Follow-up to #3481 (SEL-411), for the CodeRabbit and Codex threads made after merge.

  • recall-drills: restore manual drill steps and the Requests (Internal Drill) link.
  • dashboard-dead-ends.test.tsx: remove invented user/tenant IDs, status record and counts; data-free assertions only.

Muse FAIL at e8ef2b4: the export-jobs Recall Report link led to a page with demo data. That link is removed for now. It will be re-added after #3471 (Kimi) removes the recall-report demo data. recall-report/page.tsx is not touched here.
The /requests demo path (DemoBanner/__isDemo) is left alone, because open PRs #3471 and #3476 touch those files.

Refs SEL-447

Reviewer: VS Code Muse or VS Code Grok

Note

Low Risk
Copy and test-only changes on recall-drills and dashboard dead-end coverage; no auth, API, or data-handling logic changes in this diff.

Overview
Restores guidance on the Recall Drills “not connected” dead-end so users can still run a manual Internal Drill via Requests (Internal Drill) (/requests), including the scope → collect → gap analysis → assemble → submit walkthrough.

Dashboard dead-end tests drop invented user.id and tenantId values (tenant is null) and assert UI copy (“Alerts are off”) instead of fake alert counts. A new case locks in the Internal Drill link and manual-drill copy on the recall-drills page.

📝 Walkthrough

The recall-drills notice now links to /requests and describes the steps for running a manual Internal Drill. Dashboard tests update their mocks to use null tenant, system-status, and metrics data. The tests also remove two open-alert count assertions and add checks for the Requests link and workflow description.

P1 Badge Provide the required date range before advertising this export

When an authenticated tenant with live data follows this new link and clicks “Generate FDA 24-Hour Response,” recall-report/page.tsx calls /api/v1/fda/export/all with only tenant_id and format. The export router unconditionally validates both start_date and end_date and therefore returns HTTP 400; tenants without live data instead get a disabled export button. Consequently, the newly advertised on-demand CSV fallback cannot produce a CSV. Add a bounded date-range selection/default and pass both dates, or direct users to a functioning exporter.

Pass both export dates from Recall Report.

For an authenticated tenant with a loaded non-demo report, the Recall Report export button calls /api/v1/fda/export/all without start_date or end_date. validate_export_window rejects missing dates, so the linked export always returns HTTP 400 before generating a CSV. Add a date range to the destination request. Changing the new guidance alone will not make the export work.

FAIL at e8ef2b4 (VS Code Muse review)

What's good:

  1. Routes exist: /requests (frontend/src/app/requests/page.tsx) and /dashboard/recall-report (frontend/src/app/dashboard/recall-report/page.tsx).
  2. The restored drill copy has no sample values. "Internal Drill" is real: it's a case type on /requests (<option value="Internal Drill">) backed by alembic/sql/V046__request_response_workflow.sql.
  3. dashboard-dead-ends.test.tsx is now data-free: user-1, tenant-1, the status record and open_alerts: 3 / events_ingested: 1 are gone (null data, tenantId null). The tests still assert the gating (alerts and heartbeat links hidden or shown, 'Alerts are off', coming-soon buttons disabled) and the two new links and copy.

Blocking (C.Lee's real-data rule: no made-up records in the UI):

  • The new Recall Report link sends users to a page that still renders invented data. recall-report/page.tsx:89-120 defines DEMO_INVESTIGATION, DEMO_AFFECTED_LOTS and DEMO_TIMELINE, and renders them at ~326-425 when demo_mode is true (lots at risk, consumers at risk, response hours, scenario, lots). /requests also shows a DemoBanner path for __isDemo data. This PR adds new entry points that funnel users to those pages, and the link copy promises an "on-demand tenant CSV export".
  • Fix: remove the DEMO_* fallback from recall-report (show an empty state when there's no real report) and drop the /requests demo path, in this PR or in a merged precursor PR. Otherwise hold the Recall Report link until that's done.

CI at this head: most checks are green. PR Gate: Frontend, Frontend CI Status Gate, System Simulation, Browser Storage PII Guard, SAST (Semgrep) and DAST preflight were still pending at review time.

PASS at 6734ec8

  1. Recall Report link: removed. The diff touches only recall-drills/page.tsx (+1) and dashboard-dead-ends.test.tsx. recall-report/page.tsx is untouched. The existing links to recall-report in dashboard/page.tsx, dashboard/layout.tsx and breadcrumb.tsx are already on main. This PR doesn't add them. The demo data on that page is still tracked in #3471.
  2. No made-up data added. The test removes user-1, tenant-1, the healthy status and the open_alerts: 3 / events_ingested: 1 mocks. They become nulls, and the literal-count assertions are dropped. The new test only checks the link href and the drill-steps copy.
  3. Restored /requests link: requests/page.tsx reads only real control-plane hooks (use-control-plane.ts). fetchCp hardcodes isDemo: false, there's no demo fallback dataset, and DemoBanner only renders when __isDemo is set. A normal user lands on real API data, or an empty or error state, not made-up records. Note: DemoBanner/__isDemo scaffolding is dead code that can go in #3471/#3476.
  4. CI: pending at review time. Merge only on green.
