  • scripts/build-app.sh signs through scripts/sign-app.sh: with the Developer ID, the hardened runtime and a secure timestamp when a Developer ID Application certificate is in the keychain, and ad hoc otherwise.
  • release.yml puts the certificate from the DEVELOPER_ID_CERTIFICATE and DEVELOPER_ID_CERTIFICATE_PASSWORD secrets into a temporary keychain (scripts/add-signing-certificate.sh). For a release it notarizes and staples the disk image (scripts/notarize.sh) with the NOTARY_APPLE_ID, NOTARY_TEAM_ID and NOTARY_PASSWORD secrets.
  • The README and specs are updated.

Set the five repository secrets before merging: a release fails without the certificate.
