Per C.Lee (yes to all three /proof proposals, 3:21 AM PT Oct 26).

  1. Delete frontend/public/proof/{epcis-sample.jsonld, fsma-204-sample.csv, audit-bundle.zip, audit-bundle-tampered.zip} and all copy that refers to them (verifier transcript, shasum/verify recipe, tampered section, changelog, 'All artifacts are synthetic' footer). /proof is now an empty state plus the real verify_chain.py. No fake verify result. EPCIS labeled (Preview).
  2. Move the two zips into services/ingestion/tests/fixtures/proof/ and update test_proof_verify_router.py paths; .gitignore exception follows them.
  3. Retire scripts/build_audit_bundle.sh.
  4. Includes the /proof copy edits split out of kimi/copy-marketing-labels.

Left alone: /verify and /docs mention 'audit-bundle.zip' only as a generic verify_chain.py usage example.

Tests: tsc --noEmit clean; eslint 0 errors (60 pre-existing warnings, same as main); design-lint clean; vitest src/tests/{pages,lib,components} 787 passed, 2 skipped.
Python: test_proof_verify_router.py not run locally (no usable venv on the Mac, installs not allowed); relying on CI.

Reviewer: Gemini (engine review).

Note

Low Risk
Marketing and fixture-path changes only; /api/v1/proof/verify behavior is unchanged aside from tests using the new fixture location.

Overview
Removes hosted synthetic proof downloads from the public /proof marketing page and stops shipping sample CSV, EPCIS JSON-LD, and audit ZIPs under frontend/public/proof.

The page now tells visitors to run verify_chain.py on bundles from their own workspace: an empty state replaces the three download cards, and copy/metadata no longer promise pre-built artifacts or show scripted verifier transcripts, the tampered-bundle demo, changelog, or sticky footer.

Test fixtures move — audit-bundle.zip and audit-bundle-tampered.zip relocate to services/ingestion/tests/fixtures/proof/; .gitignore’s tracked-ZIP exception follows that path, and test_proof_verify_router.py reads fixtures from there instead of the frontend public folder.

Build tooling retired — scripts/build_audit_bundle.sh is deleted along with the public sample files it packaged.

Delete epcis-sample.jsonld, fsma-204-sample.csv, audit-bundle.zip and the tampered bundle from public/proof, plus the copy that refers to them. /proof is now an empty state plus the real verify_chain.py; EPCIS stays labeled Preview. Move the two zips test_proof_verify_router.py reads into services/ingestion/tests/fixtures/proof and retire scripts/build_audit_bundle.sh.

Walkthrough

The proof page now states that no public artifacts are published. It describes the verifier’s manifest, SHA-256, and Merkle-root checks, and links to the verifier script. The sample EPCIS document and audit-bundle build script were removed. Verification tests now load audit bundles from ingestion test fixtures, and .gitignore tracks those ZIP fixtures.

Merge Risk: Low · up to c1e91

Users may try to verify standalone exports and receive an error. Clarify that the verifier takes an audit bundle; the issue is bounded and does not otherwise block merging.

Minor · Functional Correctness · Quick win

Identify the ZIP bundle as the verifier input.

verify_chain.py opens its input as a ZIP bundle. A standalone FSMA 204 spreadsheet or EPCIS JSON-LD file cannot be checked with this script. Change the description to distinguish those exports from the audit bundle that the verifier accepts.

Closing as superseded by #3553 (eb907f4). Verified by Kimi against main at 19fe6cc: /proof already shows the empty state, test_proof_verify_router.py passes 41/41 on main without the fixture zips, tsc and eslint clean. Remaining branch changes are not required. Closed, not deleted.
