For local testing, using a Github Personal Access Token is simpler than creating a GH Application.

Add --github-token argument

Hi @zeeke. Thanks for your PR.

I'm waiting for a shiftstack member to verify that this patch is reasonable to test. If it is, they should reply with /ok-to-test on its own line. Until that is done, I will not automatically test new commits in this PR, but the usual testing commands by org members will still work.

Regular contributors should join the org to skip this step.

Once the patch is verified, the new status will be reflected by the ok-to-test label.

I understand the commands that are listed here.

Hey @zeeke, I'm not sure in what context you're looking at mergebot, but our team is currently considering switching over to rebasebot (https://github.com/openshift-eng/rebasebot). It was forked from mergebot, so it should look familiar. It's also now used more widely in openshift. If you want to stick with mergebot, that's fine too :)
Just let us know what your plans are and we'll look at your PR.

hi @mandre, thanks for the info.
In the downstream repositories I'm working on, I find using git merge way more practical. So, I'd like to use the merge way for a little while, and this repo can help me with the automation.
