fix: exclude the coverage bot from the remaining contributor reports #1603

Closed

Description

@mendezr

Summary: Two contributor reports can still count an automated coverage-report account as a person. Excluding that account would keep the reports focused on human contributions.

Problem

The additional finding folded into #1516 concerns codecov-commenter in scripts/fetch-contributors.js and scripts/fetch-hive-history.js. Both scripts have separate bot lists that omit this account. Its name also avoids their suffix checks (and the contributors script's includes("bot") check).

The fix proposed in #1602 for the contributor metrics report changes only scripts/lib/contributor-tracker.mjs; it does not update these two lists. Track this separately from the published-churn history fix in #1516.

Expected outcome

Exclude codecov-commenter from both reports and add offline regression tests without excluding ordinary human contributors.

    Fixed by #1602 (merged 2026-10-26), which adds codecov-commenter to the excluded contributor bots, so the contributor reports no longer count the coverage bot as a person. The next scheduled metrics refresh picks it up.
