Description
Next steps, in priority order
- Read the Remaining Sentence-Length Layouts Left by the Six-Layout Fix #2843, the sentence-length layouts left past the edit budget on Read the Six Layouts the Sentence-Length Check Misread #2846. A docstring body indented deeper than its quotes, a non-prose line inside an indented comment run,
/* */continuation indent, GoogleNote:/Warning:/See Also:/Todo:bodies, the blank-comment-line gap outside Python, and the NumPy head-versus-prose word-count heuristic (a comment on the issue adds the concrete case Copilot raised on Promote the Integration-Id Required-Check Match and Six Sentence-Length Layouts to Main #2847). Done means each is handled with a constructed test that fails with its fix reverted, or ruled out on the issue with the reason. - Make the Narrowed-Scan Diff-Floor Test Independent of the Working Directory #2830, the diff-floor test that fails on a clean develop from some working directories. CI passes it. Done means the test passes from any working directory, proven by running it from at least two.
#1814 (skill files hard-wrap) is still open and is left to the unattended loop's picker.
External blockers
- Nothing in the next steps waits on the maintainer.
- CodeRabbit still posts only its low-star notice here. Copilot plus the attested local pass covered this round.
Internal dependencies
- None. Read the Remaining Sentence-Length Layouts Left by the Six-Layout Fix #2843 is
.github/actions/prose-gate/prose_lint.pyandtests/test_prose_lint.py, and Make the Narrowed-Scan Diff-Floor Test Independent of the Working Directory #2830 is a test of its own, so they can run as parallel lanes. Confirm Make the Narrowed-Scan Diff-Floor Test Independent of the Working Directory #2830's test file is nottests/test_prose_lint.pybefore running them side by side.
State
- Honor a Required Check's Integration Id in the Attested Wait Hold #2842 and Read the Six Layouts the Sentence-Length Check Misread #2846 merged to develop, Promote the Integration-Id Required-Check Match and Six Sentence-Length Layouts to Main #2847 promoted them to main, and it was released as 2.0.974. Re-derive both.
- The primary checkout is on develop, fast-forwarded. Both lane worktrees, their local and remote branches, and the detached skills-refresh worktree are removed.
- The installed Skills snapshot reads current at the promoted main, and the host-safety kit reads CURRENT.
- Other tracks' open handoffs are untouched: Session Handoff [windows]: #2578 Landed for #694, Closing Through Promotion #2580, #1171 Next #2581 (windows), Session Handoff [host-instructions]: Hardening Rule and Merge Guard Released as 2.0.867 and 2.0.868, #2499 Docstring Next #2514 (host-instructions), Session Handoff [default]: Four Follow-Ups Landed and Released as 2.0.826, Downstream Adoption Next #2361 (default), Session Handoff [python-contract]: Escaped and Folded python-directories Values Refused, Released as 2.0.738 #2014 (python-contract).
The parked decision queue
Zero open decision issues.
What the last round did
- pr_review.py wait Matches a Required Check by Name Alone, Ignoring the Rule's integration_id #2839 landed as Honor a Required Check's Integration Id in the Attested Wait Hold #2842. The attested-wait hold matches a ruleset entry's
integration_id: a bound entry is met only by a same-name CheckRun whose app id equals it, so a commit status or another app's check never meets it. The CHECKS_PENDING message names the unmet required contexts. Copilot's request to usefullDatabaseIdwas declined, sinceApphas no such field. - Sentence-length comment and docstring readers miss four layouts #2838 landed as Read the Six Layouts the Sentence-Length Check Misread #2846. Six layouts the sentence-length check misread now read correctly, through one shared list-marker strip and AST docstring boundaries. Filed Read the Remaining Sentence-Length Layouts Left by the Six-Layout Fix #2843 for what was left.
- Both ran as parallel
standardlanes from one shared brief plus a per-lane design ruling, then one promotion, Promote the Integration-Id Required-Check Match and Six Sentence-Length Layouts to Main #2847. Its one Copilot finding (a short NumPy line at the entry indent dropped as a head) was deferred to Read the Remaining Sentence-Length Layouts Left by the Six-Layout Fix #2843 with a probe showing a numpydoc-shaped docstring is counted.
What not to repeat
- Lane 2839's final head was not re-reviewed locally. Its local pass was recorded before its four fixes. The promotion's review covered it, but a lane brief should say to re-run the pass after a fix round that changes code.
- Lane briefs named only the lint commands by guess. The hub's tests run as
python3 -m unittest discover -s tests, which CI's test-pull-request.yml runs, not pytest. State that in the brief from the start. - Carried forward, still unchecked: lane 2430 once saw
pr_review.py waitreturn at once while only a Windows unit-test check was pending. Check whether Hold an Attested Wait Until the Base Branch's Required Checks Register #2837's required-check hold covers that case before filing it.
New learnings
- Nothing new that is durable. The entries above are specific to this round's attempts.

The maintainer chose to merge and release #2847 when asked during this round. It merged as fc127f7 and was released as 2.0.974. The parked decision queue held zero open
decisionissues when this link was written, so no questions were owed at close.ptr727 commentedon Oct 12, 2026
