The previous action — ShubhamTatvamasi/free-disk-space-action@master — was pinned to a floating master ref (supply-chain risk) and its repo has had no commits since April 2022 (last release: 1.0.0, that same month). Move to jlumbroso/free-disk-space, the de-facto standard: actively maintained, 687 stars, last update August 2024, pinned to v1.3.1. The cleanup is still needed because backend's multi-arch linux/amd64 + linux/arm64 build fills the runner disk; the new action is a drop-in replacement with the same defaults (no flags used here).
