Closing rather than merging — this bumps zod to 4.x in apps/server only, leaving packages/shared on 3.23.8. The shared GameConfigSchema (and every other zod schema in packages/shared) is consumed by the server, so this would load two different zod major versions side by side — the same dual-module hazard that caused instanceof ZodError checks to fail and routine 400s to become 500s earlier in this repo's history (see AGENTS.md, "zod is pinned to exactly 3.23.8").

The underlying advisory (GHSA-mrhx-c7xc-m3w5, memory exhaustion validating oversized constrained collections) is real and has no 3.x backport, so moving to zod 4 is the right fix — but it needs to be a deliberate migration across both workspaces together, not a single-workspace bump.

Current exposure is bounded: every route that validates an array is behind requireAuth, and Fastify's default 1 MiB body limit caps the payload before zod sees it. Leaving alerts #11–#13 open as an accurate signal until that migration lands.
