Summary

  • In release-please-config.json, only the feat, fix, perf, revert and chore sections remain visible. The deps, deps-dev, docs, refactor, build, ci, test and style sections are now hidden.
  • Commits of hidden types no longer appear in the changelog and no longer open a release pull request on their own; they ship with the next release triggered by a visible change. Breaking changes are always listed, regardless of type.

Test plan

  • release-please release-pr --dry-run against this branch: the pending 1.0.5 notes only list: Miscellaneous Chores

Only feat, fix, perf, revert and chore commits appear in the changelog and trigger a release pull request. The deps, deps-dev, docs, refactor, build, ci, test and style types are now hidden.
