The projected world population for 2015 is 8,083,000,000. Circa 95% with access to a cellular device, and 40% (3.234bn) with internet access.
In order to reach maximum crypto currency penetration over the next few decades, offline transactions and cellular integration will be required.
Requests for Community Discussion
The Bitmark project hopes to prompt a widespread discussion throughout the crypto currency, hardware, cell, and software communities to come up with reasonable solutions to allow both cellular device integration and offline transactions.
Our initial suggestion is that chip or software based embeddable wallets for handling microtransactions may be developed, and an API developed that allowed transactions to be sent over the cellular networks.
If successful the approach could be adapted and applied to a range of every day devices: vending machines, unmanned fuel pumps, discreet NFC bill payment points, and so forth.
