Question: Dream Air SLAM offline initialization and USB disconnect behavior #106

Description

@reallybigpictures

Hi SBoys3 — I’m investigating reliable offline operation of a Dream Air SLAM for a small, seated demonstration.

I saw your May 23 comment saying you had verified installing the software on a computer that had never been online and getting it to work. Could you clarify:

  1. Which headset variant, firmware and Pimax Play/EVO or driver versions did you test? Does that procedure work with Dream Air SLAM, including a cold start, and is any periodic Internet revalidation required?
  2. After normal initialization, if headset power and an active DisplayPort source are maintained but USB is disconnected from the initializing PC, do the panels remain active? Or is there a continuing USB keepalive/authentication requirement? Assume tracking is supplied separately; this question is about display operation only.
  3. Is authorization checked in the host runtime, the headset firmware, or both? Is there a documented or Pimax-approved minimal initialization/offline path that does not require the full tracking/rendering runtime to stay running?

I understand cold power-up, USB reconnect, and loss of Internet may have different requirements. Any tested details or pointers would be much appreciated. Thank you for your work on this driver.
