Porthole 20260515-r1 ==================== =========================================== = How to install this version of Porthole = =========================================== You can't use the ebuild from portage (as it's for another version), you must install it yourself with pip or use the local ebuild with a local overlay. Porthole requires: >=python-3.12 PyGObject with GTK 3 VTE and GtkSourceView introspection packages gentoolkit and, of course, Portage to install into a venv (only tested with Python 3.12) : > python3.12 -m pip install . For a systemwide install: > use the local overlay ==================== Original README ==================== Porthole is a GTK-based frontend for Portage (the Gentoo package management system, http://www.gentoo.org/). It features a hierarchial view of packages and supports fast searches and dependency calculations. Porthole also supports basic emerge features (emerge, unmerge, sync, upgrade world). Porthole is released under the GPL, see COPYING. Porthole is partially based on an earlier program, called gportage (http://www.stacken.kth.se/~foo/gentoo/), which has been discontinued in favour of Porthole.
