Official update actions can replace a reviewed core with a build that lacks required catalog and plugin behavior, and a failed replacement can interrupt the gateway.
Add an opt-in reviewed core channel with exact repository, tag, commit, platform, size and checksum validation. Download before stopping the running core, then check its existing catalog and registered plugins after replacement. Recovery restores only the previous executable and installation metadata, preserving configuration, credentials and sessions. Expose provenance and source-matched installed-plugin updates, and serialize replacement operations. Block ordinary app self-update while this channel is active.
Validation on October 4, 2026: Rebased onto upstream main
d4e49a24. The assembled stack at0221e3apasses 732 Rust tests (six ignored), TypeScript checks, production frontend and macOS app builds. Three frontend failures reproduce on clean upstream; the local localization issue was corrected. The complete ad-hoc app signature verifies. Runtime speed metadata preserves explicit ultrafast support and empty restrictions; account entitlement remains separate.Independent standards and behavior reviews of the assembled gateway stack cleared after the rebase fixes. These local results do not imply upstream CI approval or Synology runtime acceptance. Main Codex configuration is unchanged.
