Web application that allows users to browse thousands of movie titles. Implemented with MySQL and Java in the backend and HTML, CSS, and Javscript in the front end. There is a corresponding android app that utlizes a web api to interact with the backend database. Object oriented programming methods and XML parsing are used to populate the database with additional movie information. The web app was hosted on AWS and implemented load balancing features in order to process heavy traffic. Master and slave MySQL instances were setup along with the load balancers. Implemented security features such as ReCaptcha, Prepared SQL statements, and password encryption to protect web app against malicious users.
