Anchor 1.2.1 (2026-10-05) is a patch release of the v1 line. Its only change is an opt-in solana-v4 feature on anchor-lang, which no example turns on, so no program or test source changes.

Changes

  • All 57 anchor-v1/ examples move anchor-lang and anchor-spl from 1.2.0 to 1.2.1. Feature lists are unchanged.
  • .github/workflows/anchor-v1.yml installs and caches anchor-cli 1.2.1.
  • Every anchor-v1/ README, the root README, CONTRIBUTING.md and docs/anchor-v2-migration.md name 1.2.1.
  • CHANGELOG.md entry.

The Anchor v2 (anchor/, 2.0.0-rc.1) examples are untouched. The 1.2.0 in basics/pyth refers to pyth-solana-receiver-sdk, not Anchor, so it stays.

Verification

Run locally with anchor-cli 1.2.1 and Solana 3.1.14, following CI's steps (anchor keys sync, anchor build, then the LiteSVM cargo test). All nine sampled examples pass:

  • basics/counter, basics/favorites, basics/transaction-v1
  • finance/escrow, finance/token-swap, finance/perpetual-futures
  • tokens/nft-minter, tokens/token-extensions/transfer-hook/whitelist
  • compression/cnft-vault

The full set runs in the Anchor v1 workflow on this PR.

anchor-lang and anchor-spl move from 1.2.0 to 1.2.1 in all 57 anchor-v1
examples, the Anchor v1 workflow installs anchor-cli 1.2.1, and the docs
name 1.2.1 as the v1 CLI. 1.2.1 only adds the opt-in solana-v4 feature,
which no example enables, so no program or test source changes.
