout, fitCandidates replays and scores holdout nights (fit.ts Line 119, Line 128). The README (Lines 61-63) documents that behavior. A user who scored holdout locally gets a wrong explanation for the parity refusal. The docstring in fit.ts Lines 111-113 ("Holdout nights are never replayed here") has the same contradiction. Restate the actual rule: parity compares only tuning and validation results.

Move exportDataset out of the serialized read lane.
CoordinatorQueue permits one active task per lane. prepareDatasetExport hashes every referenced RAW archive before it returns, so one export holds the only read slot for the full hash pass. Other read requests can wait during that pass. Repeated MCP calls can occupy the slot back-to-back. A guard alone would not remove this read-lane blockage.

Change the `exportDataset` lane assignment in `CoordinatorQueue` from `read` to

…ad --jobs values before replaying (sleepypod#841) ## Why CodeRabbit reviewed sleepypod#837 directly once its base became `dev`, and the review landed just after sleepypod#837 merged. Three findings are valid; this PR fixes them. ## What - **`extractBundle` checks size limits before writing.** It now applies the per-role size limit (RAW 256 MiB, text 16 MiB) before streaming an entry to disk. Previously a schema-valid tar could fill the disk before `verifyBundle` rejected it (CodeRabbit: Major). - **`--jobs` is validated first.** It must be a positive whole number and is checked before any extraction. Previously `--jobs four` produced zero worker slots and a confusing "Missing replay output" error. - **Stale holdout wording fixed.** Holdout nights can be replayed with `--include-holdout`, but the parity refusal and the `fitCandidates` doc comment still said they never were. **Declined:** moving `exportDataset` to the coordinator's `work` lane. That lane also runs backtest replays, which last up to hours on Pod 5, so an export would wait behind them. The export's hash pass holds the read lane only for seconds (about 430 MB), and the HTTP route already allows one export at a time. ## Test plan - [x] New tests: an oversized listed entry is refused before writing; `--jobs` values `four`, `4x`, `0` and `1.5` are rejected before extraction; parity holdout message - [x] `vitest scripts/biometrics-local-fit` (17), `tsc --noEmit`, eslint 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) <!-- sleepypod:install-start --> <!-- 🛑 AUTO-GENERATED — sleepypod-bot owns this block. …ak-signal guess (sleepypod#840) ## Why The local runner (sleepypod#837) showed that tuning the heart-rate tracker can't bring pod HR in line with the Apple Watch. Across the 8 nights with Watch HR (10-08 to 10-16, 526 paired readings): - **Most readings are close:** the median error is 0.94 bpm. - **A few are far off:** 19% of readings miss by more than 8 bpm and account for 72% of the total error. - **The tracker settings can't fix it.** Every tolerance and history combination moved error by at most 0.006 bpm on the new nights. **Cause.** I logged the subharmonic-summation candidates on night 10-14. In 15 of 18 big misses, the Watch's true rate was not a candidate at all: the autocorrelation had a single peak between 45 and 120 bpm, at the wrong rate (Watch 52, pod 62–65). The tracker passed 95 of 98 misses straight through, because its consistency rule accepts jumps of up to about 1.55× the tolerance. - **What separates the misses is signal strength.** The winning peak score has a median of 0.34 on misses versus 0.60 on good windows, but the estimator accepted anything at or above a hard-coded 0.1. - **Ruled out:** pump or other-side coupling. The other channel matched the wrong value in only 2 of 9 misses. ## What - **New profile parameter** `heart_rate.minimumPeakScore`, range 0.1–0.8, **shipped default 0.4**. It replaces the hard-coded 0.1 floor in `subharmonic_summation_hr`. Windows scoring below it report no heart rate instead of a guess, which changes default output on weak-signal windows for every pod. A profile can set 0.1 to restore the old behaviour. - **Manifest bumped to 1.1.0** with an updated `sourceHashes` entry for `signal.py`. The calibration card gets a slider row for the parameter, and i18n catalogs are re-extracted. - **Local runner:** - Ranks by each candidate's own HR error among candidates keeping at least `--min-coverage` (default 75%) of the defaults' Watch coverage. The old common-support statistic scores any abstaining change as exactly 0.000, so it couldn't see this change. - Adds `--save-readings` for error analysis. ## Evidence (local replay of the real code through the pod's evaluator; equal-night means) | minimumPeakScore | Dev MAE | Dev p95 | Dev coverage | Held-back MAE | Held-back p95 | Held-back coverage | |---|---|---|---|---|---|---| | 0.1 (default) | 5.21 | 16.5 | 100% | 4.34 | 16.6 | 100% | | 0.35 | 2.91 | 10.0 | 83% | 3.47 | 14.7 | 82% | | 0.4 | 1.75 | 6.8 | 77% | 3.10 | 14.1 | 74% | | 0.45 | 1.17 | 4.5 | 70% | 2.80 | 13.8 | 66% | | 0.5 | 1.17 | 4.7 | 64% | 2.02 | 10.4 | 51% | - **Dev nights:** 10-08, 10-10, 10-11, 