feat(compute): update room-booking-prisma-template to the glass theme - #8643
Brings compute/room-booking-prisma-template up to date with its source repository, mdobaid311/room-booking-prisma-template at 642bf44. #8637 was a snapshot from before the later UI work.
What changes:
Glass theme in light and dark: one frosted window over a field of colored shapes, a sidebar with the brand, "Find a time" and the source link, and a header with the office clock, .ics export, print and a theme button.
"Find a time": the first free slot of each room on the days on screen, by length and people (src/lib/free-slots.ts, with tests).
Day and week views, utilization per room, each room's live status in the resource column, .ics export of the days on screen and of one booking.
An empty day on screen gets the demo bookings, so the demo never looks empty.
"Built with" cards with logos, and new README screenshots.
What stays as in #8637: the review fixes, the Deploy Button link (console.prisma.io/apps/room-booking-prisma-template), the source link to this folder, the prisma-deploy workflow with its teardown job, and the compute/templates.json and compute/README.md entries. No schema or migration changes, and package.json and package-lock.json are unchanged.
Checked on the source repository at the same code (it differs only in the two links above and the workflow): npm run lint, npm run typecheck, npm test (unit tests), npm run build, and a production deploy by the prisma-deploy workflow: https://bfc8q8vlw5rdrtz5643og0b1.ewr.prisma.build.

Documentation
Updated setup guidance, clarified when a workspace ID is needed, and added service-token workflow instructions.
Brings the template up to date with its source repository
(mdobaid311/room-booking-prisma-template at 642bf44).
- Glass theme in light and dark: one frosted window over a field of
colored shapes, a sidebar with the brand, "Find a time" and the source
link, and a header with the office clock, .ics export, print and a theme
button.
- "Find a time": the first free slot of each room on the days on screen,
by length and people (src/lib/free-slots.ts, with tests).
- Day and week views, utilization per room, each room's live status in the
resource column, .ics export of the days on screen and of one booking.
- An empty day on screen gets the demo bookings, so the demo never looks
empty.
- "Built with" cards with logos, and new README screenshots.
The review fixes from the first PR are unchanged, and the template keeps
its own Deploy Button link, source link and prisma-deploy workflow.
It looks like this branch is under active development. To avoid overwhelming you with review comments due to an influx of new commits, CodeRabbit has automatically paused this review. You can configure this behavior by changing the reviews.auto_review.auto_pause_after_reviewed_commits setting.
The room-booking template adds empty-day demo seeding and free-slot search. The board now supports day and week views, calendar export, printing, and theme controls. The page, styling, Prisma contract, documentation, and tests are updated.

Summary
Prisma contract and client setup compute/room-booking-prisma-template/src/prisma/contract.d.ts, compute/room-booking-prisma-template/src/prisma/contract.prisma, compute/room-booking-prisma-template/src/prisma/db.ts, compute/room-booking-prisma-template/package.json, compute/room-booking-prisma-template/prisma.config.ts
The contract derives field and storage-column types from shared utilities. Database clients use the parsed contract. Schema, dependency versions, and optional environment-file loading are updated.
The page ensures the selected day is seeded when empty. Seeding checks for existing bookings under an advisory lock. Integration tests cover concurrent calls and booked days.
The search returns available slots based on duration, seat count, office hours, and date range. The client groups suggestions by displayed time and reports selected rooms and slots.
The board loads bookings for its visible range and presents day/week views, room labels, time-finding suggestions, and calendar export. The page and styling adopt the new theme and stack presentation. Documentation describes the updated interface and deployment setup.

Assert each demo booking's room and times in the seed-day test.
The bounds check passes when all five demo bookings move together by any amount from one hour earlier to three hours later. A timezone or offset error in the demo-time mapping would therefore go unnoticed. Comparing each booking's room, startsAt, and endsAt with the expected times catches these errors. The comparison omits titles, so the test does not copy the fixture text from demoDay.

Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
The troubleshooting workflow example passes only PRISMA_SERVICE_TOKEN, although the README's environment table says to add PRISMA_WORKSPACE_ID when a token can see multiple workspaces. Following the example in that case may leave deployment unable to choose a workspace.
The documented workaround may fail to deploy despite a valid token.
This can occur when: A user follows the displayed YAML with a token authorized for multiple workspaces.

Start the day loop near from instead of today.
26-26: Minor · Performance & Scalability · Low value
Start the day loop near from instead of today.
findFreeSlots begins at day 0 and runs until the opening time of the day reaches to. Each iteration makes up to three officeTime calls, and each of those calls runs utcToZoned and zonedToUtc. Days that end before from do this work and then reach continue. When to lies far ahead, the iteration count grows with the distance from today, not with the searched window. FindTime calls findFreeSlots in its render body, so this cost repeats on every render.
Starting the loop a little before from removes the unneeded iterations. The existing start/end clamps still exclude any day that ends before from.
Suggested fix

Add a far-future case where the first open day is fully booked.
The far-future test at tests/free-slots.test.ts:71-75 uses limit: 1 and an empty booking list, so the first searched day always has a free slot. The test passes whether the search covers every day or only the first. No test in this file blocks the first open day and then expects a result from a later day. A regression that limits a far-future search to the first displayed day would not fail the suite.

Cover seed-versus-booking races in the integration tests.
Cover seed-versus-booking races in the integration tests.
Every seed test runs seedDayIfEmpty or seedIfEmpty only against other seed calls. The advisory lock already serializes those calls. Removing the room-row lock in seedDayIfEmpty (src/prisma/seed.ts, lines 86-90) would not fail any seed test. No test runs seedDayIfEmpty alongside createBooking or moveBooking.
Add a test that starts seedDayIfEmpty and a booking for the same room and an overlapping time. Start the booking while the seed transaction still holds its room locks, so the two operations overlap deterministically. Check that the booking waits on the room lock. If the seed call has no pause point, check the wait through pg_locks.
Do not assert that both operations complete without conflict. For overlapping slots, only one serial outcome is valid:
If the booking commits first, the seed sees a booked day and inserts no demo bookings for it.
If the seed commits first, the overlapping booking is rejected as a conflict.
In both cases, assert that the final state contains no overlapping demo and user bookings in the same room.

…last click
- findFreeSlots keeps each room's first free time on the days on screen,
not one per day, so a room free every day no longer pushes out a room
that is free later. The search starts a day before `from` and stops once
every room has its slot.
- A view transition from an earlier theme click no longer writes its theme
over a later one.
- Tests: one slot per room across two days, the clock change with the first
day taken, and a week 95 days ahead past a day with no time free.
Add a test for a room that is free only on a later day.

Align the documented Node.js minimum with engines.node.
AGENTS.md and README.md both say Node.js "24.11 or newer." package.json sets engines.node to >=24.11.1. Version 24.11.0 matches the documented text but not the declared range. .nvmrc contains only 24, so it does not pin a patch release or a tested version. The docs should state the declared minimum and should not attribute a specific tested version to .nvmrc.
This is a documentation mismatch. The template has no .npmrc that enables strict engine checks, so the docs should not imply that install is blocked.

Composer-loaded service. Preserve the existing booking assertions, and ensure CI
provides TEST_DATABASE_URL so this integration test can run.
Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
The troubleshooting instructions propose a PRISMA_SERVICE_TOKEN-only deployment. If a token can access multiple workspaces and the deploy action needs an explicit workspace selection, following this example leaves the target ambiguous.
The workflow fails to deploy or selects a workspace other than the intended one.
This can occur when: A reader follows the token-only workflow instructions using a multi-workspace service token.

Minor comments:
Review comments at @compute/room-booking-prisma-template/AGENTS.md:
- Line 15: Update the Node.js requirement in the AGENTS.md documentation to
state the `engines.node` minimum of 24.11.1 and clarify that `.nvmrc` specifies
only major version 24, not a tested patch version. Apply the same correction to
the README’s Node.js requirement, without implying that installation is blocked
by engine checks.
