Summary

Updates the SQLAlchemy minimum and hash-locked version from 2.1.4 to 2.1.5. This preserves the exact Dependabot change from #3635 at 24a29ae267809f8559d4375a92ba5019b5a685e4; no other dependency changes.

The replacement uses a supported author-engine branch so the existing independent-engine gate can run. The gate currently rejects the original dependabot/ branch before reading reviews. No gate or security policy is changed. The original PR remains open until this replacement is validated.

Type of Change

  • Dependency patch update

Test Plan

  • All 72 lock hashes match the official PyPI 2.1.5 release artifacts, with no yanked files; other lockfile content unchanged.
  • 17 model/type-alignment tests pass using an independently checksum-verified SQLAlchemy 2.1.5 wheel in scratch with the main Python 3.11 interpreter. Shared virtual environment unchanged.
  • Applicable pre-commit hooks, staged gitleaks, and changed-file TruffleHog pass.
  • Actual independent Muse PASS for the final diff; review marker posted separately.
  • Fresh GitHub CI before merge.

Full backend suite and live PostgreSQL integration were not run locally. The repository-wide TruffleHog command scanned unrelated shared refs and reported unknown historical findings; none was verified or in either changed file. That broad scan is not represented as clean.

Checklist

  • Only requirements.in and the SQLAlchemy requirements.lock block changed.
  • Hash locking and existing checks preserved.
  • No schema or production deployment changes.

Related Issues

Replacement for #3635, originally generated by Dependabot. Patch update only; no major-version batch merge.

Note

Low Risk
Patch-only lockfile update with no code or schema changes; ORM behavior should be unchanged aside from whatever is in the 2.1.5 release notes.

Overview
Bumps SQLAlchemy from 2.1.4 to 2.1.5 by raising the floor in requirements.in and refreshing the pinned version plus full --hash set in requirements.lock. No application, schema, or migration code changes—this is a patch-level dependency refresh (replacement for Dependabot #3635).

REVIEW: PASS muse fe2c075

Codex relaying the completed independent Muse review of the exact committed dependency diff. The final patch SHA256 is e32689523ecd2139542e7b3dfa92f55a044e874aa134a23ce00fabb1d2796cc1, unchanged from Muse's reviewed snapshot. Muse returned PASS: the change is restricted to SQLAlchemy 2.1.4 → 2.1.5 and its distribution hashes, with hash locking preserved.

Codex independently reran model/type-alignment tests using the checksum-verified actual SQLAlchemy 2.1.5 wheel: 17 passed. All 72 release hashes were matched to official PyPI metadata; applicable pre-commit hooks, staged gitleaks, changed-file TruffleHog, and the committed branch-scoped TruffleHog scan passed. The shared virtual environment was not modified. Muse did not execute tests.

The broad canonical TruffleHog scan also traversed unrelated shared refs and reported 99 unknown historical findings, none verified or in changed files; that separate scan is not claimed clean. Full backend/live PostgreSQL validation was not run locally. Fresh replacement CI must pass before merge.

Full details: Title check

Explanation

The title "build(deps): update SQLAlchemy to 2.1.5" matches the single change in the changeset, which raises the SQLAlchemy minimum and hash-locked version from 2.1.4 to 2.1.5 in requirements.in. It is specific, concise, and follows conventional commit style. It does not mention that this PR is a replacement for #3635, but that detail is not needed for the title to convey the main change.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description covers the summary, the type of change, the test plan, the checklist, and related issues, so it follows the template. It states the purpose (SQLAlchemy 2.1.4 to 2.1.5 patch update), marks the Dependency patch update type, and lists test results with clear pending items (fresh CI). The template's Type of Change list has no dependency option, so the author chose a non-template entry. The Related Issues section references #3635 without a closing keyword. The Test Plan checkboxes do not match the template's options exactly, and the description adds a long narrative about gate and branch handling that is not part of the template. These gaps are minor. The description is mostly complete and the check passes.

Explanation

No functions found in the changed files to evaluate docstring coverage. Skipping docstring coverage check. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 0 functions across 0 files. (1 skipped: 1 unsupported.)