10-14, 10-15. **Held-back nights:** 10-12, 10-13, 10-16. - **Rejected:** a stricter tracker that drops uncorrectable jumps changed nothing. A 3-window median helped little and lost to the score floor. - **Not fixed:** a +2 to +3 bpm high bias remains on the held-back nights, even with the gate. ## Deploy note The manifest hash changes. Existing profile revisions pin the old manifest, so after deploying, those revisions (including the left side's active one) report `PROFILE_INCOMPATIBLE: pinned engine is not available in this build` and must be re-proposed against the new manifest. This is the existing versioning contract; no migration is added here. ## Test plan - [x] `pytest modules/common` (419) and `modules/piezo-processor` (204), plus new tests: abstention below the threshold, unchanged default, range validation - [x] vitest: runner ranking (abstention credited, coverage floor enforced), calibration UI (231), registry source-hash pin, demo evaluator bundle re-pinned - [x] Full vitest suite: two failures under full load, `updateDeploy` and the waveform publication integration test, both pass alone - [x] `tsc --noEmit`, eslint - [ ] After deploy: re-propose the left profile (it inherits 0.4), apply it, then compare the next nights against Watch HR 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code) <!-- sleepypod:install-start --> <!-- 🛑 AUTO-GENERATED — sleepypod-bot owns this block. …RV and breathing references, and schedule library (#878) Promotes `dev` to `main` with personal sleep-stage models, a heart-rate estimator that stops guessing on weak signal, beat-to-beat heartbeat detection, Watch HRV and breathing references, a schedule library, and the Next.js 16.4.3 security upgrade. ## Changes - Personal sleep-stage models: train off the pod from the phone's feature contracts, run them on the pod, keep several per side, upload a `candidate.json` from Settings, and stage a side's nights with its model when switched on. Includes MCP tools (#855, #857–#860, #864, #866). - Biometrics calibration on one page, with frozen dataset export and profile fitting on a laptop (#836, #837, #841). - Heart rate: windows scoring below `heart_rate.minimumPeakScore` (default 0.4) now report no heart rate instead of a guess. In local replay this cut Watch HR error from 5.2 to 1.75 bpm on tuning nights and from 4.3 to 3.1 bpm on held-back nights, at about 75% coverage (#840). - Beat-to-beat heartbeat detection in the piezo-processor, stored per minute in a new `heartbeats` table. Vitals are unchanged. Heartbeat retries now use bounded, ordered backoff (#848, #865). - Apple Watch references: import breathing rate and HRV (SDNN), add a pod-vs-Watch deviation report with night-by-night charts on the calibration page, render Watch-only nights, and archive pod biometrics off the pod for long-term comparison (#842, #844, #845, #847, #867). - Read-only analysis snapshot export (DB backup + RAW window) and MCP tool. Health export uploads are no longer truncated at 10 MB (#843, #839). - Schedule library with switchable curves, alarm snooze length with Snooze taper, and independent tap actions for normal and while-ringing (#835, #861, #849). - Storage: eMMC endurance card, RAM-only journal, and flash write insights with recording controls (#838, #854). - Surface the frzWater tank level and sensHealth cover disconnects, and register `sensHealth`, `frzWater` and `lps` as known record types (#872, #877). - Fix the internet access toggle after a reboot and the false "firewall rules missing" notice. Also fix false high TEC and slow fan warnings on an idle pod, and grant the service user journal read access (#856, #809, #801). - Security: upgrade Next.js to 16.4.3 for three advisories and require patched Node.js in development and pod installs (#870, #868). - Add the Europe/Bucharest timezone, update dependencies, fix the Renovate config, and kill surviving mutants (#874, #851, #853, #875, #852). ## Migrations - Configuration DB: schedule library, stale gesture alarm field cleanup, side stage models and the active model, and alarm snooze (0028–0034). - Biometrics DB: reference samples, heartbeats, and 0031 (0031–0033). ## Deploy note #840 bumps the biometrics manifest to 1.1.0. Profile revisions pinned to the old manifest will report `PROFILE_INCOMPATIBLE` and must be re-proposed against the new one. ## Test plan - [x] GitHub checks on the `dev` head (`1fbb953f`): CI, Build & Package, Dev Release, Publish OpenAPI Spec, Ref Collision Check. - [ ] After merge, wait for "Analyze & Release" on the `main` merge commit, then `sudo sp-update main` once on a pod and confirm the service starts and migrations apply. - [ ] Re-propose any active biometric profile against manifest 1.1.0 and confirm it applies. 🤖 Generated with [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code)
Why
A backtest of 4 tuning nights takes about an hour on Pod 5, which rules out real parameter sweeps on the pod. This adds a way to fit biometric profiles on a laptop against data exported from the pod. The pod still confirms the winner.
