Is it on httpx2 yet? A daily-updated board of which of the 5000 most downloaded PyPI packages
declare httpx, httpx2 or both as a dependency, plus a CLI to check your own requirements.
Live board: https://rafal-one.github.io/httpx2-ready/ (one page per package, e.g. /p/langchain-core.html,
JSON at /data.json, RSS of flips at /flips.xml, badges at /badges/NAME.json).
httpx2 (the pydantic fork) is replacing httpx in the AI stack: openai 3.x, anthropic 1.x, mcp 2.x and huggingface_hub 2.x already switched, while many others still require httpx. Mixing both installs two HTTP stacks. This tool answers "does package X support httpx2 yet?" from declared metadata. Unofficial, not affiliated with httpx, httpx2 or pydantic. Pure stdlib, Python 3.9+.
pip install httpx2-ready # or: pip install git+https://github.com/rafal-one/httpx2-ready
$ httpx2-ready check openai langchain-core
openai 3.0.1 httpx2 httpx2 only
langchain-core 1.6.12 httpx httpx only >=0.23.0,<1.0.0
$ httpx2-ready check -r requirements.txt --fail-on httpx # exit 1 if any pin is httpx-only
$ httpx2-ready check anthropic --json
Statuses: httpx2 (requires httpx2, not httpx), both, httpx (requires httpx only), optional
(only in an extra such as [test]), none. Exit codes: 0 ok, 1 --fail-on matched, 2 bad input or
unknown package, 3 network error.
httpx2-ready build --top 5000 --data data --out site # ~3 minutes, ~5000 PyPI JSON requests
httpx2-ready build --no-fetch --data data --out site # re-render only
The GitHub Actions workflow in ci/update.yml.example (copy it to .github/workflows/update.yml; pushing workflow files needs a token with the workflow scope) does this daily, commits data/state.json
(status, since-date, flips) and deploys site/ to GitHub Pages. Requests are sequential-ish (4 workers),
with a contact User-Agent and backoff on 429.
Also tracked per package: whether it caps mcp below 2 (pins-v1) and whether it still requires the
sunset langchain-community.

Only packages in the top 5000 have a page and badge.
"Declared dependency" only: requires_dist of the latest release. It does not see vendored code,
indirect use through other packages, or imports in the source. Python 3.9: the tool runs there, but
httpx2 itself needs Python 3.10+. See also httpx2-audit
for scanning your own code.
