Summary

  • pass the required kubernetes_config_path publish value through Coder's variables-file interface
  • preserve the intentional empty string used by the live in-cluster provisioner
  • keep the Terraform variable required and continue passing all other publish values explicitly

Why

Coder treats an empty --var kubernetes_config_path= assignment as absent, so release publishing prompts for the required variable and fails at EOF. Its variables-file parser preserves an explicit empty string.

Validation

  • pre-commit run --all-files
  • verified against Coder v2.37.1's ParseUserVariableValues implementation: --variables-file loads a YAML map[string]string, including empty string values
